Redmond Endodontics

I was not very happy with my experience at this practice. I’m sure they are competent, and if you get a referral here, I am sure you will be fine using their services.
The front desk staff were polite but I had some issues with insurance and billing and I just never felt like they understood what my issue was, despite me explaining it multiple times Basically, they and my family dentist coordinated costs estimates, which is great, but neither office told me they did that. Right before my appointment at this office, I got an estimate from my dentist for a different procedure. I am having a lot of work done in a short period of time across different specialists, so its been tough keeping track of exactly what was charged to my insurance. According to this estimate, I was almost out of dental benefits. What I didn’t know is that my dentists office had already added the estimated root canal cost (the part where they coordinated but didn’t tell me). So I show up to my appointment, ready to pay with CareCredit (again, lots of work getting done at once). This is where I find out they don’t take CareCredit. I tell the lady I have to cancel my appointment, as I don’t have enough left on insurance to cover it per an estimate I received at my main office, and I don’t have the $ 1500 cash to pay it now. Instead of offering to check on my insurance benefits or letting me know they already coordinated the costs, she just apologized and had me cancel my appointment. I contacted my family dentist to get a referral elsewhere and this is where I learned of the miscommunication. I rescheduled with Redmond Endodontics, but both times I tried to explain why I was confused, she just didn’t understand what I was talking about at all. She kept thinking I was saying that I didn’t realize my insurance rolled over with the new year or something. I just let it go.
Outside of that, I was miffed I had to pay for another set of x-​rays when I had ones taken and forwarded to them the previous day at my family dentist. They claimed they never received them but my other office insisted they sent them. Ok, whatever, I get that you’re looking for a specific thing in the images, but it wouldn’t have hurt to look at the other ones first.
When I was finally able to get in and get my root canal, it took almost 2 hours. The tooth was far in the back and despite nitrous and novacaine, I was in a lot of pain. My jaw was sore for several days and the tooth was extremely sensitive to any pressure for almost a week. This is not my first root canal, and I did not experience this previously. I don’t think this is due to any fault of the practice, just that I had a bad experience. The only thing I can think of is that it was a rather large cavity; the assistant did point out on the post-​procedure x-​ray that there was a little «bulb» over one of the roots but that it would go away on its own. I was told to take 2 ibuprofen and a tylenol, which I did at the intervals indicated. I got a followup call the next day, where I communicated that I was still in a lot of pain, to the point where I wasn’t able to eat much (not just from the tooth but the pain was nauseating) and was told to take more ibuprofen.
As someone who has a lot of dental anxiety and is sensitive to dental pain, I didn’t have a great experience here and will try to find a referral elsewhere for future services. I felt the staff were competent and polite but not particularly warm.

So glad that Dr. Kramp realized I didn’t need a root canal (I love honesty in a dds) instead he recommended a cream that helped with my tooth pain… why didn’t I find this guy years ago!!!

i had a good experience here recently. the staff was helpful, Dr Eichenberger was professional, friendly and made sure that i was not in pain during or after the procedure. they explained every step before they made it. they have a very nice dental assistant as well who is very good at what she does. if you need a root canal, this is the place to go.

I had a tooth with an old filling that cracked and broke off. My dentist thought the previous dentist didn’t clear out all of the cavity under the filling, so the tooth had been decaying for the last 20 years. He referred me to Redmond Endodontics for a possible root canal.
They fit me in the same day for an evaluation. Turns out I did need a root canal. Dr. Eichenberger said it looked like my tooth had 4 canals and discussed the anatomy and procedure with me. They did take 2 more x-​rays, even though I’d had 2 at my dentist’s office earlier. During the evaluation, they pulled my insurance information and let me know what the final cost to me would be by the time the evaluation was complete.
Five days later, I’m in the chair for the root canal. They give me the first few shots of novocain and I’m still having some sensitivity. More anesthetic. Work starts and because of my odd canal anatomy, Dr. Eichenberger has to work pretty hard to clear out the canals… A normally 1.5 hour appointment became 4 hours! About 3 hours in, he discovered 2 more canals, and cleaned them out too. (I’ve had friends whose endodontist made them reschedule if they found additional canals). They were great about making sure that I was pain free during the procedure. If I so much as twitched, they checked in to see how I was doing.
Fast forward to the morning after: there is some residual tenderness around the gumline, but overall, I am pretty pain-​free. You’d never know someone was poking around in my mouth for 4 hours. This was much better than my first root canal experience!
I couldn’t be happier with my treatment and would completely recommend them for work. I hope to avoid future root canals, but if it became necessary, I would definitely come back here.

