The arena here is very small and map was poorly set up. Bathrooms are unkept. We had paid for a private party, but they allowed public walk-​ins to play during our sessions. I guess we weren’t the only group this company did this to since I read similar stories from other Unilocalers.
The staff was not friendly and tried to overcharge my friend for his mask/​gun rental. They claimed he didn’t give enough cash the first time and demanded additional money. We had to call the owner out, who was extremely unprofessional. He said his workers wouldn’t lie and wouldn’t give my friend his money back. The owner needs to learn some business ethics.
Overall, I would rather pay extra money to play elsewhere. This place was too small, workers/​owner were very unprofessional and rude, and my friend never got his money back.

I visited here on a Wednesday and loved it! Friendly staff and awesome field! I’m not sure why so many negative reviews, but it is one of the best places in SoCal to airsoft!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! This place makes the darkest depths of hell seem enjoyable. Yet again maybe even a playground covered in rusty nails is even more enjoyable. The staff here is absolutely horrific and RUDE! Frank is probably the WORST PERSON for this job. But here are some details to back up why I’m saying this. First off we showed up on Saturday 11:05am (5 minutes after it opened). Frank: Sorry we can’t take Groupons right now we have a private group and we don’t have any rentals to give out so you can come back at 5pm. Frustratingly a good handful of people were turned away at this time. Frank also said that it says on the company website and Groupon that YOU MUST CALL FOR RESERVATIONS… uhhhh I checked the groupon and your company website… NOTHING THERE FRANK! So my friends and I went around the area got lunch and I called them back. What do you know good olé Frankie boy answered the phone. Me: I’d like to make a reservation at 5pm today. Frank: Sure, how many? And FYI we are having a strict 15 minute window so please be sure to be on time otherwise I will have to give your spot up. Me: Understandable, I have 4 in my party. Frank: Ok you’re all set. After getting some of my info. Show up at 4:45pm. Frank: Sorry we aren’t taking Groupons we are booked for the day. EXCUSE ME YOU PIECE OF CRAP?! I called ahead and booked with you for TODAY… you said SATURDAY on the phone and my friends heard you cause you were on speaker phone. And you tell me my reservation was for SUNDAY?! YOU LIAR! I would say other things but this is a family website and I cherish Unilocal.But you sir Frank deserve to be fired or at least taught some genuine customer service and if the owner sees this well feel free to contact me because I’m disgusted with your establishment and quite frankly I’m calling Groupon on Monday and complaining about the establishment and getting a refund. Good day to you sir and madame Frank. BUYER BEWARE!

Lock and load boys!
I’m not the largest fan of indoor airsoft places and this one definitely ranks at the bottom of my list.
Tiny area with way too many choke points= check
annoying batman music that interferes with communication= check
Inability to go back out to get more ammo or switch guns during matches= check
Referees that just sit at the top and don’t do much= check
Overall, I was severely disappointed with this venue. Also, due to the confine area, I got a lot more welts than what I was used to. It also sucks that the staff here lacks bandages or any kind of medical stuff. Luckily, we had our own supply. :/

I’ve been to other airsoft places such as Tac City, Jericho, and SC Village, and this place has just been «okay» on my list.
EXPERIENCE (¹⁄₅)
Since we booked a private game, Insight does not set a FPS limit (feet per second — how far the bb travels after being shot from the gun). If you do a public game, then Insight would set a FPS limit. Now, with that said, some of our members’ guns definitely had a higher FPS than others — and combined with a «smaller» arena, you’d expect those pellets to hurt pretty bad.
I can’t control the FPS limit of some of these people’s guns, however I think Insight Interactive might want to change that rule for the safety of the players and customers. One of my girlfriends got injured on the field because of this «nonexistent» FPS rule for a private game.
In addition, some of our guys had their own radios/​walkie-​talkies and they were unable to communicate due to the loud background music. We politely asked the staff if they could turn off the music for the games, however they did not oblige and continued to play the music. What ever happened to customer service?
ENVIRONMENT (³⁄₅)
The arena is not that spacious. There is some room for teams to run around and shoot. However, I would not recommend this for private games. The course itself is okay. There are some backdrops, interesting props throughout the course to try to make the experience as «real» as possible.
CUSTOMER SERVICE (²⁄₅)
My boyfriend had tried to gather a private group event and there were instances when no one would pick up the phone, or he would have to wait longer than needed to get a call back from Insight just to confirm the reservation. With that said, customer service needs to improve in order to encourage more customers to feel like they are «wanted» to come play at this location.
TIPS
1. Unilocal check-​in offer for 50% off BB bags and green gas is no longer available.
2. Bring your own water or else you have to pay for water bottles.
3. Mesh/​T-​shirt masks are not allowed. You need to have either metal masks or rent their masks
Overall, my private game experience here did not meet my expectations. I have had better experiences at other airsoft locations. Customer service needs to be improved, and safety measures need to be re-​evaluated for private games.

