Pavich’s Brick Oven Pizzeria

I’ve been going there for a few years. It’s changed ownership, but I haven’t noticed the changes that the other Unilocalers are referring to. Lee, the new Owner seems like he has it under control, but seems to get frustrated with customers, but I understand because most of the time he’s by himself. He’s genuinely a good guy who works very hard and cares about his patrons. I will continue to patronize.

Pizzas great I met Mr. Pavich, the owner, really nice guy. Him and mr. Lee helped me while they were very busy with a huge catering order.
Nice going into a place where the people working seem to really care about what they do.
Definitely coming back.

Even though the poor guy working the place was all alone, we got our two pizzas quickly and they were mighty tasty. Very friendly worker.
We had the Croatian and the meatball pizza, both were delicious!

Really good Pizza! I Did not care for the beef Prosciutto, I would recommend substituting pepperoni or something instead. That is just my opinion though. Regardless it was still delicious!

Under new ownership and the pizza is not even close to being the same. Stopped by and was stunned to see a new name and signage going up, but the new owner seemed nice and I was hungry, so I gave it a try. First, the crust is nowhere near the same tasty, thin and slightly chewy crust I had enjoyed for some 10 years. This crust is not slightly chewy and not at all tasty. Next, not sure how they did this, but the sauce was also tasteless and there was very little of it on the pizza. Then there’s the cheese. Before, there was just the right amount of cheese and it was fresh and tasty. Now there is not enough cheese and it tastes old. Finally, there were very few veggie toppings on my pizza – I couldn’t believe how stingy the new owner is on the toppings. Overall, I’m never going back.

In San Pedro, we have a number of excellent pizza places to choose from, but Pavich’s is my new FAVORITE! Their pizza is so fresh, and made with excellent ingredients. I just wish they offered delivery so I could order more frequently.

The original owner was gone. I wished the new owner had re-​introduced himself instead of telling me there was no change with ownership. Ordered Mercedes. Pizza is not the same. They have gotten very skimpy with the toppings on their pizza along the edges. There were very few artichokes on the outer slices, for example. Will not visit again.

The best pizza hands down. I have eaten a lot of pizza and even though they do not deliver, i am happy to drive the quick 5 minutes to pick up the pie. Try them. You will not be disappointed.

I’m right In-​between 3.5 and 4 stars. So I rounded up. It is indeed under new ownership, however I could not tell the difference between the pizza from the previous guy and this guy. I ding this place on price (the pizza is ridiculously expensive) and ambiance. It looks and feels like it opened up a week ago — and it definitely has been here longer than a week. The pizza is good. I’ll give it that, real good. But it’s pricey and the place leaves a lot to be desired if you eat in.

There is a new owner and the pizza is not the same. This is directed to the new owner. You should try and mimic the old owner’s pizza. They had the best pizza in town. Your pizza had the wrong mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce was wrong, and didn’t taste like it was wood fired. With some changes you can do well.

YES! This is one of my favorite places to come for pizza. Their pizzas are always fresh and warm, right out of the oven. I feel like the toppings here are more varied and of a higher quality than most other places I can think of. I especially enjoy their Croatian pizza with the beef prosciutto. The man who makes the pizza (perhaps the owner, too) is always friendly and nice, making you feel welcome.
Come here for your brick over pizza, seriously!

Always delicious. Always friendly. Love the San Pedro. I get that and a salad and it feeds the whole family! Just wished they delivered but that’s a lot to ask for a small business. Love them!

Do yourself a favor and order yourself a pizza! Got the Mercedes and it was SO GOOD! We ate inside and Lev was such a sweet heart, he suggested the best pizza and made it absolutely delicious. The crust was the perfect crispy-​soft and the ingredients were fresh and in the perfect proportions. I’ve had a lot of pizza in my life but this one takes the cake! My new favorite pizza place for sure. Bye, bye Dominoes!

So I was getting my tire fixed the other day and I walked over to Pavitch’s. I had about an hour and 45 minutes to spare while my tire was being repaired next-​door. I was tired, I just finished a job interview and my family was basically ignoring me as usual. My wife was out of town and I had too much work to do to start calling friends. So there I was, watching CNN and all the worlds problems pouring out on the news. What I will remember about this restaurant, strangely, is not just the pizza but the atmosphere. However, I didn’t expect to finish the whole pizza. I don’t know, to this day if it was, hunger, anger or the beginning of an eating disorder, that made me finish it, but I remember that it one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

Definitely one of the best pizza! Perfect crispy thin crust with just the right blend of tomato sauce, cheese and generous share of pepperoni. Love Paviche’s! On nights we don’t feel like cooking their pizza always hit the spot. Fresh from the brick oven. Will always be our choice of pizza. I wish they’re open on Mondays, specially now for Monday night football.

I’m so glad I placed an order here. Absolutely delicious. We got the Longshoreman pizza and I wish we got 2 of them! Their brick oven is a masterpiece. Their pizza was so flavorful, rustic, and the toppings were top notch. I advise everyone to grub here. Next time I will get a sandwich ad well.

My car broke down on the way to dinner. I was just hanging out/​loitering in their parking lot.
This is just to say thank you to the guy working inside who offered to let me use their phone to call a tow truck company (I’m sure I prevented a lot of business calls from being answered), and for offering me some iced tea. And he wasn’t just nice to me, he was super cool with every other customer– personable, making jokes, helpful and patient.
If I didn’t have a dinner planned, I totally would have eaten here. It smelled incredible and was pretty busy with takeout and dine in orders. Looks like the mixed pizzas and calzones caught my eye. I love me some bread and cheesey goodness.
Places that are kind without expecting anything in return deserve recognition. I wouldn’t have made it through today without a meltdown if it wasn’t for you guys letting me hang out inside your restaurant waiting for the truck. Thank you so much for your unconditional hospitality, I don’t know how else to thank you aside from this! I will be back! (Hopefully with a car that works)

Took my picky 7 year old and my 16 month old here for a late lunch on Friday I ordered a large pepperoni and one side I added jalapeños and two drinks for like 20 $ that was a deal to me the pizza was AMAZINGLY cheesy and just so yummy my daughter ate like five slices the employee there was super nice even cut up the pizza in small slices for my daughter and I didn’t even think to ask for that first time I actually sat down and ate and I will definitely be doing it more once again I was VERY please with my food and service!

Ended up in San Pedro kind of by accident, so I figured I’d eat lunch while I was here. Pulled up the Unilocal app and this was both the closest to my location and most highly rated. Stars align! So I pulled in just as, I think, the owner was lugging a huge bag of pizzas out of the store into a vehicle. He very sincerely apologized to me that they just opened and he had a huge catering order to deliver, but to come on in and his staff would take my order.
I took the advice of several other Unilocalers and got the San Pedro (minus the meat due to dietary preferences). The lone employee happily took my order and told me it would be 10 minutes. A couple other people walked in, one carry-​out and one small group for order-​in. He was very attentive to everyone. He brought up my pizza and opened the box to show it to me (not familiar with such a practice, but it looked delicious so I suppose it’s fine by me!), then I paid for my meal.
I had ordered it to-​go, but then decided to eat it there. I ate about one slice before the employee asked me if I wanted napkins or anything. I said sure, and he brought me napkins, a plate and some silverware, smiling at me and saying «you should have told me it was for here!» I ate a few more slices (I couldn’t stop, it was so delicious!), and left with a big smile on my face.
Pizza and service were above and beyond. I’d give them 6 stars if I could.
