Paint it up!

I found Ryan through Unilocal.He picked up his phone when I called. We communicated mostly by text to arrange the estimate. I got three estimates for my exterior paint job. Ryan’s was the best price for a licensed and bonded painter. He was professional through the whole process. He always responded quickly to all my texts. He was always on time for all the appointments and did what he said he would do, eg. we wanted Dunn Edwards paint instead of Behr, and he used Dunn Edwards. At the end of the paint job, there were a couple touch ups that we pointed out to him and he did that as well. We are happy we chose him.

I used Paint It Up! to paint the exterior of my 2 story home in early December 2015. I waited to write this review to make sure that the painting was done well and would withstand the El Nino rain. Ryan and his lead painter, Benjamin, did an excellent job. I contacted 4 painting contractors and 3 of them gave me price quotes. Ryan’s bid was not the lowest but it was competitive and very fair. The job required painting the stucco and wood trim/​fascia, stain and vanish the front door, and paint the side & back gates. Some of the wood fascia and wood trim on the garage doors had to be replaced or repaired due to dry rot or termite damage. Ryan used Dunn & Edwards’ highest quality exterior paint (Evershield) for both the stucco and wood fascia/​trim due to its durability and ability to repel water and dirt.
Ryan and Benjamin paid attention to details. They filled gaps in any of the windows with caulking/​sealant. They corrected any painting issues when the job was finished, e.g., dark paint droppings from the wood fascia onto the stucco, and small spot that was not painted. Ryan also replaced our bucket that he needed to use. He even replaced the street numbers on the house with new ones since the old ones were too brittle. Ryan’s company completed the job on time with high quality results. I would highly recommend them to any homeowner who needs a painting contractor.

Ryan and his guys did a great job. His quote was well below other I received. Very happy with how they stripped and scrapped my patio. Made the old patio looks 100% better. His opinion on the colors was a great help. Highly recommend «Paint it up!»

Great price for a great value. The work was completed on time and 100% to our liking. Everyone in the company was professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend Paint It Up to anyone seeking a high quality job for a competitive price.

I sent them a request for quotation on Sep 29 2015 and haven’t got back from them by Oct 15 2015. It seems that it’s better to call them.
An hour after posting this review the owner contacted me and apologized for not getting back to me. I got a good offer from him. I was happy to receive this message.

Found this business on Unilocal based on the positive responses. I called a left a voicemail one day and after not getting a response after a day decided to call again. I received a callback later and was told that he was on vacation and would call in the next day or so. He took my number and promised to call. Unfortunately I didn’t get a call back.
Removed the 2 stars because lack of follow up and no ability to really measure their work.

I was having a hard time getting the usual guys I use to come do some painting I wanted to change up living room and hall way color so not a huge job, but $ 250 for half a days work can’t believe guys weren’t jumping on my offer. So I fin Ryan at Paint it Up, left a message he called me next day, worked around my schedule and finished up in the early evening the next day. Very flexible, clean work, excellent straight cut lines, and a cool guy that was easy to work with. I am a happy customer and will use Ryan again for my next painting projects.

Ryan and his crew do excellent work. Very high quality and a great attention to detail with very fair prices. I would recommend them to any friend or family member without hesitation.
They just finished a full exterior job as well as two interior rooms. The exterior was a 17 year old, original paint on stucco with wood trim. The eaves and the trim were really dry and needed a lot of attention. We switched the color scheme and added an accent color, so they were painting white over previously colored trim and a light grey on the stucco. Benjamin took the extra time and did an excellent job on the exterior prep work — stucco patch, caulking, priming the wood trim, removing old nails & hooks, etc. He did a very good job cutting in the accent color and spent the extra time to put on a 3^rd coat in a lot of places (where it was extra dry) and you can definitely see the difference. Even up close, inspecting the stucco there are absolutely no voids anywhere on the house. Can’t say enough positive things about the exterior (and the neighbors love it too!).
Interior was an equally great job as well. They made quick work of a kitchen/​living room combo, cut in the crown molding very nicely, and did a great job around the interior shutters. They were very understanding of our remodel schedule and worked on a Sunday to get the paint finished and ready for the cabinets to install Monday morning.
Overall my wife and I are extremely pleased with the results.

