Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

I will NEVER stay here again. I had left my iPad in the hotel room after a stay last week. Was in a hurry to catch flight. Called hotel and let them know where it would have been. They went and checked the room. It was not there. Either the housekeeper or guest that stayed after us had taken it. That is the type of guest or employees they have working or staying there. Also we had to move rooms due to ant infestation in bathroom. Had to have room sprayed then came back later that night and had just as many new ants in bathroom. We ended up moving rooms and had ants in bathroom of new room as well. Very upset with hotel and lack of ability to maintain rooms. Never coming back to hotel.

We’ve just returned from a 7 day stay here.
It is a beautiful hotel complex and Rancho Mirage itself is also lovely.
Our family of 2 adults and 2 children shared a room with 2 queen beds that was close to the main pool but also had views directly over a small lake and fountain. The room was a good size, well equipped and perfect for our needs. The only negative was the sound-​proofing. On several occasions we were disturbed or woken by sounds coming from one of the rooms near ours. This is a real shame and I am surprised that a hotel of this overall standard has such a fundamental issue.
We found the staff to be friendly and service to be good. Food and drink is expensive here though.
The main pool and Splashtopia water park were really good for the kids. The water park itself is quite small but has a couple of fun slides and a great lazy river that flows around it.
Overall we had a great stay and we would definitely stay again (provided we could guarantee a more soundproofed room).

Disappointed with our stay for the following reasons …
1. Asked at check in to see if we could get a pool view room and was told «for an upgrade fee». The hotel was virtually empty (Sunday check in).
2. Greeted at pool Monday morning by a septic truck working on the lazy river. Was told it would be «non functional» until 1:30pm. I spoke with hotel manger «Cory» who was unaware of the issue but offered his apologies.
3. Pool service was non existent. The sever dropped off a menu at 11am and then only came back by at 1:30pm to let us know it was «last call».
4. Called manager again at 2:30pm as the septic pump truck was still pumping and he did not have an updated ETA on when it would be open. He said that he would «waive my resort fee» as a concession and the hotel was already existing me a courtesy to «use the facilities» after check out. He said that the resort fee fee covers the use the pool and wished me a good day.
Update: Received a call from the Front Office Manager to discuss my stay (triggered from a automated survey response). Offered a complimentary night stay. To be continued …

This WAS my favorite getaway place and go-​to from LA and will bve looking and pricing elsewhere. Omni has the nerve to insult us with an $ 89. special rate only to get you to the site at $ 300.+ per night. It’s insulting and not the way you do business, they link it in as $ 199. a night and we tried mid week and even then those were not available.
I miss the old management where you weren’t on hold for over 20 minutes, offered great priced getaways and they actually cared about their customers.
Advice: Price them and look around as well, kids will love it, parents and single guests will not be cared for, customer service is no longer a priority.

Came in for a last minute vacation. It was wonderful for the kids they loved it. But only one small thing they need to remodel their front desk area lol… all in all nice tho

We wanted something family friendly and this place had a little bit of everything nice restaurant, water park, night activities like karaōke the hotel it self was okay nothing fancy but they did let us check in two hours early which was really nice especially with little ones the food was very pricey weather it was pool side food or from there restaurant but portions were good so that makes up for the price the water park was nice but they did have alot of rules but I guess thats never a bad thing just shows safety is a priorty

We came here for a company retreat. Although the resort is quite nice and staff is mostly helpful (I will get to that) our final two days were the worst experience of my life.
1^st about half of our company got food poisoning which varied from extreme stomach pain (which I’m still dealing with) to vomiting etc for the last two days of the retreat and travel home. It was/​is horrible. We had our final celebratory banquet and 5 people were missing due to extreme stomach issues and another 10 were having stomach issues! Myself included. More people showed symptoms on the way home (on a plane!!!).
Horrible!
2) on our final day there it seemed as if they wanted to get us out (which is typical of most hotels) but really unacceptable for a place that is supposed to be a spa location. During our stay the cleaning staff would not service the room until well after 1.30 PM but on the last day they were knocking on the door and trying to get in at 7.30 AM while I was in the shower. I had left the bathroom door open but luckily I had left the hinge lock on.
Also I had requested, a golf cart pick-​up from my room as 1) I had no desire to walk from the furthest villa to the front desk and 2) I did not want to drag my luggage with a stomach ache (which they caused). I asked for a taxi as well. I had requested the pick-​up for 10.15 AM. Well 10.20 passed and I asked a staff to call the front desk. They said it was on the way. I saw one coming and flagged it down. He lifted my luggage onto the rack and we were off… To a different room to drop off a bag. He had said nothing– like «hey I have to drop off this bag before I get you to the front desk». Ok… So we drive around the complex and circle back and get to the front desk past 10.30 which is the time I had requested my taxi. This guy just walked away from the cart without saying anything or taking down my bag. Not «have a nice day» or «safe travels, come again» nothing. Mind you I feel weak from the stomach issues, drag my luggage off the cart and head to check out.
When we arrived to this place the person (different) which took me to my room had been fantastic, good conversation, put my bags on the cart actually took the bag away from me so he could put it on the cart and took it down.
Now that we were leaving it felt like the staff were, «hey, don’t let the door hit you on the ass»
You know it’s amazing because I would have given this place a much higher ranking due to the service and other wait staff at the beginning but as the service, food etc. went down towards the end of the stay so did my feelings of this place.

