Our approach is different than most other practices. We believe that matching you with the right therapist is the most important part of ensuring a quality experience for you. Which is why we do not offer online scheduling and we never book appointments strictly based on availability. Instead we’d like to get to know a bit about you before we schedule your appointment.

When you call we will ask you a few questions about your goals and objectives as well as your preferences for your massage. Once we’ve matched you with the best possible practitioner we’ll schedule an appointment that will conveniently fit into your schedule.

Established in 1997.

My wife and I founded Baysix in 1997 with little more than $ 400.00 and a dream. We had 2 clients in our first six months in business. But stuck with it; we worked hard and slowly but surely our practice grew.

Over the years we’ve provided top quality massage to over 5,500 satisfied clients and have thirteen extremely experienced & talented Massage Therapists on our staff. Each of whom is dedicated to providing you with a quality experience and long term benefit from your massage.

Everyday, we strive to make subtle improvements to our business; to give more than we receive and to provide you with maximum value for the time and money you spend at Baysix.

My wife and I started our practice over 11 years ago with little more than $ 400 and a dream. Since then we’ve focused on building our reputation not our business. We’ve made every effort to ensure every client is treated like our best and most valued friend. We’ve built this practice slowly as to ensure a strong base and a loyal clientele. It is our intention that every person that passes thorough our doors feels well cared for, at ease and comfortable. And when they leave they feel that their time and money were well spent. Great massage but just one weird thing– the face rest is hard as a rock!!!
Which ends up becoming absolutely excruciating if they’re focusing on your neck. My cheeks were bright red for 2 days… Wtf…

My doctor told me to get massages to work through a shoulder injury. She recommended a place in the city but I decided to try out Baysix due to the amazing Unilocal reviews. I’m so glad I did. I called in and the lady who answered asked me what I wanted to be seen for so she could match me with the appropriate therapist. She set up an appointment with Chris … and I never looked back. He is so good that after two sessions with him, my physical therapist discharged me after more than 6 months of PT — telling me to keep up the massage-​work and my exercises. That’s incredible! Chris has been instrumental in helping me manage and heal my shoulder. His massages have given me more range of motion than I’ve had in months. Not to mention that they are helping with the pain I’ve had due to the injury.
After my trial period was over, I signed up for their membership and have been getting weekly massages. I’m so grateful I found this place. Come here if you want an incredible massage. I will keep coming back.

I’ve been getting massages here for several years now and have been a member on and off. I’ve seen many therapists and I have yet to have a bad massage here. The best therapists work here. They don’t always stay, I’m guessing it’s that type of job, but they’re all really good.
Of the current staff, I’ve had massages from Joshua and Daniel, both very good. I highly recommend this place for a good massage.

I’ve been a faithful member of Baysix for coming up to 5 years now… wow! Time flies. Since then, I’ve lived all over the bay area from Palo Alto to SF, but have always been coming here because of the quality of the therapists and how responsive and great the owners are.
Pricing wise, the membership can’t be beat — an hour for under $ 100 for a real massage (not one of those $ 25 foot massage places) in the Bay Area is hard to come by. I should also mention that this is not your typical massage you get at a high end spa or hotel — the quality is uncomparable by far. Unlike the other places which have a standard massage routine (why anyone would pay $ 200 for a scripted massage from a hotel is just crazy to me), the therapists actually take the time to understand what your needs are each session and tailor it to you specifically.
Robert has been my long time favorite, but more recently I’ve been seeing Tonia, who’s intuition to your body is the best I’ve ever encountered. She told me she works based upon how my muscles react, and it totally shows. Have you ever had that «feeling» during a massage that after pressure was applied to one part, another muscle close to it needed some attention? Whenever that happens, and it’s as if she can read my mind (more like muscles), cause she gets there right away. And she will actually work on any knots until they are good and gone, instead of just going over it a few times and then moving on. She’s also really great in the sense she will check in with you during the massage, but never talks too much that it gets annoying.

Today was my first visit, and it was wonderful. I was long overdue for a massage, and have a handful of chronic musculoskeletal issues. Sigrid was amazing, the environment was calming, and I felt great during and after my 90 minute massage. I will definitely be returning here in the near future.

Have gone a few times for massages. Although it’s not the most luxurious place, it’s decent with easy parking and close to downtown Redwood City. I’ve tried a few therapists, but would only recommend Louis. She is very strong and intuitive in where to massage and stretch. Only complaint is that she likes to talk during the massage, and usually I just want to just relax :)

This week I had gifted to me a 90 minute massage at Baysix Skin & Body with Paola. The massage was amazing and melted away all my aches and pains. After the massage I felt uplifted and so relaxed & calm. For a person with chronic pain this means a lot. They were very professional and the place is very clean and esthetically pleasing. They truly put you in a zen place through all your senses. It was such a wonderful experience that I booked a facial for the next day with Sigrid. The facial was fabulous as she took time with me and made me feel and look great. My reviews on Unilocal are only done when I receive extraordinary service and Baysix gets five stars from me for making me feel healthy and beautiful!

