So happy with the work done here! I’m new to the area and needed a full sequin dress altered for a wedding. It came out so good! I had the dress back in a week and a half with a holiday weekend! For a very complicated sequined dress the work is perfection I will definitely be coming here again and they do dry cleaning!

I’ve been trying out different tailors and finally came to Timmy. Dropped some pants off to get repaired as a test run and he exceeded my expectations. Also a real cool and personal guy. I’ll now be bringing my suits in for alterations and continue to do business here.

Timmy is wonderful. He did an amazing job on my wedding gown, with numerous alterations as I bought it 3 sizes to big. Having worked with Timmy before I knew he would be able to transform my gown to exactly what I wanted and he went above and beyond. He also did the alterations for almost everyone in the wedding party. I would highly recommend Timmy to any bride or anyone with alteration needs. (My husband loves him too and Timmy takes care of all his work clothes.)

I gave Timmy a half suede half leather dress & sized it perfectly in 2 days. His service is amazing. He’s very friendly, and very honest. The prices are a bit high, but I’m positive you will be satisfied with his detailed work.

Needed a coat I loved altered. Checked Unilocal.Saw Tim. Sized me up. Scheduled pickup. Mike is happy. Fast reasonable price. Will definitely use again.

I am visiting from Hawaii. My family lives around here, and a friend recommended Timmy to alter my two new dressy outfits for a family wedding. My new clothes always need altering because I had bilateral mastectomies fifteen years ago for an unusual breast cancer (and I’m still happily here!)
Timmy did a marvelous job on both outfits. I brought him a favorite 30-​year-​old silk two-​piece outfit — -he fixed it all up like new.
Today I am bringing him 4 pairs of slacks that need shortening. You can assume 5 stars on those too, unless I Unilocal otherwise when I pick them up.

Timmy is the best when it comes to hemming, alterations, rips, tears, stains, and anything else your clothes can endure.
I’ve had bridesmaid dresses, pants, skirts, jackets, etc. altered here and Timmy does a phenomenal job.
The only down-​side is that sometimes the turn-​around time can be a week, and he is a little on the expensive side, but the price matches the quality!

I love going to Timmy to get alterations done! I’ve been bringing stuff to Timmy since my Junior Prom!
I’m a musician and need to have dresses, black pants, and buying nice clothes frequently really puts restrictions on my wallet. I wait until the dress is on sale to buy, but you won’t always get your size.
I’m in between a zero and a three depending on the store, and 9 times out of 10 something won’t fit right somewhere. I bring it to Timmy and he fixes it.
I just brought in a White House Black Market piece and he did an AMAZING job. You would never know it was taken in. Only 3 days and of course the price was right: D

My recent experience with Timmy the tailor was so incredibly negative that I feel compelled to post my feedback. I will never return here for alterations and certainly would not recommend Timmy the tailor to anyone I know. I brought my Robert Geller pants and Band of Outsider shirt that I bought at Barneys. I specifically stated that I wanted the hem to be folded inwards an inch and the shirt needed the buttons to be sewed in (a simple tailoring job). The attendant told me that it would be ready in a week and received a ticket. When I came back a week later the hem looked horrible, it was folded inwards seven inches, which was not was I specified. Furthermore, the shirt, was not even ready, Timmy said to wait ten minutes, while he iron the shirt, which was also awful. The attendant, lacked customer service, she was on her cell phone, arguing «to stop call me at work.» which was unprofessional. In addition, Timmy also lacks communication and customer service skills.
If you have any couture clothing, jeans, suits, dresses (prom dress), please do not bring it to him, it will end up costing you more and wasting your time. There are other tailoring establishments in Randolph that charge the same and tailor your clothing in 24hrs, and even iron your clothing.

Timmy just opened up a store connected to the cleaners. I believe it’s used close or consignments but you can find some good things in here if you look. Men and women clothes. They had some nice button ups with a tie for men and they even have prom dresses here.

