Beyond upset. Lynn cut my hair. My hair «was» long. It was little over booty crack length. I stressed to her that I love my long hair and I know I don’t have bad split ends. And I stressed I only want half inch to a inch cut. I was freaking out when she was cutting my hair because of how long the hair was on the ground. She put my hair in a braid when I left. Got home and took the braid out now it’s like in the middle of my back and looks like shit. I want to cry I’m so pist. Never ever again will I go back. I didn’t ask for 4 – 5 inches cut off. Beyond pist!!!

I would not recommend anyone to go to this place for color and deep conditioning hair treatment. They don’t know how to match your hair color nor listen to your details. I went in to get my hair colored for my wedding and I made sure they know exactly the color I wanted by showing a picture a day before and the day of my service. I wanted a lighter brown color for my wedding hair and they knew it was for an important event. However, my hair color was NO WHERE close to what I wanted. I tried to be understanding since I know it’s not easy to have the color perfectly match with the picture, but it came out as a dark brown/​almost black. I was extremely upset with an understanding tone, but all they said was it’s supposed to look like this and that they were not at fault. Also the reception lady said to wait couple of days and the color will change. It’s been a month and it’s still dark brown.
Never go to this place for any color services especially before your special event.
I also added on a deep conditioning hair treatment especially after coloring my hair. All they did was spray my hair, put the treatment, and wash after 5 minutes. I’ve done deep conditioning hair treatment at other places and it’s not supposed to take 5 minutes. You can do this at home without paying $ 25 dollars. My hair didn’t feel any different afterwards and they also don’t fully rinse your hair after your hair service. I had a lot of color liquids left at the back of my hair after the wash. My worst hair salon experience.

So NOT impressed. I went because I usually believe that you get what you pay for. The first thing I got was horrible customer service Then I got a hairstylist that wouldn’t even talk to me or my daughter while her hair was being cut. I’m sorry but part of what I pay for is the pampering and conversation… especially when I’m paying top dollar. The second time I went back I had to make an appointment because they were busy. That was fine. Then I got a phone call that my father was dying and I had to rush to another county. I called them respectfully to cancel and they actually gave me crap. «Well, we prefer 24 hours notice.» Seriously?! I just told you my dad was dying and I was respectfully calling, not just being a no show, and you can’t even give me your condolence? WOW ! Nope, don’t want to do business with a company who can’t even be compassionate and can’t treat me with respect. I’ll happily give my hard earned money to someone else in town… like Barbara at Beau Monde!!! They don’t get a third chance.

First timer, and definitely last! I scheduled a haircut and a deep conditioning hair treatment. I asked the receptionist to please put me with someone experienced, and she assured me she would.
I showed the stylist a picture and explained what I wanted. The hair stylist seemed tired and uninterested. She asked me if I wanted the front longer than the back and I said YES. After she blow dried my hair she asked if I wanted her to frame my face (which means to cut the hair in the front to complement my face, like layers) I said NO.
Everything was looking fine, until the very end, she pulls my front hair back and goes CHOP CHOP CHOP. The front was now significantly shorter than the back and there was layers which weren’t there before. I asked her why she did that?! and she said, thats what we agreed. I was so mad.
I went to the receptionist to pay. I explained to her what happen and she offered me a 10% discount, which equals to $ 3.
The stylist also «forgot» to do my deep condition hair treatment.
I’m a single mom who works a lot, and was really looking forward to some relaxing time. Instead, I paid $ 30 for a sloppy hair cut and bad service.
I promise it wasn’t a complex hair cut at all, and here I am 2 weeks later, waiting for my hair to grow so someone else can fix it.

Just came home from my amazing 90 min massage from Lisa and the first thing I wanted to do was write a review. I have had numerous massages and also went to massage school, and this was possibly the best massage I have ever had. I did not have to tell her to lighten her touch because she could tell in my breathing. I never let anyone do deep tissue but Lisa did an amazing job doing it in areas that very much needed it. Thank you Lisa for the most relaxing 90 mins I’ve had in a long time. The salon was beautiful and so conveniently located. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Changing stylists is hard on a gal, but i needed to. So I went in to check out the vibe here before I made an appointment.
Clean and friendly, plus a little busy. Always a good sign. I made an appointment for cut only.
Andi was sweet and easy to talk to and she cut my hair perfectly for me. I wanted a no fuss kinda doo!
Elana did my brows and I feel very pampered.

