Established in 1960, and still going strong more than 50 years later. We aim to let everyone feel welcome in our shop. We have three barbers that are happy to help you in getting the real barbershop experience. Specializing in mens haircuts, finished off with a shave around the ears. Sorry, we do not do face shaves, due to it being our secret, you’ll have to come in to find out.

We are all walk in, so no appointment is necessary.

History

Established in 1960.

The barber shop originally opened in 1960 in a small building on the corner of Cypress, and Athens by a man named Johnny. In 1967 the construction of Cypress Square Shopping Center had been completed, and the barber shop moved into the building where it still sits today. That year also marked the change of owners when Johnny sold it to his nephew Ray, and it became Rays Barber Shop. Ray owned and operated the shop until 1992 when he retired. He sold it to DC, a barber that had worked here for a few years in the early 70’s, and returned to work with Ray shortly before he retired. The shop now became Cypress Square Barber Shop, with the motto/​nickname of «Mans Last Stronghold». In 1994 DC’s son Tim came to work with him in the shop, and they have been working together as business partners, and more importantly working together as friends.

And the story continues, but who knows what the future may hold.
