McDonald’s Budget Printing

I love this place! affordable, and very friendly people. This is my go to printing place.

I’ve been using McDonald’s Budget Printing & Copy Center for a few weeks now to sort of ‘test them out’, and they are now my go-​to print place.
I’m a designer who creates and prints everything from CD/​DVD labels to flyers to product inserts and packaging.
I finally got fed up with Office Depot’s general lack of knowledge and ‘I don’t care’ attitude, so googled nearby print places and found McDonald’s.
This is your quintessential small town, friendly local business. When I walk in here I feel like I stepped back into the small town I grew up in where all the store owners know your name and you can’t go to walmart without seeing at least 5 people you know.
There are always two people running McDonald’s, and they always seem incredibly busy and slightly frantic, but have always stopped to say hello, helped me with anything I needed and done a really good job, even if they say «Come on over behind the counter and show me what files you’re talking about here.»
What I really love is because I would come in all the time they suggested I start emailing my print jobs ahead of time. This means I’ve not had to go in and wait for prints, they’ll call or email me to let me know when it’s done and I can go straight in.
Any time there’s been an issue with a print they’ve been incredibly courteous and fixed it immediately until I’m perfectly happy.
Local businesses like this should thrive, and McDonald’s has my support.

Quaint little mom and pop shop with individuals who care. Tanya and the other owners have always been very nice to me and that’s why they have received my repeat business for over 10 years now. I highly recommend them. They are also the best price in town, which is what lead me to them in the first place.

Wow. If I could give this awful business less than one star, I certainly would. I called, asked if they could make a poster for me within three hours if I emailed them the file (I wanted to put something on the wall for some guests). They said no problem, email the file, and then call to check if it came through okay. I did, and I called, and they said the file was fine, but they were having a slight problem with the machine, but were 95% sure it would be fine. They would call me if there was any problem. Great.
So I drive 30 minutes to get there, and I was actually 20 minutes later than the time I had specified. The poster was not done. Still having machine problems, but should be done in another half hour. Okay, why didn’t they call, I thought, but just left to do some other errands, then went back out of my way to their shop. Poster was printed, but not mounted as I had ordered (which they now said they didn’t have time to do), but even worse was a TOTAL MESS. What was wrong? Let me count the ways:
1. Paper was crumpled — quite obviously — in several places.
2. Paper was very yellowed on the leading edge, as if they hadn’t used that roll in a very long time.
3. Print was completely and very obviously off-​center.
4. Print had smudge/​dirt marks in several places.
5. Border that was a very important part of the image was not included in the print area.
I pointed these things out, fully expecting that they would be mortified, redo it, and apologize. Nope. She said (they OWNER) that she «didn’t want to because that paper was expensive and cost them money». I said, «But you completely screwed it up!» She just shrugged and gave me a blank stare. I said this was unbelievable, and if they couldn’t do it they shouldn’t have promised, they should have at least called when they said, and now it was too late for me to get it done elsewhere. The guy yells (angrily) from further back in the shop, «You don’t get it – you care, we don’t. Just leave!»
As I said, WOW. I am not a rude person, and did not prompt his outburst. Then, to make things worse, she carefully rolls up my image, and puts it aside as I’m leaving the shop. I realize that she is planning to do something with it – perhaps sell it, or give it to someone as a gift. This is an original digital photo art piece of my own creation. So, I go back in and ask her what she’s planning to do with it. She says, «I don’t know.» I explained that she does not have the right to that image and ask that it be shredded. She says she’ll do it later. I say I want to see her do it now. She now says they don’t have a shredder. I say, then tear it up and throw it away. She refuses. I am so pissed off I could spit, but I just left, vowing to Unilocal about this experience and hope to save someone else such horrific bad service and rude treatment. I will also be calling the Better Business Bureau, and the chamber of commerce, as well as telling absolutely everyone I know.