The room walls are not insulated. I woke up at 3:30 because the man next door to us was snoring. I turned on the air conditioning to mask the snoring and at that point I fell back to sleep.
My husband and I both purchased Swedish massages. They were definitely not worth the $ 140 (each) price tag. The spa also automatically charges 20% for a tip.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Crazy hectic upon arrival, must be the USTA sectionals dinner banquet. Valet a little disorganized and not really a valet. «You’ll drive to your room after check in» he said. More traffic cops than valets I think. Yes, we drove to one of the many scattered buildings in the complex after check in, don’t expect bell service for your luggage. More condos than hotel rooms and a little dated, nice way to describe as old. Lovely view of the 9^th green, cute little patio off the sliding glass doors, already hear our neighbors though, paper thin walls.
Wow…definitely more to follow!

Perfect place for kids!
Wo. I got a super deal for three nights here and couldn’t pass it up. I cancelled my reservations for the Fairmont Princess in Phoenix and came here instead. This is not a luxury high end resort but it is nice. This is probably the best resort if you are coming with kids.
~What I liked:
Spacious room;
Lazy River;
2 Jacuzzis;
Beach and sand area for toddlers;
Two water slides;
Big Pool;
S’mores;
Parking included;
Staff everywhere to address your needs; and
Very close proximity shopping and amazing eateries.
~What I did not like:
Kids running around unattended;
No refrigerator;
No in room jacuzzi tub;
The restaurant was average;
The cleaning lady threw out $ 10 pastry in a closed box.
El Paseo has amazing shops and eateries and is about a mile away. This resort also is centrally located to so many local things to do.
I am a fan.

Great for family trip. The kids loved splashtopia. I loved having multiple lifeguards covering the swim areas. This is the only hotel in town with height requirement of 42 inches for watersides. Everywhere else is 49 inches. Thanks Unilocal for mentioning that in a review of another hotel. Can’t imagine if we’d made the trip and the 6 yr old couldn’t slide.
Beautiful grounds. Room was good but the suite bedroom is separated from living area/​fold out bed by a door covered w sheer curtains so no privacy for the parents.

They should call it the Hotel Chastity because no one is having sex here.
There is no soundproofing. If anything, sound is amplified between the rooms. We not only hear the woman in the room next to us on the phone, we can hear a bit of the voice of the person she is talking to. It’s that bad. So forget any romantic moments as the people next to you will hear every word.
Our daughters had it worse. In the room next to them they had a kid yelling «shut up» for over 45 minutes. They called the front desk about it but the hotel didn’t do anything. Then in the morning at 6:15 the kids in the room next to them woke up and were yelling non-​stop. They called down to the front desk and again nothing was done.
With that said, after we complained they moved us to different rooms. We ended up with a smaller room, smaller bed, smaller bathtub. But we had privacy! So after an awful Christmas morning, then it was ok because they had available rooms with no one next to them. (But I wouldn’t count on their having quiet rooms available.)
Aside from the noise issue…
The hotel is old but in decent shape. The beds are super comfortable and the showers have great water pressure. The grounds are nice. The kids pool area looks great. And the adult pool is nice and quiet.
The restaurant & bar at the hotel is awful (see my reviews). But there’s a mall across the street with some really good restaurants (see my reviews). And for breakfast there’s an IHOP a 3 minute car ride away.
Everyone who works here is very nice. Ineffectual but nice. So aside from the no privacy issue, it’s a nice place.
If you stay here figure that you will wake up when your neighbors do, even if they’re quiet. And you won’t have any chance for romantic moments. Otherwise, as long as you don’t have out of control kids next door, it’s fine.

Headed to the resort after thanksgiving for a much needed babymoon. I specifically said «babymoon» on the reservation. Our room wasn’t ready upon checkin so we headed to have lunch. Once the room was ready they tried to charge us the full amount again even though it was prepaid and I showed them the receipt.
The resort was clearing out. Literally no cars in the parking lot. Our room was in building 2300. Second floor (no elevator access) and for a pregnant lady the stairs were not fun. They also gave us a room in the back so getting to the lobby was quite a hike. We get to our room open the balcony door and all we smell is manure from the bark they’re laying down. Really???
Worst off our room was next to the main ac or electrical room. It was so loud and even made the mirror on the wall shake all night. I called and asked for a room change since the resort was literally empty and no one ever called me. Asked for extra blankets cause it was called, didn’t get them till the second call the next day.
Monday morning we were woken up by the gardeners outside laying down more bark, an alarm going off and workers screaming outside. Just because it’s Monday at 7am doesn’t mean you have to wake up the only people on that side of the resort b
Very disappointing. We spent so much money ($ 420 rooms, $ 360 massages + food for 3 days) trying to enjoy our babymoon just to be disappointed.

