Based on the description of their company below i’d say they keep true to form. I’ve normally been a go to the grocery store kind of guy to score an appropriate card for the occasion. Papyrus is a way for a man like me to amp up his game. The store is well laid out and I appreciate that although small, has an excellent selection. The staff was helpful and guided me to there selection of Thank You cards. I was able to pick up some really unique cards and the woman that helped me also brought me up to speed on their website that offers custom stationary — and their rewards program Perks which offers Buy 3 cards, get 1FREE. A great deal for me since I was purchasing four cards anyway. I believe i’ll go out of my way to come back for some special Christmas cards i’ll be sending. The word Papyrus(pah·pie·rus) comes from the earliest form of paper crafted from the papyrus plant. PAPYRUS was founded in the family kitchen of Marcel and Margrit Schurman in 1950. Inspired by a love of fine art, they had a vision for products of uncompromising quality which provided the starting point from which genuine personal connections are made. They presented their products in an inviting gallery setting to encourage engagement with the products and with a friendly helpful staff.

This is my favorite card store. This teeny shop nestled in the middle of Meadowood Mall has managed to survive for all of these years. I think it may have been one of the original stores in the mall — it has been here as long as I have been coming over the last 20 years. I really like the funny unique cards they sell. OK. I know they are a chain but they sell really cool stuff so I will forgive them. Staff are friendly and helpful. Browsing is really fun here as they carry so many other cool things besides greeting cards. Want a rhinestone studded pen and pencil set? The have it. How about sealing wax and stamps? Yep. Beautiful heavy paper stock monogramed paper and note cards that takes you back to an era where people actually wrote notes and(gasp) mailed them? Check. The major negative about the store is that it is tiny and is very very cramped. I avoid it whenever possible during major card giving holidays or at least try to time my visits when it is not busy. It is one of my few reasons for going to the Mall.

Papyrus has some gorgeous stationery and cards. I went in there a few years back to get a Valentine’s day card, and was looking for something not so stereotypical, or corny, I wanted something pretty and simple. And I found a cute as buttons one. The prices are generally high. The store space is cramped. But, sometimes, getting yer’ old standard hallmark card just isn’t gonna cut it. And they do have a pretty ok selection. So once in a while I’d browse and see if they had anything that caught my eye. Plus, when you’re looking around wal-mart for a Mother’s day card, and you can’t even squeeze your way around the hoard of people looking for the same exact thing as you, you’d almost think that paying more and going somewhere else a little more unique, is worth it.

Danielle was amazing and helped me find birthday cards in two seconds flat! I remembered how helpful she was the last time I visited and I love shopping at this store! I always find more beautiful things than I came in for!

Back when I used to work at the mall, I would go to Papyrus all the time on my lunch break. I love stationery, always have, and even though I couldn’t afford most of what they had, it was fun to look around at the tons of stuff. Now, the opposite is the case: I could afford their stuff if I wanted, but the cramped, crowded store, where you can barely squeeze past someone in an aisle, has lost its charm for me. I appreciate an artful, inviting display, but not when things are jam-packed together so tightly that I’m afraid to pick something up for fear of knocking over a dozen other things. It’s true that Papyrus probably has the best selection in town for boxed notecards as well as single-serve greeting cards. From classy, high-end Crane stationery to fun, affordable Marcel Shurman, they have plenty of choices to suit everyone. Around Xmas, they also have a big selection of boxed Xmas cards, although they’re pretty pricey. They also stock lots of cute trinkets and small gifts — things like scented candles, wax seals, and pretty wrapping paper. Although there’s a clearance section in the back, I’ve never found it to be especially rewarding. From time to time, I have scored a bargain there, but 25% off too much is still too much, so don’t expect to find crazy deals there or anything. If you want to get someone a cute gift but aren’t exactly sure what, Papyrus is a good place to go and survey your options. And if you’re one of the few people who still writes snail-mail notes, then you’ll appreciate their selection of boxed notecards. For the most part, though, going to Papyrus isn’t worth the mall-employee flashbacks I get whenever I set foot in there.
