Gas 4 Less

Went to this gas station I think because it was off I-​5 and we were heading North coming from the Bay Area. I’m not sure if the address is correct, but it was off Cypress Ave on the Left a few blocks/​miles.
We didn’t use the bathroom, just gassed up. They had squeegee to wash the windows so we like them.
Not sure if friend paid cash or not.

I have been going to gas 4 less for over 7 years and never have a problem. 3^rd post Ryan C. I think he’s a liar. His problem for throwing this business under the bus is:# 1. he has a girlfriend,#2. He has NO CAR! which makes him look like what he said «Scum» to the restaurant he left his girlfriend at when he was short of money. #3. he blames the unheard of over charge over $ 50.00+ loss? Atm’s & Credit Company’s do not take «All You Money»!. He probably did too much weed, got gas then went for burgers & forgot how much he spent on «More Weed, Munchies Etc.» This Boy needs to get a car & get a life. If Credit company’s ripped off everyone they would get sued right & left and be out of business. Ans. Keep a log when you get loaded and check yourself before you wreck yourself by throwing businesses under the bus. I like this station they save me over $ 500 a year in gas with a $ 40 savings every month.

Cheap gas but you have to pay a 35 cents fee on debit. The cheap Indian guy at the cash register was rude and also no «public restroom»; he tells me to «take my shit out in the back or do it somewhere else».
So I went to Safeway Gas which was 5 cents more but since I have a Safeway card, I got a 10 cents off per gallon. Ends up to the cheapest gas station in Redding… and yes, they have a restroom. :D

Cheap gas. That’s pretty much the only good thing I have to say. One particular experience soured Gas 4 Less for me permanently.
We were on our way to Red Robin to sit down to burgers the size of our heads. I had planned to wash said cow sandwich down with a nice pint of Guinness. We were in a borrowed car, so I figured I would do the owner’s a favor and put a little fuel in the tank, and Gas 4 Less is cheapest so…
I had a little over 100 bucks in the bank. I swiped my card, accepted the .35 cent fee, and was greeted to a declined card. Weird, but I figured I would pump some gas after the meal.
I checked my phone to make sure my balance was indeed where it was supposed to be, and it was. We sat down to the giant burgers we were so anticipating.
The check came. A giftcard my sister gave me for Christmas paid for most of it. I still owed them about $ 5 which I put on the bank card. The waiter came back. «Uh, this was declined. Do you have another form of payment?»
Crap.
I told my wife to wait here while I ran to the Bank down the road.
At the bank, I discover that Gas 4 Less charged a gigantic pre-​authorization of exactly the sum of what was left in my bank account. Was warned that Gas 4 Less is «The worst gas station.» and to «Never go there.»
Effectively, I had left my wife in the restaurant, alone, and with no way to go back and pay the bill.
The teller sympathized with my plight, however, and issued a temporary reinstatement of about $ 50 bucks. I pulled out a 20, and ran back to the restaurant. Paid the remaining bill, and left a big tip for their trouble. Turns out the manager asked if she was ok, and asked if he could get her anything, like more fries or something. She declined, but they were nice to her. I felt a bit like scum.
I know a lot of gas stations have pre-​authorizations, but most of them are prompt about it. Gas 4 Less has the largest pre-​authorization of any gas station I have ever seen, and they are slow as molasses charging it back. It’s been over 24 hours, and the money still has yet to be returned.
Also, I noticed no signage informing customers of such a gigantic pre-​authorization charge. Had I seen such a sign, I guarantee I would not have attempted to pump gas there. Maybe that was the point all along.
Now, I don’t personally own a vehicle, so I drive very little. I have a bike which gets me where I need to go. After this, I am reminded, at least partially, why.

Cheap Gas, but debit card or cash only. They charge 35 cent fee for debit card use so you are pretty much forced to use cash.

In perhaps my shortest review ever, I will say this: Gas 4 Less pumps the cheapest petrol that hubby and I found on our road trip through California. Although not the cleanest joint, and with no visible amenities, this was an easy stop in Redding and is located very close to Grilla Bites – a great lunch place on campus.