My family and I stayed at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas this last weekend. Initially I was super impressed… the grounds are beautiful (minus the dead grass but it’s CA so that’s to be expected). My kids couldn’t wait to get in the lazy river!
Saturday morning we ventured over to Blue Ember for breakfast and we were rudely dismissed by the Manager as he claimed another party was there before us (even though they most certainly were not). This seemed to be an issue of race as he followed us to our table seemingly upset that the hostess was taking care of us. Very rude. We also were not impressed with the food at the restaurant. My huevos rancheros were served with pork that was under-​cooked. Never did they offer to replace my meal. Instead he brought me a plate of bacon (not a great pairing with huevos rancheros). The pool service was just average as well. I had a massage on Sunday morning and I was told that because of the knots in my back she didn’t want to give me the Swedish Massage I requested! What? Instead she gave me a deep tissue massage. That’s not what I asked for!
I would say that overall we were just satisfied with our stay. If they could find a way to provide better service we would definitely be back.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. We had a room right on the lake. It was clean, quiet and beautiful. We spent the day at the pool and lazy river which was relaxing and fun. It was hot out (106) but being in the water made it bearable. The water slides and splash pad are great for kids.
The room was spacious and clean. The only downfall was the remote control for the TV didn’t work too well. It went up in channels but not down.
I always utilize the gym at a hotel and it has quite a few machines to chose from and it fit all fitness needs.
I would definitely love to come back and stay at this hotel.

A gorgeous property overwhelmed by a influx of low-​class patrons. We brought our granddaughter here with hopes that the pool/​water park feel/​theme would be fun for her.
Instead, we found a grossly overpopulated public pool that was so filthy you couldn’t see the bottom. The crowd was thick, like a beach on the 4^th of July (on a Tuesday). The staff; young, underpaid, over-​stimulated, and ZERO interest in customer service (I honestly can’t blame them). The room was nice at first glance but has these little bugs EVERYWHERE, and the front desk just dismissed it as inconsequential. I’ll attach pictures.
Not a relaxing or fun experience at all.

I originally only came here for the water park for my son. The set up is nice and the valet attendants were very friendly. The front desk receptionist seemed a bit off and though she gave me the wrong information on PS traffic, my time with her wasn’t long enough to talk crap about her bland personality on here.
When we arrived to our room, I was impressed. Spacious and they offered great towels! They were so soft, softer than the ones I have at home! I was a bit annoyed about the flies in my room, though.
Splashtopia wasn’t as big as I thought it was going to be. The servers were non existent and slow to get around to our area. We had to flag one down and when we did, she said she’d send the girl for our section over. It took over 20 minutes. Although once we did order, she brought everything out quickly but once I signed the bill, I never saw her again.
The crowd was a bit unpleasant, lots of Inland Empire types, bellies hanging over their swim trunks and rowdy, disrespectful kids.
The lazy river was clean enough to sit in, which we all enjoyed. The two slides available were fun! I’d definitely want to come back but not on a holiday weekend.
I wish I could ask for their occupancy demographic before I book my stay!

*Pool grounds were super dirty trash and spilt drinks that have been there for days cuz they were all dried up.
*every employee had something different to say one example among many… When entering the pool the attendant asked to check my purse for food (I had chips) so I went to my room to put them back then when I returned a new guy was there asking to check my purse for glass!
*polices are stupid I couldn’t bring my chips in the pool area because they didn’t want logos… Really?!

Absolutely beautiful retreat and spa!
Fun for the whole family We stayed here and loved it!
We had a beautiful suite with a gorgeous view and balcony.
The hotel has a splashtopia waterpark with water slides and a lazy river. Fun fun although the kiddies didn’t come this trip, I got down with the best of them children and enjoyed myself! They also offer cabanas for xtra but no kiddies no need this stay.
There is also a adult pool with a bar yummy and of the tropical variety. The resort has many areas to lounge equipped with lovely outdoor furniture and pretty little firepits that glisten like diamonds!
They offer a full spa facility with essential botanical oils. and a beautiful golf course.
The restaurant BluEmber I unfortunately did not try but looked perfectly lovely.

I throughly enjoyed myself and was very pleased with my sweetheart for surprising me with this much needed little retreat!

Stayed here during a company vacation/​trip. The resort is a lot bigger and nicer than what I expected. All the staff and workers were creepily (in a good way) friendly and always smiling. They have a few pools, water slides, lazy river and a golf course. Our stay included wrist bands to go to Splashtopia so of course I went into the lazy river and hot tubs — it was nothing special but it was relaxing.
My only complaint is that the bath tub on our room was clogged… but overall hotel was super clean and staff was friendly. Plenty of parking and check-​in and check-​out was relatively easy.
