Last year I brought my vehicle here because my car broke down across the street in the parking lot at Rite-​Aid. I had been having problems with the car for a few weeks and two other repair shops had no idea what was wrong with the the car because the problem was not consistent. Precision offered a solution and here I am 11 months later with the exact same problem– so either the problem was masked by a temporary fix or the part replaced by Precision is defective. In either case, Precision is responsible to either correctly diagnose the issue if they made a mistake or replace the defective part under their warranty. Last week I brought my vehicle to them and spoke with Chet. I’ll admit I was extremely frustrated when dealing with Chet, I’m sure that he’s a good mechanic and his shop seems reliable– it is AAA rated– HOWEVER, when dealing with me he was condescending, he would not listen to anything I had to say and gave no viable explanation for how my car could be doing the exact same thing as it did the first time I came to his shop if in fact it were correctly repaired and without a defective part. I said, «the problem is exactly the F’ing same as before.» Chet asked me to leave his shop and refused to continue assisting me– he was unable to have a respectful conversation with me on any level once I questioned him. He walked away from me and went into the bays and then a woman, who is apparently his wife, came out from the small room in the reception area. She told me that in 36 years she’s never seen someone so horrible. Mind you, at this point I never had seen her or spoken to her and other than the statement about my car having the same F’ing problem I had only attempted to have a rational conversation to determine what the issue is with my car. She wanted to belittle me for absolutely no reason and then once I engaged her she actually turned her back on me and ignored me. At his point, I did not have my car nor the key to my car and no one had offered it back to me. I couldn’t even leave. I was angry, and I will absolutely admit that I called the woman a really bad name, and I’m not proud that I did so but the way I was being treated was unacceptable and her attitude toward me provoked a response. When I called her that name Chet came into the reception area and got in my face screaming at me that he could do whatever he wanted and say whatever he wanted, inches away from me. I said to him that he could say whatever he wanted but that he could not touch me and to get away from me. I’m 5’4″ and a 100 lbs. He’s more than double my size. His wife had to physically pull him away from me. Again, I realize I probably should not have called her a name, but the way they were treating me got the reaction they were looking for. He was more than willing to physically attack me and would have done so had his wife not pulled him away. Pretty scary that a two words could set someone off in such a manner.
*What Chet states about the battery cables is not true. The alternator was defective and was replaced. A report was made with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. If his customers are comfortable with him getting in their faces and threatening them then good for them. I’m not. By the way, «due diligence» can also be construed as stalking-​something you may want to refrain from.

Mister Chao gets his cars serviced at Precision Automotive. What Mister Chao really likes about this shop is that they are honest. Precision Automotive lets Mister Chao know what repairs were essential and which repairs could wait until the next oil change. Mister Chao realizes this is outside of the norm and appreciates the fact that Caesar/​Chet didn’t try to force unneeded repairs on Mister Chao.

Ok. It’s been about two months since Rick built my 454 for «Pearl» and I have to say… wow!!! The crew here, Caesar, Theresa, Chet and of course Rick are simply the best! Honest, straightforward and highly engaged when it comes to your ride. Great customer service and support. Highly recommended!!! Don’t be a cheap bastard when it comes to your «girl». Way to go guys!

Chet, the owner is professional and honest. The first time I came here was to get a smog check. The second time I brought it back to get a Service A. I thought about taking it to the Mercedes dealer since the my last experiences with local auto care services (see my other reviews) ended up costing me about the same if I were to take it into the dealer for service. Anyways, I called in the morning, told Chet what my car needed and he quoted my on the spot as to how much it will all cost. I got a 10% discount for the service because I’m a AAA member so in the end it was great experience. Thanks Chet! I definitely recommend this place.

Great guys, and great service. This was the first time at Precision, and I will definitely be a repeat customer. They fixed my truck quickly and the price was more then fair. I dealt with Caesar who was polite and professional, even when I was a little rude due to a simple misunderstanding…

I’ve been taking my car to various shops across the South Bay for the past 10 years. Precision is the best so far. Very honest and they do excellent work. Highly recommended.

I have spent a few thousand dollars here over the years. They seem to be on top of their business. However, they have recently drastically raised their prices, and have priced themselves out of my business. I used to be able to get an oil change for under $ 20 with the coupon that they sent in the mail. Now, their oil change is $ 40 and the coupon only gets me seven dollars off. Additionally, they have been up charging more for every little service which brings up the bill. It’s a shame, because this was my go to auto spot, and now I’m going to have to find someplace else.

Being a female, I admit «car issues» is one of my VERY least favorite things to deal with! BUT I would go as far to say, I enjoy visiting this shop and always feel like I am in excellent care! My bf referred me a few years ago and he himself knows A LOT about cars and is extremely confident in this shop. A big shout out to «Rick» who went above and beyond to help me one day when my car broke down in my company parking garage after hours! Their customer service is always 100 percent on. Thank u team for making my visits fun (did I actually say that?!) and hassle free!!! Would recommend this shop to all my friends!

The guy kept trying to up sell me on stuff my car did not need. He claimed it was illegal to fill my ac with out using his leak check machine. I know my car doesn’t have a leak, but he refuses to charge the ac with out it. I called 5 other places and they all said he is lying. Don’t trust this crook!

Finding a good and honest auto shop can be tough, when they first open I brought my car there (wasn’t happy with my current shop). Incredible service, everything is explained in detail, They know me by name, I could go on and on etc…
Bottom line I moved from Manhattan Bch. to Santa Monica and still make the drive to Precision to all my auto repairs (even oil changes).