This place no longer redeems the 50% off Unilocal coupon, so why have it on Unilocal?There are many other reasons this place is not Unilocal worthy. First, it’s the smallest indoor course i’ve been to, yet it allows speeds higher than an outdoor course. You should see some of the welts that result.
Second, they are not well prepared. They were out of paper towels in the restroom, and for the aforementioned welts they could only offer band aids so small that they could only cover half a welt.
Third, the staff was not very responsive. They blast batman music during the games, which makes a chaotic environment even more difficult to hear in. I asked for them to turn it off, and the employee agreed… but it was still in full force next game.
Lastly, the course is repetitive and boring. Tac city in fullerton has a small indoor course, but the games are played from north to south or east to west or from corner to corner, which makes you approach the same environment in new ways. The result is a fresh experience that is not offered at insight interactive. Go a little further to sc village for your airsofting.

This might not be the biggest indoor Airsoft location in SoCal, but it is certainly run by the best damn folks around. Frank S. is a class act, and so are all the other refs that work here. I’m a grown ass adult and I always hated the other Airsoft fields’ refs that yell safety directions like we’re all f’ing immature kids.
The Insight staff treats everyone with respect. The safety directions are given in a calm, sensible manner that doesn’t piss anyone off. And guess what?! When people are happy, not pissed off… the game play naturally more sportsmenlike and awesome! Are there cheater? Duh, that’s not the field’s fault. And when there are cheaters, the refs deal with them quickly and again, with respect. It’s nothing personal. Sometimes people don’t feel the hits, and I’m often guilty of that due to the padding or plate carrier I wear. Players or ref calls me out nicely, and I immediately walk myself off the field.
I find the complaints on Unilocal here ridiculous. Welts? Dude this is a contact sport! Bathroom is plenty clean for a bunch of guys claiming to be all tactical and tough. I mean seriously, we gear up to play this challenging sport, act like life or death… then complain the bathroom isn’t smelling like the Hilton hotel? Really? LOL.
Bottom line, this is my FAVORITE place to go for indoor Airsoft games. Their scenario games are great, and the layout changes time after time. And most important to this Airsoft player — the refs are cool and drama-​free. You won’t find childish refs acting like they are the drill Sargent yelling out commands like we’re ALL a bunch of noobs. Nobody deserves that, and frankly no grown ass adult should tolerate that crap.

Called 48 hours ahead to make a reservation to bring my grandson and his friends for his birthday and they said NO reservation needed .just get here early so you can get your rental equipment before it is all gone,
So we showed up early, in fact we where the first customer of the day, only to find out that the rentals where all rented out. When I asked how could that be we are your first customer? He responds that we have parties booked! I respond you must’ve known 48 hours ago that you had the party booking and rental equipment would’ve been all rented out? The manager response yes they’re booked 30 days in advance
Then I responded with you should’ve known that when I call,? needless to say two hours after were there some of my party got to play.
I was overcharged, and when I brought it to his attention he said oh well I can’t give
You a refund, so I had to buy more stuff. thats when I found out the had a special,.
I would like to say that businesses come and go like this and with the customer service management staff they have, their business won’t last very long.
Nobody’s working there really seems very interested in their job, except for the kid that was letting the kids go in and out. He needs to be the manager.
Also was irritated of time we lost because of the two parties that were coming in and out. getting the parties registered took up to 45 minutes each to check them in. and my party was waiting around and not playing.
So as the manager would put it? over on his Facebook page, wake up people

But to the average customer who knows what a session is? it would be your job to inform the customer of what you have for sale and your SPECIALS are.
Last but not least, if they would’ve stayed stocked in water it could pay their monthly rent if they were really busy or another paid employees !

