Bomb! Tons of beer choices and just the right temperature, exactly what we were looking for!

Another spot that I’m late to the game on trying! As with other Midtown business, parking is sparse. For some reason, I imagined the interior being much smaller than it actually is, but there is actually plenty of seating throughout the building.
You can either order what’s on tap or head into the cooler where you can pick put a can or a bottle to either enjoy there or take home. I wish I had spent more time poking around in the cooler to explore everything they have to offer. We were already freezing before we walked into the cooler, so we did a quick scan and decided on the one of the first things that caught our eye. Up at the counter where you pay, they’ll pour your beer for you if you’re sticking around.
I think this is a cool take on the traditional liquor store and bar — it’s a nice combination of both. If I lived closer to Midtown, I’d probably be there much more frequently but for now, it’ll just be a spot that I stop into if I’m in the area.

We try and stop here whenever we roll through Reno, great place. Amazing selection, you are likely to discover your new favorite beverage here.
On our most recent visit last week, we stocked up on wines, scotch, and a couple bottles of Chimay for our wedding in Truckee. The guests loved every bottle.

Absolutely my favorite place to pick up a bottle of wine to share with friends in house or take home to enjoy solo. This is the most knowledgeable and well stocked local shop in town plus you can hang out there too. Everyone that works here is so wonderful but Brooke is beyond awesome. She knows her stuff and can help you pick out something based on your taste. I’m sure everyone here is just as knowledgable (not to mention friendly!) but Brooke seems to get my palate the best. This is my place. I’m always here. Always shopping here, and always recommending locals and foreigners here. Top notch!

If I would let my hubby live here, he would move in tomorrow. (I wish I was kidding) but I will admit, this place is pretty amazing! If you are a fan of a microbrew, or unique style of beer, his place will have it!
But I digress, you walk in to a dimly lit, deep wood furniture, swank music playing bar. The bartender is alternatively cool, and friendly. But something is very different about this «bar» instead of tons of tables filled with bar flys, there are racks upon racks of wine, the wall is filled with alcohol bottles for sale, and you only recognize a few high end brands like Grey Goose and Johnnie Walker, but the rest look unique and interesting. The usual frat boys drinking their Coors, are replaced with MEN drinking darker beer… From a glass… And most glasses are different! The centerpiece of the room is not a dance floor, or pool tables but a very large refrigerator, FILLED WITH PEOPLE! You are not in Kansas anymore! And that’s a good thing!
The bartender tells you to go pick a bottle of beer, or wine, and bring it to the front. You start to wander, getting lost in the options for wine, you stumble into the cooler… ITS FULL OF BEER! It’s like walking the micro brew isle at total wine! Only all cold, and ready to be chosen, the possibilities are endless. You choose a bottle that looks interesting but safe, and take it to the front. The bartender tells you about your choice, cracks it open, and pours it for you, in a glass intended for that style of beer. He also tells you which other brews they offer that are similar to this one, and other good options for your next beer. This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

I’ve been in here about three or four times now. Two of which happened last week! This is such a unique business. You can order a beer on tap or buy something bottled. They have a huge selection of microbrews, wine, and a wall of spirits. I’ve had beer on tap here and from a bottle and can!
The staff are always hustling to get to you and keep the place looking great. The laid back feel and dim lighting make it comfortable at night. They have picnic tables inside and out. There is a standing table and a couple benches.
The midtown location makes it an ideal stop on a bike ride or stroll through the neighborhood. They have a cold room for their bottles and cans that you can walk into and browse. The wine bottles form the aisles to the bar and spirit wall. They have bike parking right out front too! Get over here and check it out.

Rose in Reno? Yes, please!
Upon my first visit to the Biggest Little City, had zero expectations. Of course my colleagues and friends had opinions about Reno, which they were happy to share. Most of which weren’t the most positive.
«Why are you going to Reno?» or «Are you sure you want to go to Reno?»
Well folks, am very glad that I did, since businesses like Craft were discovered and enjoyed.
Very simple concept done well: fine wine and beer. Purchase and take it to-​go, or enjoy your selection inside. They’ll even keep a bottle cold for you. And it wasn’t terribly expensive stuff, either. High quality doesn’t necessarily require a hefty price tag.
This ain’t your typical corner store selection, either. There’s obviously some sommelier and cicerone input at Craft. Staff was more than willing to offer suggestions, especially when the by-​the-​glass option wasn’t quite cold yet. Yes, there’s wine and beer on tap as well, if you catch it when the keg is chilly enough.
A $ 20 bottle of rose from Provence makes me happy. Should I have chosen a California Chardonnay in celebration of July 4 weekend? Maybe. But don’t take French rose away from a wino — put that in your pipe and smoke it, Uncle Sam.

What a great concept! Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about beer and can guide you if your indecisiveness takes hold. They also have a decent selection of quality hard alcohol as well as a couple rows of wine to peruse. The walk in beer cooler is fantastic on a hot summer day and is home to a large variety of different craft brews and wine.
I can’t say I like the location of this place but everything else was enjoyable and I will keep them at the top of my list next time I’m on that side of town.