Picky about who I allow to work on my 1986 Toyota 4WD Truck. Precision was recommended to me so I gave them a shot. First time I talked with Cesar, I knew he would get the job done. Answered all my questions and did not have any issue with using the parts I supplied. Chet was also a big help. Theresa answered my emails which was helpful. Most auto shops you send an email to, just blow you off. Price was about $ 95.00/hour, so not cheap.

Had a very good experience here. Chose Precision based on AAA-​approval, BBB listing, ASE certifications, licensed smog checker, geography and Unilocal!reviews. They were very professional. Worked with Ceasar on my issue (water pump shot) — diagnosed the problem quickly, provided a quote (seemed reasonable based on internet searches) and got me my truck back the next day. Also performed smog check. Sent a follow-​up thank you note as a first-​time customer — nice touch. Would not hesitate to bring my truck back here.

i have a 1965 mustang and had the absolute hardest time trying to find someone to fix it. luckily i stumbled across precision and i’m so thankful i found it. i knew what was wrong with my car and they didn’t bs with me. i needed a new starter and they also fixed my ignition. my car has never ran better, i couldn’t be happier! everyone there was so nice and helpful and my car was ready in an incredibly timely manner. i highly recommend them and they will be my go to for any future car repairs. super happy customer :)

I’ve been coming here for around 6 years I think. At first it was just for oil changes as my main mechanic was in Temecula. after 2 cars and a lot of money spent with that other guy who was supposedly very reputable and even on an episode of one of those reality shows where they ‘steal’ a car then revamp it and give it back… anyways I was told by everyone ‘in the know’ that this place charges too much so I never actually had them do more than just an oil change.
At one point I was screwed when my car broke down and had the money and just paid their cost… I’ll tell you it was the FIRST time ever I went into ANY shop with a problem and my car came out the other end good as new! no problems, no sudden noises the next day… non of that! I’ve had them do some work on my car now the past year maybe 2yrs and so far no complaint… I’d rather pay more and be happy than pay less and have have to keep going back again and again. Worth Every Penny!
Ceaser is also very nice and friendly, always remembers you and your car… even the old car you don’t own anymore

Went here because I needed to get my car Smog Checked at a STAR facility. I called before hand to see how long it would take and if they could see me right away. The lady on the phone was very nice and answered all of my questions. The location was easy to find. I walked in and was helped right away with getting the paperwork all taken care of and a quote. The smog check price is comparable to other places I’ve been to. I had to wait a bit until they could fit me in, which they informed me of when I called. Quick and easy. Car passed and I’m a happy camper. Only negative: They don’t take American Express

So AAA refered me to this place after my Volvo 940 overheated b/​c coolant was leaking. Yeah… pretty bad. So I get a tow and I specifically asked AAA to make sure they work on volvos. They do! Yes! So I walked in the office and Cesar helped me out. They were busy but said they could look at it and if its something small, fix it same day. They sure did. Took them about 4 hours but I didnt care. I needed my car back that same day! Partytime… lol. My cooler pump thing was broke, (I dont remember the name of the pump) so he showed me my broken part, told me how it works and why it failed, and gave me the keys. Fair price too! $ 230 (with AAA discount!) And I got my oil changed! I needed that done like last month… lol. I love my beater Volvo though. Cesar and his crew are the men! They hooked it up! Goin back!

I have been going to Precision Automotive for many years. I used to go to the Westchester location until unfortunately and sadly that one was closed. I used to be able to walk there and the service was amazing. The owner Bruce was the kindest gentleman and I trusted him 100%. Mary, the receptionist was the warmest and friendliest person. All employees were really nice. Ceasar worked there for a while before he moved to the Redondo Beach location. I had been so spoiled with the service in Westchester that I now drive much farther to Redondo Beach to get the same service. I just had my regular oil change and service today for $ 25.00. I was in and out in no time and I received the same friendly service I am used to. Thank you all at Precision for your honest and kind service.

Asian female car drivers, listen up! This place is a gem and won’t rip you off. I just had my precious wheels fixed at this AAA-​approved spot after FLYING over a dip on PCH and damaging the underside. Cesar is fantastic! I got my car back the very next day and at a fraction of the price (different story had I gone to the dealership). As a girl, I felt like I wasn’t being swindled, and Cesar (along w/​the nice lady at the front, I don’t know her name) were professional, kind, and genuine.

We began taking our two cars to Precision Automotive several years ago, mainly because it is conveniently located within walking distance, and we’ve always liked their work. They are friendly, knowledgeable and honest.
Yesterday, they distinguished themselves as masters of customer service, assuring my business forever. My tire went flat just as I was pulling into the driveway. My husband was traveling and wouldn’t return for two days. I never learned how to change a tire and we don’t have emergency road service, so I was in a real jam.
I called Precision Auto and explained my problem to Cesar. I told him I was only a block away and asked if someone could come over to put the spare on for me. It was 5 p.m. and the shop closes at 5:30, but Cesar said he would send help. Ten minutes later Rick was at my door. It was after 5:30 when the spare was on, but they kept the shop open so I could bring in the car.
The tire was punctured but was also worn, so I needed a new one. They kept the rim, sent me home with the spare on, and ordered a new tire the next morning. By 2 p.m. the next day, my car was good to go.
When a business goes the extra mile like Precision Auto did, it’s worth sharing the news. Thanks Cesar and Rick! And owners Chet and Theresa!
