Shakti Vinyasa Yoga

I found their introductory class to be a bit slow but I get why since it was just beginners. I found their menu of classes a little confusing too. Beginner, Level 1,2 etc…
Ultimately they didn’t make me a customer of their studio. I was pretty turned off by the fact that they claimed there was an expiration on my trial membership of I think 10 classes. What difference does it make? I should be able to use those classes anytime as long as their doors are open. I’ve gone to a fair number of yoga studios and this just gave me cause to look elsewhere.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience here taking one of the Baptiste Power Vinyasa classes. During the day, I signed up for the class on-​line then went to class that evening.
The front desk reception person was really cheerful and welcoming. The studio space is pretty big with a nice layout. You walk down a long hall with wooden floors and artwork on the walls to the reception desk. There’s a nice wood bench flanked with sequined pillows, a fridge with coconut water and other drinks, and a wall of yoga clothes.
There’s cubbies at the front to leave your stuff but they told me that there were lockers in the back also but I didn’t see them.
The main room I was told is heated to about 95 degrees and is a beautifully large space. The class was taught by substitute instructor Evi who normally teaches at Bellevue. Her class was engaging and challenging but she also made me chuckle a few times. It was the most challenging class I’ve taken so far at any studio in the greater-​greater-​greater Seattle area.
Now, I realize that yoga experiences are super personal and holistic and all that junk. This experience was truly amazing for me and the qualities of a studio that made it so are: 1) the genuinely warm welcome, 2) the nice open space and ambiance, and 3) a respectful instructor. There was no air about her and she made a point of making a connection with each and every person before class and, of course, during.
I wish Evi taught in Ballard but I just might have to find myself at the Bellevue studio whenever I’m back on the eastside. Regardless, I will definitely be taking classes at one of the other Shakti studios again in the very near future.

Not that I’ve tried too many other yoga studios, but I don’t feel I need to after I found the Shakti Studios. I’ve been going to the Bellevue & Redmond studios since 2010 & 2012. The temp is just right, not over low 90s, the instructors I’ve enjoyed the most are Gina, Kristy, Josh, Deb, & Zak. They are challenging, but allow you to modify if needed, no pressure, encourage you to challenge yourself, but also to take care of your body also if you have any injuries or areas that are limited. The studios are clean, roomie, & friendly staff. I do have one peace is that the Bellevue locker room for women is a little small for the amount of participants in the weekend classes. The prices are also reasonable & competitive with other studios. I also like that they have early classes on the weekend at 8 am & 6:30 on weekdays.

i came to redmond to visit my best friend while she lived in seattle, and this was the nearest yoga joint to her house that wasn’t bikram. it happened to be heated and power vinyasa, which are both right up my alley. i never expect too much when going to a new studio and trying new teachers, as i am very picky as to who i take from.
i took Rebecca’s level 2 vinyasa class on my birthday, and i loved it. it was EXACTLY what i needed. she is down-​to-​earth, knowledgeable, and super nice. her class was challenging yet gentle. i came back a few days later for her yin yoga class, and it again was SO great.
the studio is super clean, super cute and they rent out manduka mats, which, if you’re not a super yogi, is a high-​end mat. totes worth it. since i was a new student, the 2^nd class was free.
if i’m ever in the area again, i will definitely come back to see Rebecca! she is a gem!

Love this studio, as well as their Bellevue and Ballard locations. Perfect temps (around 90 degrees, which means not too hot!), great and uplifting teachers who challenge you (but never yell at you or anything like Bikram), and a kick butt workout. Love it. Lisa Black in particular will give you a great practice (she owns the studios). Check it out!

If this place has any idea of the foundations of a yoga practice, I did not experience it! I have been practicing yoga for TWO decades, preferring the vinyasa or flow method. This studio was the least embracing studio that I have ever encountered. The teachers were condescending, rude and snippy. The classes woefully overcrowded and unbearably hot. I was promised a full refund, even though it was not their usual policy. Months and several phone calls and personal visits later, no refund. Find another yoga studio!

I’m pretty picky about my yoga studios. but Shakti was fantastic. CLEAN, good instructors and a wonderful selection of classes. If it wasn’t for my groupon, I never would have tried it and I’m so glad I did.

Been coming here for awhile now and I still love it! The times on MWF are earlier than at the East location so while I live right next to East, I still trek my way over here after work! The staff is always friendly and the instructors are fabulous! Yay!

I LOVE this yoga studio. I started with their Level 1 Intro to Baptiste Power Vinyasa 8 Class Series, which does an awesome job of breaking everything down for you and keeping the room at good temperature for beginners. I think this series could be beneficial for intermediate yogi’s, as well, to perfect your poses. Then, I moved on to their Level 1.5 classes, which were a great next step. All of their instructors and staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I would still be coming to this studio, if I hadn’t moved out of state. I’ve had my work cut out for me finding something comparable…