Every time I visit Craft I walk out with a new favourite. I’m currently in love with Stiegl Radler, the first time I went there it was Sam Smith’s Strawberry Ale. Their walk-​in cooler has a great selection of craft beer & wine. They also carry a fine selection of hard alcohol. Not your run of mill booze, but QUALITY spirits. Thus far I haven’t actually enjoyed a beverage on premises but I aspire to one day. They have a picnic table outside and plenty of seating inside.
They are a little expensive but honestly they are in the range of total wine, far more convenient (for me anyway), AND local.

Great craft beer and wine place. This place is great for hanging out. Always a chill atmosphere. The bartenders are always super nice. You can’t go wrong here!

Love this place — knowledgeable servers, picnic table seating, unpretentious, locals place. Tonight we celebrated a birthday over happy hour, sharing bottles of wine and a brought-​with-​us cake. Ty & co. are always accommodating and friendly. A Mid Town must try!

Mellow classy unpretentious place to relax and have a chill drink. Love the big window for people watching and rustic wooden benches to drink and conversate. Great selection of beverages and beautiful glassware to enjoy them in. Staff helpful and interactive with patrons. Loved the big custom wooden bar. Would come back for sure!

Went to celebrate a friends birthday. What a great choice! This is like one of those cool trendy wine joints that opened ten years ago only to close soon thereafter. The difference is, this is not pretentious, but rather warm and inviting.
We went to the cooler and picked a bottle of the good stuff. So much to choose from as the cooler is huge. Seems big enough for all the beer and maybe housing a meat packing facility as well. Anyway, we took our beer to the counter where the guy told us about our selections, poured them and we paid. Then sat at a wooden picnic table with our friend and proceeded to have a great time. The place is just comfortable. Not so comfy that I want to take a nap there and there aren’t any TV’s showing the football game, but just cozy so you can feel free to be yourself.
That’s exactly what we did and will do again soon.

You know, most of my reviews are very wordy, but this one doesn’t NEED to be. Their selection is great, the atmosphere is fun, laid back, and you’re bound to plop down next to some random person at any of the communal style tables and strike up a conversation.
This place is just awesome, and you should come try it. The end.

Went here for the «Best UYE ever!!» on a Monday. I hadn’t ever been here before because beer is just not my thing. We were there to celebrate the last day of the Unilocal on Tap week and maybe even have a pint of the nevadabeer that was made by the community of Reno with Under the Rose.
After a long hot day of getting things done about the house, it was nice to walk into their walk in cooler and pick out a nice cider. They have a pretty extensive selection of ciders. Honestly the two I picked weren’t really all that. The second would have been great with dinner. Almost like a chilled white wine instead of a cider.
But really the review isn’t about the one or two ciders I had. It’s about the cool place that you can get many different beers, wines and ciders at an affordable price and enjoy the nice environment as well.
The large windows and all that natural light really make this place feel homey and upscale at the same time. The women who were behind the counter were very friendly and über helpful. One reason to come back to a place is the staff making you feel welcome and this definitely was a very welcoming staff. They talked about different ciders and beers I might like and suggested a good number.
I will go back… just not for awhile, I think my liver needs a break from Unilocal on Tap week.

It all began at Craft Wine-​n-​Beer some months ago while exploring their beautiful beer cave. A golden bottle, glistening in the cold damp air, seemingly sang to me from the shelf. I moved closer, drawn in by the beautiful packaging, and gently removed the bottle from it’s resting place for a quick read of the label. I realized immediately that I was holding something special, Jolly Pumpkin’s «Oro de Calabaza», or Pumpkin Gold, an incredible beer with an unbelievably unique flavor profile that is like nothing you’ve ever tasted before.
Oro de Calabaza has become my beer unicorn, and I’ve chased it from store to store in search of something similar with no success. It has become a beer by which I measure other shops staff and their selections, because if you can accurately describe this beer, you know your stuff.
Thanks to this amazing discovery, Craft has become my go to place for learning about and exploring beers of all types. Craft also offers a nice selection of wines and spirits too! It is a comfortable and warm environment with a knowledgable staff that is happy to guide you to what you’re looking for or show you something new. 4 stars only because this place is so darn popular, that sometimes it can be very difficult to get the help or direction you’re seeking, or even a seat, but one thing you can be sure of is a good time.
Ty and his team are dedicated to their «craft» and want everyone to find their favorite, and some new friends to share it with, at Craft.

Background — Ty or Craft sends me e-​mails about the upcoming events. I saw that they were having a welcome back to Reno for Oskar Blues Brewery. So had to go to welcome Oskar Blues.
Atmosphere — It is a package store meets bar what else can you ask for? Oh yeah and meet and greet a great brewery. You walk in and the bar is right there. The front of the place has wine in their boxes on display. On the far wall there is craft hard liquors. I love tequila and they had stuff I have never seen. They have a walk in cooler for the beer, which is pretty cool. Okay very cold. I was not able to spend as much time in there as I wanted. I like more of the dairy case style where the beer is cold and you can still see it. This is probably not as environmentally friendly as the walk in but more comfortable.
Drinks — I started with Oskar Blue’s Ten Fidy a great thick stout poured from the tap. After finishing it we went to the Electric Blue Elephant to get some food as that was a very strong beer. Came back for some G’Knight Imperial Red IPA for a 16 ounce can. I love a good IPA and this hit the spot.
Service — The staff was extremely busy with the huge crowd tonight but they were friendly and prompt.
Future — I want to try some more of what they have on tap.
