History

Established in 1980.

During the summer of 1962 and 1963, Bill Gibbs, an Ocean City resident, was a beach boy for the Breakers Hotel on 3rd Street and the Boardwalk. It was during those months on the beach that he envisioned a restaurant in front of the Breakers Hotel. He opened his first Dough Roller in 1980 and then went on to open three more until 2015 when he opened his Rehoboth Beach Delaware location.

Business Owner

The Dough Roller Restaurant on 3rd Street and the Boardwalk was founded in 1980 by the Gibbs Family. During the summer of 1962 and 1963, Bill Gibbs, an Ocean City resident, was a beach boy for the Breakers Hotel on 3rd Street and the Boardwalk. It was during those months on the beach that he envisioned a restaurant in front of the Breakers Hotel and in 1980 he opened the first Dough Roller and then opened several more locations until he opened the most recent Dough Roller in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. You can still catch Mr. G. throwing dough in one of his locations.