I completely trust Dr. Eichenberger and would refer him to anyone needing an endodontis. He is profession, knowledgable and trustworthy. I can’t figure out why these other poor reviews are on here.

I had a bad initial experience here and won’t be going back.
I was referred to this office from my family dentist to address a problem tooth. I trusted my dentist and made the appointment.
I arrived 15 mins early to fill out paperwork, as directed by staff, even though it only took about 3 mins, and then waited. The waiting room is cramped, with only 6-​ish chairs, and people were literally standing as they waited, including one man on crutches with his two caregivers. Nothing was done to address this by staff. Seemed like a normal day there. They were too busy enjoying their lunches in back, since it was just before 1pm.
Then after filling out the paperwork and giving them my detailed referral sheet, I’m herded off to the ‘electronic signature area’ which is this odd desk with a non-​lefthand friendly digital pad in which you must sign two waivers AGAIN only this time electronically.
Then you are herded off to a treatment room, where I am promptly asked ‘what are we working on today?’. Mind you, this is after I was asked in detail over the phone to read the referral when making the appointment AND had handed them a written referral AND had filled out copious paperwork.
Then the doctor tells me they don’t have my xrays from the family dentist, even though I made a point of asking about this when making the appointment weeks earlier.
So they needed more xrays. So I sat for more xrays, which ended up not being clear enough. I then had to sit for more xrays. And THIS was the worst part of my visit. The tech needed to get a back view on a certain angle and was having a hard time getting the sensor thing back there AND to stay in place. So she had me bite down on it AND THEN TWIST IT while I was biting down on it, which dug into the area underneath my tongue, cutting me. I opened my mouth in pain and she just sighed. And then did it twice more, until I refused any more. I am not ashamed to say it hurt a lot. I was in pain from that and it was not necessary.
I was upset at the rough treatment and when the doctor came in, I simply told him I wasn’t getting any more work done and that I was finished.
I left, was herded to the payment area, where I was given a $ 1500 estimate for future work and told to sign it. (huh? wtf? I this a dentist or a car dealership?)
A few weeks later, I was sent a bill for $ 3 covering the amount of ‘services’ not paid for by my insurance company.
So fine, Redmond Endodontics, you can have my blood and you can have my three dollars. But I am danged sure going to let Unilocalers know about my bad experience there.
Summary: process-​heavy, poor customer service. They have lost the plot completely.
One positive: the front desk lady is very friendly.

Dr. Eichenberger is the biggest ass known to man. I had called their office multiple times to make an appointment and repeatedly got voice mail. I left messages every time requesting a call back to schedule an appointment since I had been unable to reach someone. I never got a call back but was finally able to reach someone to set something up. Fast forward to today– Dr. Eichenberger has the nerve to tell me that my child’s tooth maybe worse because I waited so long to make an appointment. When I explained to him that I had called before and not been able to reach someone, he told me that there had been a lot of availability to have her seen before today. How in the fuck was I supposed to make an early appointment if I can’t get ahold of someone???
He is very arrogant and impatient. He talked down to my child and myself when I was asking important questions about her tooth and her future care.
He was recommended to me because they work with children but I would never take a child here. It isn’t a kid friendly office and he does not have the demeanor to work well with scared, apprehensive kids.