Love, love, LOVE this salon. The staff are all so nice and I think the company strives hard to educate and keep the stylists current. Jana is amazing! She listens, gives great advice, and I have always left the salon feeling pampered and pretty. I also take my 5-​year-​old daughter in to get her haircut, and everyone is always so nice and patient with her. Jana works wonders with her! Almost everyone is smiling, talking, and I love the atmosophere. A great business for Redding! The price is worth the experience and product! :)

Ah!!! Rachael was just amazing, she sculpted the new look I wanted perfectly. My hair was down to my waste and I was nervous about getting a super short asymmetrical bob done — she was very reassuring and knowledgeable. Simply put, I was in great hands, I FEEL FABULOUS, and I will be coming back.

I thought I was going to get a high end salon experience. I could have gone to a cheaper place and got the same if not better. There is a row of big beautiful mirrors and salon chairs and behind them was the hair washing tubs and a dumpy corner with two chairs and what looked like bathroom mirrors. I was sat in the dumpy corner. My stylist asked me what I wanted I even showed her a picture (I wanted highlights). My hair looks the same as when I came into the salon but with a trim. She was silent almost the whole time no small talk or how is your day? She also brushed my hair with a fine tooth comb after it was shampooed and was ripping parts out. She was not gentle at all. It was not worth $ 110 plus tip I felt obligated to give. I won’t go back.

This place has always been great, I have not been here in 4 years but when looking for a place for waxing in the area, I remembered the great experience I had had here. Danielle, the esthetician, is great. She makes the waxing experience not only bearable but pleasant (I got a bikini wax). The new location is big and has a fantastic spa vibe, is much classier than I would ever expected for Redding and also for the reasonable price. I will be going back.

I waited until I had two massages with Dawn before I wrote a review to make sure she really was as great the second time around, as she was the first time. I went in last week on a gift certificate and got Dawn by random scheduling. She was phenomenal, worked really hard on a shoulder injury that was causing my neck and whole side to tense up. She also incorporated a bit of stretching which was heavenly as were the Aveda aromatherapy oils. My husband requested her upon my recommendation and felt she really helped with some major back pain he was experiencing. It was so wonderful that I booked with her again, 5 days later. I felt so much better after her massage. She has ten years of experience, which is evident by her knowledge of the muscles and anatomy. I have had many massages at most day spas in Redding and I am here to stay. My only complaint is the hour goes by way too fast since you are in a state of bliss & relaxation, as the tension is eased away by her strong hands.
I love that Boheme has a dedicated spa at it’s new location. It is beautiful, tranquil and feels like a sanctuary. The front desk girls are efficient without being too perky, and the scent of the Aveda aroma instantly relaxes you. I love the tea they brew. In addition, the spa rooms and bathrooms are very clean yet welcoming. I look forward to getting a pedicure next week as my girlfriend had a pedicure, last week while I was getting a massage, and enjoyed it immensely. Lastly, it a huge bonus that they are open 7 days a week and on the West side which hopefully contributes to their lasting success.

I’m updating and giving a positive. My negative concerns were addressed by the company and my main concern regarding the noise level has since been corrected by adding a new spa location offsite. My first review regarding the numerous positive experiences remain, I will be a lifelong customer.

I really enjoyed my haircut at the Dana Drive location and was very happy that they did massages at their new location. My husband works at construction and He is always so tense so I thought a Renewal massage would be a really nice treat for him. It’s very modern, as well as gender neutral as well so men feel comfortable as well.
They offered me water and green tea while I waited for my husband, and have tester product from Aveda (so I got to try some of their creams).
It is so beautiful inside the spa, and the staff is so nice and make you feel so comfortable.

I have never had a successful haircut until Boheme! They offer you something to drink upon entering and have a quaint little waiting room.
I had Joy cut my hair and she was both quick and careful. She listened to what I wanted and it turned out great!
I don’t know what other salons cost, but I’d be willing to pay more money for a master stylist (like Joy) who knows what they’re doing than someone who doesn’t know proper techniques.