I have been a member at Baysix for the past 14 months and have been EXTREMELY satisfied by the experience. As a member, I am offered massages at a discounted rate which is awesome! I get 90 minute therapeutic, deep tissue massages at least once a month. They have been several months where I have needed a second to work out the muscles in my body. Jennifer, the owner, is very personable and the billing is easy!
My massage therapist is Josh and he is AMAZING! I have had over 200 massages in my lifetime and he is in my top 3 of all time best therapists. Seriously! I had my right hip replaced in February 2013 and started working with Josh in June 2013. He helped to break up my scar tissue and smooth out my hip and leg muscles. He is very knowledgeable about the human body and leverages this knowledge expertly. He gets in all the nooks and crannies of the muscles to release the lactic acid and knots. It’s definitely a workout for him and for me! He used to be a personal trainer so he is very familiar with the wear and tear your body goes through. Josh is also just a great guy! He is very personable and fun to talk to!
As evidenced by my 5 star rating, I highly recommend Baysix and Josh.

I had a prenatal massage with Becky and she is just a miracle worker. I had horrible back pain during my pregnancy, that I couldn’t even turn from one side to the other in bed. After seeing Becky, my pain had just gone away. It was amazing, after a short conversation, she focused on my lower back and gave a great relaxing massage. She completely changed my pregnancy. I had almost no pain for a few weeks (until it came back and I returned for her to do her magic again), my energy levels were higher and I was not walking like a duck anymore. I don’t know how I would have continued working without her help. Thank you Becky!

I have some injuries on my legs and shoulder and I have been using Bay six for awhile now and have always had great massages there. The last two times I went I had Jennifer R and the biggest word in my vocabulary is WOW. She worked more on the problem areas and worked out the knots and such. Along with a great massage, I feel the energy as well. My body and mind are so relaxed when I leave there. I was so relaxed this last time I can almost swear I fell asleep and was so relaxed I think I was dreaming I was a deer just walking around. I wish I was better at writing about Baysix. From the friendliness of the person making the appointment for me to the very clean rooms and great atmosphere and of course the fantastic massage. Thank you Baysix and Jennifer

So I have serious back and neck knots. As a present, I was going to get a massage.
FIRST! LET ME SAY THE GOOD STUFF: The people at Baysix are very friendly and the location though small, is very nice and clean.
BUT…
that being said, when I had called, the receptionist set me up with a hot stones massage. It was 20 bucks extra and I had clearly said, I need someone with more firm pressure, (because let’s be honest, that is the ONLY real way to get all the knots out.) She assured me the masseuse she recommended would do the job well.
When I got there, the masseuse and I quickly realized that hot stones was NOT what I needed. Even though she changed over to a more deep tissue style, the massage was not what I wanted, and I started to cry a little throughout the massage.
This was NOT the masseuse’s fault! And she even adjusted the price to not include the hot stones added cost.
The lady I had talked to had given me bad information and the wrong person for my needs and when the massage was over, there was no one there to talk to about the situation besides my massage therapist and I did not want to embarrass her.
BECAUSE LIKE I SAID IT WASN’T HER FAULT.
But the receptionist was, in my opinion, a little too busy trying to get me to buy a membership and upgrade to a stone’s massage, that she didn’t clearly hear me when I said what I had needed. And that might be a problem of the location since I was asked 3 separate times about possibly becoming a member at different points.
I am very poor and cannot afford to get massages often and for over 100 dollars, I expect to get what my body needs to feel better. On my way back to my car, I cried because I was disappointed and because I could still feel the knots in my upper back clicking against each other when I bent my neck forward and rolled my shoulders.
If you go here, be careful, be super repetitive, and be specific.

I decided to treat myself recently to a 90 minute Swedish massage. No specific «work» needed. It was just for relaxation.
I have to say, though, that I left a bit disappointed. My masseuse, Kina was an incessant talker during my 90 minutes. Her words were kind and helpful, but she consistently broke the spell I was in during relaxation. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I like complete silence during my massage. I even find the after massage talk about «where I need work» to be annoying. My impulse was to tell her to please not speak during my massage, but I just couldn’t work up the courage. I was hoping that my monosyllabic responses and occasional non-​responses would do the trick. But they did not. The massage itself was very nice.
When we completed, she kept going on again about how I need to reposition when I sleep, how I need to roll on tennis balls. It was… unnecessary. And she charged me $ 145 when I was almost certain that Swedish massage was $ 135. Another final annoyance is that they make no space on the charge slip for you to tip your masseuse. I was forced to hand over all of the cash that I had in pocket. An amount that was far less than what I would have tipped on the charge slip.

