History

Established in 1979.

Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic is a privately owned center with three locations on the Eastside of Seattle. Doctor of audiology Thomas Norwood established the Clinic in 1979. The clinic established a second location to better serve the needs of the growing Eastside location at the Redmond Medical Center and a third office location was established in Bellevue, Wash. The speech and hearing departments united in 2005 to advance their knowledge, detection and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorder. Through the collaboration and co-​existence as a clinic, Evergreen is able to diagnose and assist even more of their Puget Sound patients. Although the clinic structure and office staff continues to grow, the message and underlying factor is still the same. Through constant innovation and learning, Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic continues to grow and establish itself as a model clinic for the country.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Doctor Thomas J. Norwood began practicing audiology in 1976. After a few years in the field, he set out to establish a hearing center with a focus on patient care. In 1979, Evergreen Speech & Hearing Clinic was established, offering services above and beyond what was offered at local hospitals and clinics. Dr. Norwood has earned fellowship with the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists. He is a founding member of the Washington Audiology Alliance, Prof. Associate of the American Tinnitus Association and member of The American Speech-​Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), Washington Society of Audiologists and an Allied Health Professional of Evergreen Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Norwood has received numerous honors for his hard work including the Distinguished Professionals Award and is Board Certified by both AAA and ASHA. When not busy working he enjoys traveling, skiing, jogging, music and spending time with his family.