Ryan and his crew are awesome. I’m an avid Unilocaler and again, Unilocal didn’t let me down. Ryan and Ben painted both the inside and outside of our house. We are more than happy. The estimate was easy to schedule and the price was fair and affordable. Ben and Ryan were super nice and professional. Very happy with their work. because they are super good at what they do and they are high in demand, you may have to wait a moment to get the work done but they are well worth the wait. I can’t recommend them enough.

Ryan and Ben were amazing, very accommodating to our requests, showed up on time and finished on time. Lots of attention to detail and did an amazing job on the home. We were on a time crunch due to our quick move-​in date, so when we asked Ryan about the job he said he’ll try to work with us to get us moved in quickly, there was a lot of walls to be done, so we were expecting a couple days of delays, but Ryan stayed on top of it and finished sooner than we expected. I could not be more satisfied with the job and will recommend Ryan to anyone.

I contacted Ryan and made an appointment with him for an estimate. About a half hour before he was due to arrive, he called and said he could not make it. He then asked to reschedule for the following Monday, which I accepted. When the appointment time came, Ryan never showed and didn’t even have the courtesy to call or text me. I understand you get busy and have to change plans, but when a compromise is made at your request and you don’t show, what does that say about your integrity?
Follow up — don’t believe the comment left below by Ryan. That is actually an edited comment. The original one he had he must have deleted and left the below. He never contacted me or showed up on the scheduled Monday appointment. And Ryan only texted me after my review was posted. He had every excuse in the book. Again, you may want to consider the integrity of this person prior to hiring.

I wanted to take a moment to thank Ryan for repainting the interior of my house we used multiple colors had an accent walls in several locations of the house I thought his pricing was very reasonable he was always there on time and he was always very professional with us we even added a couple other things for him to do but he just said he would do for us at no extra charge
The work came out great and I passed his information along to some of my relatives that have already seen his work

Just want to advise you on what a tremendous job Ryan and his assistant Mike did on the exterior paint job they did on my house.
They are very professional as well as respectful to my home and myself as well.
They did an excellent job, very detailed and did all that he discussed with me and also what was on the bid.
The bid price was very fair and for the job they did — was a great price…

Ryan & Mike are great. Did a fantastic job painting the outside of our house. Also replaced many damaged pieces of wood on the front of our house and on our trellis. Ryan came up with an idea to add a fourth color we would have never thought of that looks great. Price was fair and work was outstanding. Would definitely use them again &, recommend to anyone.

I have been using Paint It Up (Ryan) for about three years and he has painted the interior and exterior of at least six of my rental buildings and apartments. Ryan has always done an excellent job and always responds if there are any issues or items that might need to be touched up. He is a professional and an excellent painter. His knowledge and recommendations are always appreciated and welcomed. He is the only painter I use now. Highly recommended!

This JUST happened.
First off, a couple days ago my husband calls to check availability on getting a quote for the interior of our brand new house. We don’t technically even have the keys yet so we have to make arrangements to drive up there (we currently live 20 min away) and get the key from the office.
Ryan replies that his schedule is busy because his girlfriends party was on Saturday and that he had a supebowl party to go to on Sunday (uhm. Ok?). He then agrees on Saturday at 11:00am.
We drive to the office, pick up the keys to the new house, and waited until 11:30am for my husband to finally text Ryan and ask what the status is of his arrival. He replies, «I’m sorry I had a family emergency. Sorry I didn’t let you know sooner.» Yea fucking right, I remember my first flake excuse. Bad for your business and very unprofessional.

Had a great experience with Ryan from Paint it up. I received three bids for my paint job– painting about ¹⁄₃ of the exterior stucco portion of my home. They ranged from affordable to ludicrous. Ryan came in just right. One guy wanted to charge me four times what Ryan charged me, what a nut job.
Ryan was punctual for his appointment and was thorough in explaining what he was going to do. I set the painting for a few days later. He was clean throughout the job, made sure to cover all the plants and grass up next to the house. Ryan did a great job patching small cracks and matched the paint perfectly to what I already have on the house. You really can’t tell that he was there, which is a good thing!
I would definitely hire Ryan again!