Haircut and color turned out amazing, Salema did a great job, the salon was really beautiful but reason why I am disappointed is because I found this place on Unilocal and noticed they had a special deal going on (which is the whole point as a business owner to bring in business) I called and asked how much partial highlights and a haircut was and was told it would be $ 105… Good deal especially if you get 25 off with the Unilocal deal. Problem is when I went to pay I was told the total was $ 125, and when I questioned why the response was maybe because there was more than one color (um no) or maybe because of the toner. Unfortunately that took away the tip I would have liked to gone to the stylist. Would have come back but don’t appreciate the hidden fee’s.

Today was my first time visiting Boheme Salon. Since its a Sunday its difficult to find an open salon. I called around 12:30 asking if they had a slot available this afternoon for an one hour massage. Katie on the phone said there was an opening at 3:15. I was so excited because the lady I always go to works Tuesday-​Friday and it’s difficult to schedule appointment since I work Monday –Friday 8 – 5.
At promptly 3:15 I met with my misuse which her name was Dawn. She was really sweet and accommodating. She first asked me what would be the focus of the massage and if I had any injuries. The massage was OK. I asked if she could spend the entire hour on my neck and back. She mainly focused on my head, face, neck, arms and shoulders. The down sides would be I felt the massage was really sporadic and she missed my lower back completely! My massage ended at 4:05 and I dressed, paid and walked out the door by 4:09 … I was under the impression I had an hour massage.
The walls are thin so you can hear the ladies in the salon talking. One of the hairstylist has an extremely loud laugh that I could hear often. The music was turned down really low perhaps it was a bit louder it would drown out the noise
The facility is really clean and they were rather friendly. They have tea and water for you to drink.
My massage was $ 65. I paid, walked out to my car and then realized I forgot to give them my 20% off coupon from Unilocal.I then walked back into the salon and asked if I could use it. The lady said «I’m sorry we’ve already processed the order, I can apply it to your next massage» I was a little frustrated. I know it’s my fault for forgetting but I hadn’t even left the parking lot! I just wonder what the owner would have done. $ 13 isn’t the end of the world to me but I can’t say id go back now. $ 13 would have been nothing for many more massages I could have purchased. I’m not one just to give something a one time chance.
I won’t be recommending this salon to my family and friends.

My 1^st cut here was ridiculously awesome. Superb job, phenomenal attention to detail, etc etc.
However…
2^nd cut I left with a very visible unfinished fade line in my hair. Ok no biggie, mistakes happen right? Went back in, & I asked to speak with the stylist. As soon as she was free Ricky happily sat me down and fixed it in a few mins. Thanks! :)
Just received my 4^th cut — and this time it’s worse! So sad :-/​Ricky you are so sweet and did such an amazing job first time — what happened? 2 out of 4 is not a good statistic :-/​
Now I’m all confused because I don’t know what to do. I’ve already went back in there once for a mess up, and she clearly acknowledged that it was a mess up. So what do I do it again lol? Won’t that just make me look like I’m the one who has the problem and it’s not just another mess up? Even though it’s clearly another mess up lol? (This is one of those awkward life moments that you just have to deal with hahaha)
To make matters worse, then there’s the fact that you cut of 60% of my hair! !?$@%# lol
Wow it should have been a trim, 25% at max… We discussed this heavily, I even showed you a picture. Why oh why?

I was so trying to figure out what happened… Where did things go so wrong? Maybe it was the interruption? At one point the front desk came over and said «your next appointment is here and waiting for you». After that it seemed like she went into overdrive and rushed. Ok that’s not cool to make them wait but dang, I’m the one in the seat. I was there on time. I made an appointment. And this is a $ 30 men’s cut… AND I TIPPED 30%! Did I get bamboozled? The Shanghai? The Kansas City shuffle? Lol
I’ll give it 2 stars simply because she was such a friendly and outgoing and happy and nice person. Ricky your a sweetheart and I’m super glad to have made your acquaintance. But I don’t know what’s going on with my hair because apparently you’re having a hard time with it LOL.
To the kid behind the counter with whom I spoke upon returning today to ask about getting my hair fixed: you were polite. You were calm. And you ultimately referred me to your manager… But honestly you could’ve done a lot better. Perhaps allowed me to sit down and wait until the stylist was free to talk with real quick and go from there. And second, based on your responses it really seems like you were just trying to take sides. This is not a fade — We agreed on that. There are lines on the side of my head! For you to sit there and look at me and say «I think your cut is a nice haircut» when there’s obviously lines that are unequal on both sides that you acknowledged — well that is really a coy way of patronizing me at that point. Not cool dude.
Boheme I thought we had a lifelong few ship. Now I’m just sad and skeptical :(