After speaking directly with Jennifer she helped address any concerns I had and I feel it is only fair to amend my review. I will continue to be a customer of Baysix and I appreciate their attention to customer satisfaction.

The membership also gives me access to schedule appointments online, which is so convenient. I’ve met a few different massage therapists now, and each have been equally good in their own ways. Wow. I am quite impressed with this place. Just last week I had a good experience — not great — in which I felt pretty disappointed after leaving. It had nothing to do with the girl that provided my service, I think she did a good job for the type of massage she provided — an all-​over full-​body prenatal massage that left me feeling quite relaxed. It just wasn’t what I had hoped for when I called and explained I had been having a good amount of back pain along my shoulder-​blade and was looking for some deep pressure to break it up and provide me some relief.
After I wrote my review, I was very impressed to hear back from the owner, Jennifer, almost immediately after posting. She was very warm and friendly, and took full responsibility for the miscommunication, and said she felt that she had probably recommended me to the wrong person. Wow! She said they take their customer satisfaction very seriously and felt that it was her mistake. I was really shocked to hear back so quickly, and even more shocked to hear that she wanted to make it up to me by putting me with the right masseuse.
Fast forward another week and I went back to have another massage with Brooke. Holy cow, was it amazing. She has magic hands, and does very deep tissue pressure release — which I thought would be tough to handle at 8 months pregnant, but it was awesome. She really has magic hands and was able to find the numerous spots on me that were out-​of-​control tight. Of course I know that nothing can be solved with one massage, but I already feel better getting that one massage, and I will definitely be going back to her for more. I also want to send my boyfriend as he would love how gifted she is with pressure points and releasing all those nasty toxins that build up in our muscles.
She was a star and I really am so impressed with their business. They will be seeing me again and I am more than happy to recommend them to anyone — and will!

I had a pre– natal massage and facial with Laura. My husband surprised me on Mother’s Day and we were both excited. However, I was not pleased with some of Laura’s lack of professionalism. We chatted a bit at the beginning but felt like she wanted to chat and I just wanted to relax. We talked about my pregnancy and I felt a bit judged on some of the things that came up (food, tylenol, etc) but I wasn’t there to be questioned or given advice! The massage was ok although I didn’t get much concentration on my tailbone which is one of the things I put as my «goal» for my visit.
I had to use the bathroom and she told me I couldn’t use the one in that building because it was broken. So here I am with this thin towel over my body trying to hold it into place as I go outside and across to the other spa office. There was a male receptionist there and I got really uncomfortable! That sucked.
Then came the facial. I’m already having a hard time breathing and the steam was making me feel like I was choking and I told her but she said to just focus on my breathing. Honestly I felt like I was suffocating. But I’d move my face to the right to get somewhat cool air. The room was a bit warm which wasn’t Relaxing for me. Then she put on a mask on my face and my face started to burn. I immediately asked if it was normal and she said no and quickly took it off. She said it was glycolic acid with green tea to firm. My face does not tolerate glycolic acid as I have very sensitive skin right now. I wished she’d ask before putting it on.
Well, when it was all over, she handed me another form to fill out (I did fill out 2 others at the very beginning) but this one was about my face!!! I don’t think she read anything I filled out and well how are they suppose to take care of you if they don’t know squat about you? All in all, it may have been better with someone else. Disappointed.

About 2 months ago I took my first boot camp class and felt like I had been hit by a truck! I could barely walk let alone move. My boot camp intsructor suggested that I get a sports massage. So I did some research and came accross Baysix Skin & Body. My massage therapist was Paola who was very warm and welcoming. I explained to her that I could barely walk and was experiencing major pain in my hamstrings and quads. After 60 minutes with Paola the pain had went from a 9 (on a scale from 1 – 10) to a 6. I especially noticed a difference when walking back to and getting into to my car. Overall, I would reccomend Baysix Skin & Body to anyone experiencing pain and in need of a quick fix.

Let me just say… WOW.
So my first experience with Baysix was back in 2004. It was a gift from a friend who had been seeing the owner /​masseuse Jen for a while and told me I just needed a massage. So I went and was amazed.
Moved to Portland… compared every spa to Baysix and no one made me feel as comfortable or welcomed as Baysix.
Now…back in the bay area, the boy and I decided to go get massages to celebrate my birthday /​him moving in. So of course I called up Baysix. Sadly for me, owner Jen is not doing massages anymore but she suggested this other girl Sarah.
At first I was nervous… but seriously, Sarah was AMAZING. She is well educated, knows a lot about the pain I am going through since a car accident back in 2007 and really worked some things out for me that no one had ever been able to do before. I am THRILLED.
So thrilled in fact that I signed up for their membership! So now, I get a massage every month for the flat fee and if I want more (and I do!) I get them at a reduced rate.
If you are thinking about a massage and live anywhere in the bay are, Baysix is worth the drive. Staff is amazing, comforting and all around professional. I could not ask for a better place!