Pathetic business and staff! I made an account just so I could write a review about this business. HORRIBLE customer service. I called them and made reservations three weeks in advance. The day of my reservation I arrived half an hour early and spoke with the manager, Frank Santana. Frank ran around for about thirty minutes before telling me he doesn’t have my reservation and there’s nothing he can/​will do. Normally I would be ok but his attitude about it ticked me off. I was there with my son and his friends for my sons 13^th b-​day party. I asked to speak with the owner (John) and Frank tells me that he’s not available after he just spoke with him. It’s a pathetic business and staff. I should have read the Unilocal reviews prior.

My girlfriend and I came here on our anniversary 4÷24÷2014 instead of the typical dinner and movie night and honestly this was so much more fun than we expected to be and we payed through Groupon and it was fast easy and we had leftover ammo. The rental equipment was in great condition. Besides the mask fogging up occasionally it was great. The staff was very friendly, polite, and motivating. Since my girlfriend never shot an airsoft gun the ref encouraged her to keep going. To people who buy this great deal on Groupon make sure you print out the valcher and they will ask for collateral as in a form of ID or credit card. Try to avoid weekends. Typically that’s when they run out of there rental equipment. A big thanks to the staff, crew, ref, and the manager they were all friendly and professional. We had a blast. I would defiantly recommend this to family and friends

We come here atleast 1x a month. I bring my son who is 10 and wait while he plays. The staff has always been helpful and great with answering any and all questions he has. He has a great time. He loves the CQB field.
We recently went to zombie night and had a blast.

Great staff, music, players, and an all around enjoyable experience. I have had nothing but a good time-​not to mention it is local and half entry today! (Saturday) 6÷08÷13. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s Swap Meet event because everyone will be there to sell their guns!

I agree with all of the reviews above, except the first one. Its like the owner wrote a review about himself or the person who wrote it is an idiot…
I especially like the review about the 13^th bday, we had an 11 year olds party there with 13 guests. What a joke, pizza shows up with not enough to feed the guest, of course we got drinks 20 minutes after the pizzza was gone and when they brought out the «CAKE» it was a frozen pie that feeds 6. I tried to let it go since the kids only really wanted to play air soft until I gave my 13 yr old $ 20 to by some gloves. Well he is 13 and you know how observant they are, not, anyway the lady at the front desk sold him gloves from the front table for $ 20. They did not fit and he had not even worn them due to the fact that his gun went dead, so I asked the lady to return them. Grant it we had not even left the premises. She says to me that they have a «no return policy», I said «Really, where is it posted? Did you explain that to the 13 yr old before he bought them? did you ask him to try them on to see if they fit??? The sign is posted above the door you have your back to at the ceiling!!!
Anyway if I could give them negative stars I would! People this stupid and with no regard to CUSTOMER SATISFACTION deserve to go out of business quickly, and they will for sure!!!

Insight Interactive is trying their best to keep customers coming back. They’re offering more and more each visit. This is the first business of its kind I know of that has access to public lockers, creating ambiance with music and fortification that looks like something, not just wood walls, a TV for in between games, lots of sitting space (There is A LOT, but people are just rude and take a lot of space), free lunch on weekends, and an airsoft swap meet every second Sunday of the month.
There are some bad things i have to say though. I do agree they play heavy favorites. I also notice many of the times the ref just goes in the ref tower and does something else. The layout is really unbalanced. Since opening there are two fortifications that have created heavy unbalance. The first one is the castle. Every time one side starts at the castle, most of the people just camp it and never step foot outside. The second building is the one that has a staircase. Whichever team gets a person in there first usually wins.
One thing I love about this place is the friendly staff. The only reason I don’t frequent tac city is because they create an atmosphere where it feels like you need their service, not that they need your business. Honestly, I feel insight interactive is really unbalanced and small. But the staff is nice and I want to support them.

