The wait was not overly crazy. But we arrived right before a rush. Our server was friendly but odd. The dinning room was nothing too special and needed some cleaning and renovation. To use a credit card you need to go over one building to the gift shop, which seems a little unnecessary. The food its self is average at best, and very overpriced. The coffee may very well be brown water with coffee flavoring. The premises is interesting with a beautiful carving of a native, and a unique bench. The gift shop is over priced, especially since across the street the gift shop is dramatically cheaper. The eternal tree house is interesting, but nothing too worthwhile. I would not stop here unless you need breakfast, even then hour shoe over a fire might better suffice.

The café is within The Avenue of the Giants. There weren’t a lot of other options around. Indoor or outdoor seating is available. My friend and I shared a mushroom bacon Swiss burger. It was good, but pricy. I really liked the onion rings though, crispy without being oily. The Eternal Tree House onsite was cool(temperature wise), but nothing you must stop and check out.

We waited over an hour for lunch, they were slightly busy but nothing like an hour’s worth of busy. The food was bland and greasy. The waitress was apologetic and said the boss’ wife was cooking. The gift shop and treehouse are nothing to stop for. It’s just rural and expensive.

Ok guys… Don’t be tricked by the nameThis is not what you think. It is not a tree house you can go inside and eat in. It is a tree with a door on it. The café is probably good but just wanted to let everybody know.

Yeah, it’s super cheesy but the Eternal Treehouse is FREE. At first I thought it said 20 room inside and I was ready to be impressed but then was super confused when I saw it until someone informed me the sign said 20FOOT room. Felt a little like a hobbit going inside. To tell the truth it’s really not worth stopping just to check out the treehouse. But if you’re stopping anyway, like for coffee, you might as well check it out. The café is kinda basic but has lowkey friendly service. You can even sit outside on the picnic tables and have them bring your food out to you. PS They have super nice bathrooms. You kinda expect a typical restroom but this is like a bathroom in a house.

The service was great, eggs prepared excellently, coffee great, but why was my side of ham so damn small! I am bitter! The ham had a honey smokey taste and it was delicious, but it was a small wedge! I ordered a side because I am on a low carb diet, so are they angry and thinking I want to save money by not getting the reg breakfast? Go somewhere else!

What a wonderfully relaxing stop! Seating is inside, surrounded by windows, or you can sit outside near the wishing well in an area that would be great for kids to run around in.(The well has a sturdy grate not too far down inside, so no worries about little ones falling in.) We had sandwiches from the very simple, diner-style menu. Our sandwiches came with our choice of chips, fries, or salad(I think macaroni); we had the fries, which were delicious. The coffee was served in a heavy mug and it was good — at that point in our travels I’d had several cups of so-so coffee, so I was pleasantly surprised. My companion made a special request for Ranch dressing for his fries and this was brought out with a smile. I noticed several cyclists taking advantage of the homey atmosphere, including one lone traveler who spent some time in conversation with the older lady who took our order and served us. I enjoyed seeing his pleasure at her well wishes for his travels. You pay for your meal in the attached gift shop. There is a restroom available which was well-kept and clean. This place is not modern, but was not rundown, just humble and well-aged. I like places that have authentic personality, so as it turns out, in 3 days of traveling around Northern California, I enjoyed the Eternal Tree House stop more than any of the other places we found to eat. RELAXING… HOMEY… REASONABLYPRICED… DECENTRESTROOM… GREATVIEWS. I will definitely stop again next time I’m traveling on the beautiful Avenue of the Giants.

We tried to grab a meal here during the NYE2012 weekend, but it said closed for the season. I’m not sure when the season ends or begins, but that was a bit of a bummer, since there are not many dining options along the Avenue of the Giants.

B. needed coffee so we stopped at Eternal Tree House Café along the Avenue of the Giants. It was just black coffee that was already made, she just poured it into a cup. He asked for milk, and the lady found some in the kitchen area & poured it. Noticed the Eternal Tree House was open & it’s FREE so went inside. Just something to read & look at quickly. Not very big or interesting. There’s a wishing well on their grounds, people toss coins into it. All for a good cause. Small gift shop next to the Café. I didn’t buy anything.

Very pleasant cook/manager made our 6-hour trip this afternoon a little easier — she made special pancakes for my daughter, served us some fantastic locally-made patty sausage and terrific biscuits, and decent coffee, too. A good price & huge servings & great service. All the bicyclists going through the Avenue of the Giants seemed to stop here, too — a very popular destination for them to fuel up, apparently. I’ll definitely stop again the next time I’m up in that neck of the woods.

Food is good for a roadtrip or break from camp cooking. Service is decent. Two nice women were running the place when we were there. They have inside and outside seating, and there is space for the kids to run around outside. You will need to pay your food bill in the gift shop!
