Came here for a simple MRI of my knee, had an appointment at 4:15, but wasn’t taken back for the procedure till almost 5pm. Fine running behind, I understand. The concerns I have with this establishment is the lack of professionalism from Sheila, the manager of this site. My CD that they provided to me with the images of my scan were incomplete, and did not have all the images needed for my clinic visit the following day. My visit was a waste of time for me, and frustrating for the MD; because he could not give me clear answer or solution till he gets the complete MRI images. I called to complain to Sheila about my dissatisfaction with my MRI visit, and from the start of the phone call she was rude, short and hung up on me. Absolutely poor customer service, not an apology for the inconvenience or anything, her excuse was, «I was not there.» Regardless, as a manager you are to insure your staff are taking care of patients and providing them complete image on their CD when they walk out. Please tell me how difficult can that task be? As a manager you need to take a customer service training course, you do not talk to patients like that, ever, and to hang up on them. Your customer service skills and problem solving skill set perfectly belong at a used car dealership. Maybe that should be your next career move?

First they told me to come in on the wrong day. Then on the day I show up for the appointment, they had double booked appointments, so I waited more than an additional 30 minutes before my appointment started. There was no explanation and no apology. This place sucks. Go to Valley Radiological. The services there are friendly, fast, and on time.

This rating is for the billing office only. We had our MRIs done in April. It’s now the end of December. You would not think I’d still be dealing with this issue but this is Health Diagnostics billing department. I continue to get billings for our co-​pays– which were paid in May 2013. Yesterday we got a carbon copy of a letter from the insurance carrier that the biller for Health Diagnostics apparently entered a wrong billing code and overbilled the insurance company by $ 600.00 and the insurance company wants it back. Good luck with that Blue Shield. If your dealings with this billing department are as frustrating as mine have been, it might be worth it just to write the $$ off — you’ll be going back and forth for months trying to get your $ 600. I am now waiting with baited breath for the next letter– as we both had our MRIs done at the same time– and we both keep getting rebilled for the copays– I fully expect Health Diagnostics overbilled for both of us and we’ll get another «we want our $ 600 paid back to us» letter.
While we were both impressed with the office in Redwood City — if we had to have another MRI I would think long and hard before going back to this facility– just because of the headaches the billing department brings about.

Yeay, I’m a fan! That is a strange thing to say about a health clinic, but really, the staff here makes the whole process comfortable. I had to come get an MRI for my knee, and having put it off for some time, I needed to get it done right away. I called, spoke with a staff member who checked my insurance and processed my information right away. Got me in early the next day for a scan. He was very helpful in explaining the details of the insurance billing and did not get exasperated with me, which I appreciate. The entire process took less than an hour, from check in to check out, so it seems they’re good with their scheduling.
The facility is really clean and they have lockers for you to put your stuff in. The machine for the MRI can be very loud, but they give you headphones for that. It’s probably one of the easiest medical exams I’ve had in the last 4 months. It’s almost therapeutic, coming here… you know, minus the fact that I have a knee injury and it’s costing a lot more than going to a spa… but hey, if you’re going to a health clinic and having to shell out money for that scan, might as well go to one where you’ll feel comfortable. It’s definitely cheaper coming here to get it done than at a hospital.

I had to come in today for an MRI of my hand. Medical procedures scare the shit out of me but when I saw «MRI without contrast» written on my paperwork, I felt a little more at ease. The office is really easy to find and parking, much to my surprise and glee, is free and ample.
The front desk personnel are friendly and helpful. The facility has a bright clean feel to it overall. Before my MRI I had to take off all my jewelry and anything else that had metal in it (like my Viking princess steel-​plated bra). I left my nose ring in because I’m a pussy and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get the stupid thing back in, but nobody said anything so I guess it was ok. Gold isn’t magnetic anyway, right? They have little changing rooms and lockers where you can leave your stuff securely (you get a key).
The MRI itself was boring. My MRI tech was Ben and he was very nice. Got me an extra blanket and bundled up my feets for me (it’s fucking FREEZING in that room, holy hell). You’ll get earplugs and headphones because it’s incredibly noisy. And then you just lay there. Boring boring boring. But Ben went out of his way to make sure I was comfy at least. Extra pillows and whatnot. Almost like I was in a cocoon. A noisy, frigid, boring cocoon. A suggestion, if they’re open to it? Get Sirius or Pandora or something and wire that in to the headsets. That would make a big difference.
On your way out they give you a DVD of your scan to take to your doctor. Kind of a cool thing to do.
As soon as I got out of there I turned on the heated seats & steering wheel in the car to bring myself out of cryopreservation mode.

Yes, I am not as young as I used to be.
I love going to the gym, working out and getting my sweat on. A few months back, I got a bit too rambunctious, did some dips at an ill-​advised width followed by some shoulder presses. A few hours later I felt a very sharp pain while driving and turning the steering wheel.
Yes, I tore my rotator cuff.
I made a visit to an orthopedic surgeon, and he ordered an MRI for my shoulder at Health Diagnostics in Redwood City.
Located off of Veterans Blvd., this place was easy to find. They have front parking spots for their patients. I checked in with the receptionist, who had me fill out the necessary paper work. After that, I was directed to a locker room, where I changed into a robe. A technician greeted me and directed me to the lab.
While he was getting me set up, he described to me what to expect during the procedure. During the procedure, the technician checked on how I was doing, via a speaker.
The procedure was quick and efficient, and I was out in less than an hour. After I changed back to clothes, the technician had the films ready for me to take to my doctor.
Overall, the staff was very courteous and polite. I liked that they had Blow Pops at the receptionist’s desks, a little treat for me after the procedure.
I’m on the mend, and hope not to come back here again, but I’m very pleased with their facility and staff.