The reviews mentioning a lack of customer service are only the beginning to the problems that I’ve observed in my visits to Insight. Employees are absolutely lazy, discourteous, and down right rude. The fact that the front desk guys hide behind the closed door office is a sure sign that they could care less about attracting new customers.
The favoritism with certain groups of players is terribly blatant. Seeing a group of «regulars» receiving a $ 5 discount per person in front of my friends only to be denied the same price break with little/​no explanation is disappointing and downright bad customer service in terms of enticing first-​timers to play there regularly.
The same «regulars» who were given the discount were also guilty of not calling hits on them or refusing to respawn properly as the rules dictate. During our play, notifying the referee of these issues resulted in nothing more than a blanket warning to the all of the players without singling out the guilty group. The warning did little to correct the issue as the «regulars» continued to circumvent the rules in their favor. Rather than complain and appear whiny, my group tried their best to play fairly, but that was difficult at this field.
My main gripe is the game’s foundation is built upon honor, respect, and sportsmanship. If that foundation is compromised, it’s the job of the referee to reestablish it. It was very clear that the referee was a friend of the regular group as he was regularly chatting/​joking with them and did not care enough to act upon our complaints.
What’s the point of the big wall of text on the Insight website under the RULES section if their own employees don’t abide by them? The site makes a point to mention:
«Airsoft is a game of honor and Sportsmanship. All players must strive to exemplify fair play and call their hits, regardless of circumstance. In situations where a player isn’t sure, they should give their opponent the benefit of the doubt and simply call themselves out.»
Insight already has a reputation among veteran players in the LA/​OC/​IE areas of playing heavy favorites and I didn’t want to believe it until experiencing the problem first hand. My buddies (more than a dozen) frequent fields that strive to keep the game fair but tonight, Insight lost a lot of potential return customers and I would not recommend this field to anyone.

I don’t think there are many cqb airsoft fields, which I think is a lot better then outdoor fields because of how fast paced you have to be and is perfect for when its night and raining out your in a covered well lit area.
The parking lot is a pretty good size and in a very nice area, the parking lot is not very lit up (not in their control).
The inside is well decorated the theme fits well, as you enter you will be greeted by probably nobody as many of the employees hang out in the office, you have to look for someone to check in by signing a waiver and pay this is probably the only thing that I can complain about. They have a store inside to your right which is pretty well stocked with guns to clothing, they also have a online store which I think is a little cheaper. The restrooms are very very clean.
After walking down the hallway you enter an area where there are tables and benches to set up or if you are a parent or non player you can sit and watch their hdtv on the wall, in the corner you will find the rental shack where they have decent priced rentals and where you can charge your batteries. Also a few vending machines, they also have lockers– bring a lock. This area is surrounded by a fence and a mesh netting where no bb’s will come through, after entering through the gate to the field you will see an amazing little city of buildings and props, you will be greeted by the referee Christian, he’s the Asian guy… I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he’s worth… He knows his shit, he’s fair and easy to get along with and makes coming to Insights enjoyable. The facility is always clean and everyone is pretty nice, put someone or a bell at the front counter so nobody has to wait awhile and I will give this a 5 star instead of a 4. They have a great deal when we go on the weekdays its called 2 for $ 20 that we utilize!!! I hope they come out with their membership system soon.
Also if your not one who likes playing with a bunch of lil kids on the weekends come out on a weekday when we big boys come out to play!!!
So all these 1 star ratings are crazy, also remember a lot of New businesses are working out flaws and bugs, its been almost a year and it seems to be better then what these sour Unilocalers seem to say! If it was bad I sure wouldn’t drive 45 miles weekly to play here!!!

Unprofessional and disorganized!!!
I came here for my little cousin’s 13^th birthday party.
At the start of the party:
— We had no table
— guns were still recharging so we couldn’t start playing till 30 minutes later than the time we booked at
— Out of 5 workers, only one guy really does anything and helps (the others hang out in the office)
Biggest complaints:
— When returning a gun (because some kids left earlier), I couldn’t find one person to help me. I didn’t want to get charged if they were missing a gun! I went to knock on the door of the office. Out of 4 people in there, 1 guy comes out. I tell him I need to return a gun… He tells me «one second» and goes back inside the office. He never returned. I don’t know if he thinks I have short term memory or the circle jerk inside the office was too exciting to leave but he literally never returned.
— When they finally did get our table set up after the first game, they had our pizza and NO DRINKS. I had to find someone to get our drinks because the workers seriously disappear.
One tip: if you do go here or book something here… remember they are all in the office. don’t be confused by the lack of help. Just knock on the door and someone will come out to assist you… or maybe not. who knows who cares. this place sucks ass

I would give this place 0 stars if I could.
The staff here was ridiculously unorganized and unprofessional and my friends and I ended up paying more than we had to. You would think that being new and everything they would treat their customers well to get repeat business. Not a good idea to piss off a party of 20 during your first week open… we’re asian. There’s alot of us. And we all talk.
BTW, The arena is super tiny and it stank really bad.