If there’s one thing in a life anyone with a sense of fashion and style is wary of — it’s finding a new stylist! And alas I have moved and need to find new EVERYTHING lol.
The trepidations were there… The tension was strong… And as I sat in the chair, knowing the size of this entire city is roughly the size of my last community I lived in lol, after glancing over her well designed arm art and glittering facial adornments, I felt some sense of ease knowing she has a sense of style the permeates far beyond these hills lol.
First impression:
1^st time here. So far so good! They did have to reschedule 2x (boo) so I can’t give 5*s on principle.
Promptness of service:
Rescheduled 2x :-/​once was for a whole other day. The other for later in the day.
However once I arrived I was seen within about 5 minutes.
Friendliness:
Polite front desk. Offered water or tea upon check in.
Quality of service:
Ricky was great! Finding a new stylist is always tough and rather nerve racking :-O but she listened intently and DEF knew what she was talking about! No faker here! Girls got talent ;)
Value for money:
$ 30 for a men’s cut w/​wash. That is pretty close to going rate. Slightly above average, but considering it’s also a spa that’s where I assume the price hike is coming from. I wouldn’t pay more than $ 30 let’s put it that way lol. But good value for quality of cut I received from Ricky.
Final thoughts:
I will be back! Totally a place that is trying to be ‘on the trendy edge’, but the town is so small that the area just isn’t quite big-​city to warrant such a spa… Na’mean? But still it was a good overall experience :)
Again it’s always super hard finding a new place to have your hair done. But so far so good. Ricky has a great demeanor and I think it might go smoothly for our future. I don’t want to count my chickens before their hatched — but to my old stylist in Diego… I think I might have found a match made just for me! HAHAHAHA you know what I mean — my new stylist! Time will tell.

Rikki is great! I usually bounce around to different girls in this salon, and they are always very good. After having Ricki a few times for cut and color, I feel like I’ve found the one. Highly recommend her. She really listens when you tell her what you want. Thanks Rikki !

This was my first experience at Bohème and it was great! I always heard good things about this establishment, and after Unilocaling it, I decided to give it a try. I usually get a one on the sides with a three at the top. I also get assymetrical lines (three lines on my left side) and brought in a picture in hopes to be replicated.
I had Elana as my stylist and she is awesome! She got everything right and was very personable as well. She did a nice fade and my sides were crisp and precise. She is really meticulous and I highly recommend her. Her talent correlates with the level of experience she has. She deserves a raise!
On top of the haircut, this place is also very clean and the ambience was very nice. The staff, overall, was very welcoming as well.

I’ve come here many times and thought I’d write a review (although I may have already done so in the past) on behalf of my husband’s visit and mine as well as.
My husband sees Rikki for every visit. She is always kind and listens to every request he has about his haircut. I finally got him coming to Boheme after a few years of convincing. Once he had the «moment of relaxation»… He was hooked! Now he recommends this salon to all his friends and refuses to see anyone other than Rikki.
Yesterday I saw Victoria. She was new to the salon buy handled my haircut like she was one of the pros. At first she seemed quiet and reserved. Her professionalism in the field gave me confidence. I will be sure to mention that she is the most gentle hair stylist I’ve ever had! She never pulled my hair or was rough. The shampoo was so relaxing. Although she could have been a little more aggressive for my preference during the scalp/​shoulder/​neck massage… I was still very happy with my end result!
Prior to my haircut I saw Megan for my makeup, as I was having some photos taken. She was so nice and gentle as well. My makeup was so beautiful and conservative, just like I asked. I definitely plan on returning to see her in the spa for a facial or wax.
Lastly, I’d like to comment on the owner, Aly. I feel as tho she is one of the top business owners I’ve seen. She has trained her staff well in customer service. I always see her there every time I come in, even on her off days. Every time I see her she smiles at the customers and ensures that they’re comfortable and happy. She has answered my phone calls a few times and both her and Thomas always have excellent phone etiquette.
I love Boheme and will continue to recommend it to all my family and friends.