The reason I’m giving them five stars is that they do the two most important things well: provide excellent medical imaging at a reasonable price.
My local big medical center physician ordered an MRI, and after an hour with the insurance people, I realized my COPAY was going to be $ 1800 at their imaging center. The TOTAL cost of the same scan at Health Diagnostics was less than my copay would have been at my own medical center.
I’m not naming my medical center, because that situation is not an indication of the cost of their care in general, normally it’s very good, but for some reason their MRI costs are high. I’m really grateful that I have the option of going somewhere with more reasonable imaging costs like Health Diagnostics — I would have refused the care otherwise, and as it was, I delayed it a long time trying to work this out. Even covered, the copays were too much, I couldn’t have gotten the care.
My copay at Health Diagnostics was very reasonable, and they make a point of checking with the insurance in advance so you can know what your copay is going to be WHEN YOU COME IN FOR THE CARE, and just take care of it then, which I wish everyone did. (I can’t emphasize that enough, this is rare and so important to me.) I’ve now had more than one MRI with them, and my copay has never been more than $ 350, and has been as low as $ 130.
Plus they caught something that a previous imaging center had missed (different kind of imaging, though).
I hate going in for medical procedures, period, so unless my medical care was substandard, I don’t have much to say about the «customer service». I don’t really need my medical providers to be sweet and cuddly, though, I just want to get good quality medical care and leave, you know? That said, I think the receptionists and techs have been courteous and kind, and I felt comfortable.
Another thing I almost forgot to add:
Every time I have gone, they have given me a copy of my imaging on CD and my reports (if I’m willing to wait and I have) on my way out the door! What an amazing timesaver that is for me as a patient. Usually medical centers make it almost impossible for patients to get their own records, and the reality is that care suffers because we’re the ones who have to make sure the records get from one place to the next. And then I can keep my own record up to date without more hassle. I wish I could give them 10 stars for that.
I did have one problem with the billing once, and like one of the other reviewers, was not happy with what I experienced, but it was worked out, and so long as it doesn’t happen again, I’m not going to hold it against them, because the quality of the medical care and cost aspect are so important, and they do those so well.

As of today, every one in my family (of 4) has now had a trip to the MRI at Health Diagnostics. This was over the period of one year August 2011, to July 2012. (and I have been there twice, myself) Each visit began on time, with a courteous and caring staff. On my first visit, I was lucky enough to walk in without an appointment, which was fantastic considering the amount of pain I was experiencing.
The waiting room offers snacks, water, and engrossing magazines. The locker rooms are neat and clean. The MRI room is freezing, but that is what makes the machine happy. The staff does their best to cover you and plug your ears against the noise, in an effort to make you comfortable.
Receptionists were helpful getting reports printed and the DVDs prepared. The radiologist reports are delivered to your doctor and are completed in 1 – 2 days. They will give you a printed copy of the report, if you ask them. I cannot speak to the billing department, as we were lucky that the insurance company covered the services.
Overall, I highly recommend Health Diagnostics!

They say they do financing but they don’t.
I’m torn over how to rate HD because it’s staff was superior but it’s billing department is horrendous. My experience having an MRI there was excellent and the medical staff were the best of the best. They deserve 5 stars.
I was told that I could finance my balance over 12 months and have made four payments thus far. Today I received a statement showing the four payments but also stating that I am 120 days past due. WTF? So now I predicate a bunch of phone calls to set something straight that never was in error. To ensure these guys don’t report me to a credit agency I’ll pay off the balance because frankly, I don’t trust them anymore.

Take what the other reviewer wrote, and reverse everything.
I had an MRI today. I am very claustrophobic. I do not like elevators or airplanes. It’s a control thing, but it’s also something that can get in the way of life.
Due to an injury, the doc wanted an MRI scan. I chose HD after a brief visit a couple of days prior, mainly to see the machine and what the staff was like. I was greeted by Jennifer at the front desk. She could not have been nicer nor more sympathetic toward my anxiety about having the MRI.
I got up my courage and called yesterday to schedule for today. I was literally in tears like a little girl, with just the thought of going in that tube. Well, that «tube» is the latest and greatest in MRI machines. My neck scan was a total of 15 minutes, a far cry from my 45-​minute one done about 15 years ago! It also is way more accurate and gives better results. It is a 3T, for those doing your research about the machines. This is an upgrade from the 1.5T, hence, quicker AND better.
I apologize for not having the technicians’ names, but one stayed and held my hand and soothed me, while the other one ran the machine. These ladies gave me the chance to stop the test, or to pause to see how I was doing. Although it seemed like an eternity, it was their graciousness, understanding, and comforting that got me through the entire experience.
I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you need an MRI, especially if you have issues like mine, which, I understand, many people do.
