Endodontists are dentists who specialize in maintaining/​saving teeth. These procedures, commonly called root canals, involve treating the dental pulp (inner soft tissue of the tooth).

All dentists are trained in diagnosis and endodontic therapy, however, some teeth can be especially difficult to diagnose and treat. That is why you may have been referred to an endodontic specialist.

In addition to dental school, Endodontists receive two or more years of advanced education in this kind of treatment. They study root canal techniques and procedures in greater depth, for diagnosis and treatment of more difficult cases. Dr. Wiesen utilizes the most advanced technology, including digital microscopes, digital x-​rays and photography, as well as 3-​D technology. For this reason, many dentists choose to refer their patients to Endodontists.

Business Owner

Dr. Wiesen established the Endodontic Center of Redmond in order to provide personalized treatment for his patients with advanced technology. His goal is to ensure the best quality of care in the most comfortable environment. Dr. Wiesen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters of Science in Endodontics from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Wiesen received an extensive training in both non-​surgical and surgical endodontic procedures.

Aside from private practice, Dr. Wiesen is also an Affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry where he enjoys lecturing and teaching clinical endodontics. Dr. Wiesen is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, Washington State Dental Association, Washington State Association of Endodontists and the Seattle-​King County Dental Society.

Dr. Wiesen is a remarkable dentist I have ever met in my life. Honestly, I have visited many dentists in many places as well as many countries like Thailand, Myanmar, China and Malaysia for different type of treatments. However, I have never felt so welcome as I do here at Endodontic Center of Redmond — especially Dr. Wiesen himself. He has providing me a very warmly welcoming feeling, over expected services and genuine care. He personally give a call to his patient and even providing his personal line. Furthermore, he is welcome his patient to give him a call 24⁄7 in spite of weekend, late evening or holidays etc. I bet he is the best endodontist specialist in Redmond. Folks, you won’t regret seeing his team.

I had an awful toothache and my dentist referred me to Dr. Wiesen. I was able to get in to see him quickly and I was really impressed with the doctor. Dr Wiesen was very thorough and he even called me the next day to see how I was going after my treatment. He really went above and beyond, I have never had doctor with such a personal touch. If I ever have another tooth that needs a root canal, I’ll definitely be going back to see him.

I, like many have quite a few root canals done in the past… more than 6… seriously! I had to get a crown on a tooth that was beginning to have issues by my regular dentist, after 5 days of temporary crown, my whole face was hurting me… my dentist told me to hang on for a few more days… I was in such pain, I knew I could’t last a few more days… via phone, i was advised by Dr Wang that it sounds like I need a root canal… I was able to get an appt. quickly. I was greeted by friendly front office staff (Dana) who was empathetic with what I was going thru. Made sure I was attended right away. I was very impressed with the professionalism in the office. The Dr’s are very knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. My tooth stopped hurting right after. Yeah!!! I was also really touched when Dr. Wang called me personally the day after to see how I was doing. I’ve not had a Dr’s except for my very expensive Vet do that. I love the personal touch!!!
I have another tooth that needs root canal. I’ll definitely come back again.

Dr. Derrick Wang is an exceptionally well-​rounded dentist and root canal specialist. I was recommended to him by dentist (who could have performed the procedure himself, but chose not to) and I never turned back. Dr. Wang brings all the information to the table, so that you are fully knowledgeable about everything that’s going on. From the moment of consultation to the procedure, you’ll have a pleasant time. OH and his staff is pretty amazing!

I was not going to use EMC to get a root canal since they are not in my insurance network, but Emily called me personally to persuade me to use her services. She even offered the same rate that I would get with an in-​network provider. After I had paid in full the amount she told me, I received a bill for an additional $ 620. After refusing to pay the amount she failed to mention, she sent my invoice to the credit bureau. Since she did everything over the phone with me, I have no proof that she told me I wouldn’t have any additional fees past what she quoted me for. Poor service. I DO NOT recommend this place. Shady business.

My experience at Endodontics and Micro Center was great! I came here for a root canal. Everything was new, clean, electronic, fast, and surprisingly comfortable. I came in and filled my info out on the computer then was called back to have the root canal… which never sounds like a lot of fun. The worst part was the numbing shot. After that i sat back and watched TV for the rest of the procedure. It’s probably the most comfortable and easy-​going dental appointment I have ever had. Dr. Wang was great! Hopefully i wont need another root canal but I definitely would not have a problem with goinG here.