I was just looking up Timmy’s number when I came across these reviews and I’m shocked at those first two. I’m wondering if they went to another one in town called Tony the Tailor although I don’t want to bad mouth him cause I don’t know him at all. Timmy is FABULOUS! I’m in the process of having him make a dress for me for a wedding, could I have bought in a store, sure but I wanted something very special and I knew Timmy was the man for the job! He’s made other things for me in the past and I just say I’d like xyz and he’ll just whip it up, he’s amazing. I’m not a kid, believe me I’ve been to many Tailors over the years, by the way the whole wedding party for this wedding I’m going to are bring their dresses here for their alterations, disregard those other two, I think they were at another Tailor shop!

Timmy is a really nice and very pleasant guy — and the tailoring might be just fine for hemming jeans or other simple stuff, but I wouldn’t recommend them for anything more challenging. I had several expensive suits and a blazer done there, and the results — puckery seams, sleeves too short, lumpy cuffs on the pants — are a real let-​down. Guess I’ll have to keep making the trip to Boston.

Since my new silk dress only had to be shortened and I needed a quick turnaround, I decided to take a chance with Timmy the Tailor based on the one review (and the fact that there were no other reviews for any other tailors in my area). The consultation was quick. I tried on the dress, he chalked it and I was done. After picking up the dress, I examined the hem and noticed there were a few spots that seemed to go astray and then recovered. But, for $ 12, I was satisfied overall with the job.
Thinking my search for a local tailor that offers quality work at reasonable prices was finally over, I brought two other dresses in that had been sitting in my closet. To my dismay, the dresses were hacked. Seriously, any 8^th grader taking a sewing class could have done a better job!
Dress #1 — I got a great bargain on a gray cotton stretch summer dress at the Gap, so I didn’t think twice about paying to get it hemmed for my vertically challenged build. Unfortunately, I am going to end up paying more to get it fixed than it cost me to buy the dress!
What went wrong?
1. The original hem had a double over-​edge type stitch; it was not folded up, so it had more of an unfinished look. When I got the dress back, he had changed the hem by folding it up and using a straight stitch. That was really annoying, but I was willing to live with it, BUT…
2. With the straight stitch, he didn’t even fold in the fabric which is pretty standard since the fabric will begin to fray if you don’t.
3. The hem was uneven so that it was slightly longer on one side.
4. The worse part was the fabric was stretched too much during the stitching that it created wrinkles because the stitch bunched up when it was draped. It’s so horrible that I have to invest more money to bring it to another tailor to get it fixed.
Dress #2 — I’ve had this double layer black sheer dress for years and have never worn it because it was too long. This dress was not hacked as bad. The quality of work was just not very good. He did not fold in the hem and the stitches were not consistent in length.
So, I pretty much just paid someone twenty bucks to screw up two of my dresses so that I still can’t wear them. What happened to the days when people actually cared and put effort into the work they do? So, what do I do now? I’m going to buy my own sewing machine and learn how to do my own alterations.

Timmy is the most amazing tailor. I’ve been going to Timmy since I was 16 (that would make it 15+ years) — from before he opened his own shop «Timmy the Taylor». I am really really small (under 5 feet and skinny). Yeah, yeah when you are done saying mentally that I need to shut my piehole about being too small… my point is I have to get everything tailored. Nothing fits me off the rack.
Timmy works magic. There are no traces that the item had been tailored once he is done. The item just drapes on you like it was made for you. Over the years I’ve taken everything and anything to him from khakis to evening gowns, tank tops to suits.
The best thing about Timmy — if he can’t work it, he’ll tell you if it isn’t worth trying to tailor. But I can only think of 2x that he wasn’t able to work with it.
Timmy will remember if you consistently tell him that you like things a little looser fit, a little tighter fit. Or for example, I like my sleeves a little long. He remembers all that — make sure to tell him. And if by chance, it’s not quite right when you pick it up — he’ll fix it. Just tell him.
The one thing I have not tried with Timmy is original hem on jeans.
Basically, Timmy is a genius when it comes to clothing fit. He knows how things should fit and drape, but he’ll totally take into account your preferences.
