We were on our way home from a traveling weekend. We stopped here for an early dinner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager. He had a huge welcoming smile on his face and sat us right away. Our server, Kortnee was FANTASTIC. Smiling and super friendly the entire time. I had the chicken fried steak. My wife had a half rack of ribs. Good sized portions so you had better be hungry! Too big to have desert. Maybe next time. Our meals were served piping hot and the flavors were great! Definitely a great place to have a meal and we will definitely stop here again the next time we pass through.

Been here a few times and really enjoy their breakfast. Had lunch here once, and the French dip was not that great, but I love coming for breakfast. Big portions of food and the biscuits are huge. Some of the best biscuits and gravy in the area in my opinion. Servers have been consistently friendly. Would recommend it to others if looking for a place to get a great breakfast.

My husband loves GOOD corned beef hash for breakfast which has been hard to find. Lumberjack’s, you knocked it out of the park! Crispy just like Mama used to make, we’ll be back!

We come to Lumber Jacks every time we’re in Redding. The portions are big, the menu is diverse American, the food is really good and the servers are busy but attentive.

We discovered this place through Travelodge when we came up here to look for an apartment. I fell in love! I’m shocked they don’t have 5 stars! First of all, their portions are incredibly HUGE! Their prices are very low for how much food your getting. My favorite is the griddler sampler. It comes with 3 mini pancakes(which are really an average sized because their usual sizes are huge), two pieces of French toast, a banana French toast, eggs(I usually substitute for hashbrowns), and 2 sausage or bacon. You get all of this for around $ 12!!! At Denny’s, one piece of French toast with eggs and hashbrowns is $ 7! The prices are great, and the food is to die for. Their pancakes are very sweet and smell wonderful. Don’t get me started on the sausage… They really know how to make sausage! It’s not those tiny little sausages, these are huge! We are also always treated wonderfully and the waitresses are always there to fill our drinks! I highly recommend this place.

I have had breakfast here every day since arriving in town. The food is good, portions are more than adequate and the staff members have been as nice and helpful as could be. The coffee was good and the wait staff checked on us constantly to be sure our needs were met.

Really excellent service. The manager Eduardo is super friendly and the waitresses really try their best. Went there just with the specific purpose of having their chocolate cake. It is described as a huge slice a cake and they are not kidding it is a super duper large slice of cake! Enough to feed like four people. It comes with fudge and ice cream. As far as chocolate cake goes it tastes like chocolate cake nothing particularly amazing about it but if you like chocolate cake then you’ll like.

Went to Lumberjacks to enjoy a prime rib sandwich the other night and lo and behold they cut about a third off the sandwich what’s that all about. It still tasted good but a third less. Disappointed don’t know if I want to go back again. What else have they trimmed back portion wise. The prices are still the same.

What a great place! It was a busy Saturday morning but we were seated right away. I ordered the cinnabon french toast and my husband had a skillet. Our server was Kari who did a great job. Kim came by with coffee refills never leaving me with an empty cup. looking forward to going back. Friendly service and a fair price.

Much like many others, we stayed at Travelodge and had a free breakfast at Lumberjacks. I guess some people have received poor service as a result of coming from Travelodge but we had no issues whatsoever. We stopped by bright and early, pretty close to opening time as we had to get on the road. We ended up not choosing items from their list reserved exclusively for Travelodge customers and just paid the difference for whatever we did want. I ordered the Meat Lover’s Skillet with a side of biscuit and gravy. Among the other dishes ordered at our table were Chicken Fried Steak, Jill’s Pesto Omelet, and a couple of your standard ‘eggs, meat, and hash brown’ plates. I really enjoyed the Meat Lover’s Skillet which had a lot of flavor from all the different types of meat. I had plenty of leftovers for the road! The biscuit, however, was very disappointing. I can’t put my finger on why exactly but it was extremely dry and just not good at all. The service was average. Nothing bad but nothing to praise. We placed our order and received it in a reasonable amount of time. The prices are fair. I loved the ambiance and the iconic lumberjack out front is a perfect photo op. Overall, I would definitely come back for the skillet.

My wife and I travel through Redding twice every six weeks and Lumberjacks has become our breakfast and dinner first choice. Large bone in slice of ham with eggs is first rate. Dinner, every choice has been an ample size and with consistent good flavor. Prices are right in line with the quality and quick delivery. Service — we have never had the same server twice and every server has been bright, cheerful, professional and attentive. Who ever is doing the training is right on the money. It is wonderful to know that after 9 – 10 hours on the road I will be well fed and well cared for.

Outstanding breakfast, sausage patties were excellent. Great service and atmosphere. Somewhat noisy do the amount of people waiting for a Saturday breakfast. So far this is the best place in Redding for a perfect and very reasonable breakfast. We will try it for lunch the next time we are in Redding!

Good food, good variety on the menu. I had the Jill’s Pesto Omelette, it was great, stuffed with veggies and a bowl of fresh fruit. Hubby had a cheese burger the size of his head. See pictures. We were pleased with the food, cleanliness, service and overall vibe. We will return.

The reason why this place has such a low review rating is definitely not for lack of ambiance, or lack of variety on this menu. In fact, the place is charming, and the establishment is clean. The problem is either they don’t hire enough waitresses, or because they are incompetent. I honestly can’t tell because they seem to be pretty good at getting everything else for everyone else, just now us. Could it be because we’re the only culturally blended family in the establishment, though my money is on the fact that we’re here to get a free breakfast with our stay at Travelodge. I seriously doubt the food is going to be all that good based on what I see, but the portions are really huge, if you’re into that. Tip: hide your blue ticket from Travelodge until the waitress is ready to take your order. Maybe they’ll be nicer and attentive to you until then. :)

I was looking for a good place to load up on some breakfast before heading out to Turtle Bay and this place popped up on my Unilocaldar. The reviews where a bit shaky, but I liked the name and the promise of big portions at cheap prices. Plus, I’m not afraid to try out places with mediocre reviews. After all, you never know when you’ll find a hidden gem. So I loaded up the family and headed over. We like to order a nice smattering of items to really get a feel for a place. We ordered Coffee, Chicken-Fried Steak(CFS) & Eggs, Griddle Sampler and a side of Bacon. Here is the breakdown: Coffee– The coffee came in a huge cup which was nice, because I didn’t need a refill the entire time. Unfortunately, part of the reason I didn’t need a refill was not just the size of the cup but because it was below-standard diner coffee. It lacked body and boldness. 2.5* Chicken-Fried Steak & Eggs– The CFS breakfast came with scrambled eggs, «loaded» country potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit. The CFS was super salty and pretty generic tasting.; the eggs were crunchy and over-cooked; the country potatoes were flavorless and under-cooked; and the buttermilk biscuit was actually pretty good. 1.5* Griddle Sampler– This came with over-medium eggs, French Toast, Flap Jacks(aka Pancakes), Banana-Nut French Toast and Bacon. The eggs were cooked OK; Flap Jacks tasted like your average out-of-the-box mix; French Toast had a nice Cinnamon flavor; Banana-Nut French Toast were OK; and the bacon was very good. 3* Side of Bacon– They serve Applewood smoked Bacon here at Lumberjacks and I think that might be my favorite type. As I stated earlier these were quite good and they got my toddler’s seal of approval(he’s quite the bacon connoisseur!) I would’ve prefered they be cut a little thicker, but that’s a minor quibble. 4* Unfortunately, all the food was pretty mediocre to awful which is not conducive to a second visit here and thus the 2-star rating. Which is a shame, because they’re very generous with their portions and sides; the service was great; and the prices were fantastic! But, in the end it’s all about the food.
