The tofu banh mi was average at best. Way too heavy on the carrot, and light on everything else. Also, I wasn’t crazy about the texture of the roll. I would only come here again if for some reason I couldn’t make it to any of the other banh mi options in Renton.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon during a seahawks game… There was one other customer getting a drink to-go, so they clearly weren’t busy. It took quite some time to get my BBQ pork sandwich, and it definitely wasn’t worth the wait!!! So nasty!!! The bread was very stale and not toasted, and the pork was pure gristle and fat. :(hella nasty…

So I walked in and I saw GODELI on my right, and I saw a more restaurant style of seating on my left. I was a bit confused… but I came in to order a Banh Mi, so that was my #1 priority. I looked at the selection and they have about 16 different selections of Banh Mi. So far so good! And also for those who are not into Banh mi they have traditional sandwiches and bagel sandwiches. All the Banh Mi ranged from $ 3 to $ 4. Not the cheapest for banh Mi but it is ok for the location. Not too bad since there is not many places to get Banh Mi in Renton. I got the #2 combo(it seemed to have the most meat in it) it cam out to be $ 4 + tax. So I just gave them $ 5. It took about 6 – 7 mins for my sandwich to come out. I did come in with 3 other people who were all ahead of me. While I was waiting I realized that this place is also a restaurant and its called the«TRIEUCHAUNOODLEHOUSE» this place isn’t even on Unilocal yet. It’s only been opened for about a month. SO I do plan on coming back to sit down and see about how good the cooked foods are. I posted a pic of the appetizer menu and that alone sold me. Lots of things for $ 4-$ 5 !! Overall the service was ok, the lady that cashed me out did not seem very happy, but there was an older gentleman who smiled at me(while I was peeking at their menu) and asked if I would like anything. I told him I already ordered but thank you for asking. I would give the Banh Mi here at this place a 3.5 /5. Reason is because it was a bit on the drier side. The outside was a bit more crunchy and since the inside wasn’t as soft as I expected, it kind of through the textures off, and I love me some texture on food! :) If your in the area and want a decent Viet sandwich come here. Also if you know of a better place that makes Bahn Mi within the renton(or 5 miles radius) area, LETMEKNOWPLEASE!

Best Spring Rolls I’ve had in a long time! Not too gummy, lots of fresh lettuce, nice fresh shrimp. Dipping sauce was not too thick, and had a great flavor! Turkey and cheese sandwich on a croissant was great. My husband and 3 little boys shared it. Pork and egg roll was great.

This place is one of my favorite places to grab a snack whenever I’m in the area. I usually order an avocado smoothie with either a banh mi or crossaint sanwich. Service is pretty good, everyones friendly. Also, every establishment has their own store hours. There are times when Unilocal hours are not completely accurate. Just making note of this because of the random 1 star review.

I had a package to drop off at the post office and also needed to grab some lunch– the perfect combo. I got the pork sandwich and the everything cookie. It was perfect. Quick, light, inexpensive and wonderful! I will be back and this time I won’t wait 2 years!

Tried to order to go today at 5pm and lady said they were closed. Website/yelp says 7pm. The reviews are good and I want to try but I’m disappointed for sure!

Decided to check this out based on the Unilocal reviews. Have to say this is one of those cases where Unilocal let me down. After a day of fun at the nearby 8 Bit Arcade(now that’s a 5 star place, check it out if you can!) I decided to try out Go Deli. I went with the grilled chicken(ga nuong), and a pork bun. I wanted to try the Thai iced tea as well but they were out so I settled for a strawberry smoothie. I’ll rate them in order: — The grilled chicken was the best part of the meal but it wasn’t spectacular. The bread was good and the veggies seemed good and fresh, but the meat was pretty sparse and didn’t have a tremendous flavor. Even though it’s a 10 inch sandwich it still felt like not much of a meal; I was glad I got the pork bun to go with it. Well sort of glad. But then again it was only $ 3. — The pork bun was OK. It tasted super sweet to me. Maybe that’s how they’re supposed to be, but sweet and meat together doesn’t do much for me. The pork wasn’t super-tender either; overall a bit disappointing. — The strawberry smoothie was not very good. Looked and tasted like Pepto Bismal. I do like the sealed lids though, that was a nice touch. Overall probably not a place I’ll go back to real soon, but I wouldn’t be totally against giving them another chance sometime.

Vietnamese sandwiches are all good, but if you are new go with either the grilled chicken or pork and you won’t be disappointed. For like $ 7.50 you get a foot long sandwich and a spill proof iced coffee! My absolute favorite place to eat in greater Seattle area. You can also get all of there awesome food like 5 egg rolls for 3.50 or their spring rolls are the best.

First time there today on a visit and if it’s one of the best place to have banh mi. I’d rather stay in Houston. Service is good but sandwich is just alright and nothing much to write about. Got their special sandwich and found their pâté way too runny! It’s should be spreadable not jelly… Also we had their three color desserts. We had a group of 9 and two of our drinks were made with soured milk… Totally killed the experience. Sorry Renton this place is just passable.

I have been here a few times and leave happy every time. Really good sandwiches and bubble tea. Parking can be hard to find when busy. In walking distance to just about everything in Renton. Deil specializes in Vietnamese sandwiches and drinks but there is something for everyone. Bakery items look amazing but I have only had the sandwiches. The sandwiches are made once you order. Large portions and well worth the price which is very reasonable. I will keep coming back to try new things!

I found this place while searching on Unilocal for a new sandwich place I could go to. I was getting tired of Subway and was desperately craving a sandwich. Found this place on Unilocal and based on the decent reviews, I decided to give it a try. Go Deli is located in Downtown Renton so parking can be difficult to find and with all the one-way streets if you don’t find parking right away, you’ll need to drive around to get back there, which happened to me. There is a parking lot right next to the deli, but it’s for post office customers ONLY. Anyway, to stay on the safe side I decided to get the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi sandwich combo which came with a drink and chips or an egg roll all for $ 5! WHAT A DEAL! The sandwich was alright. The bread definitely crispier on the outside and softer on the inside, but not as soft as other banh mi sandwiches i’ve had. Service was really quick and I got my food in a matter of minutes, however the cashier was not friendly at all. It seemed like she expected me to read her mind. The restaurant was alright and a little run-down. Overall, the sandwich was good and for $ 5 for a meal it was a good deal.

Update 12-28-2013 New Service… Fantastic. Food as always excellent. It is nice to have good Bahn Mi again. recommend it to your friends. This food is Great. I have never enjoyed Banh Mi so much which is why I have been going here for years. Sadly, my tenure as a customer has come to an end. I took a break for a while and when I was gone, they hired this girl behind the counter that is incredibly rude. She will ask you a question and not even look at you. Then gets mad when you don’t answer promptly. There was another person there… how was I supposed to know who she was talking to. She acts like the customer is an inconvenience. She cut me off when speaking and was snotty when I had to correct my order. And that is the other thing… she doesn’t listen. I ordered one thing and she verified something else. I don’t know what her deal is but I went there three times and she had the same attitude. My money will go elsewhere. I wrote a review 05-04-2011 and the service was great. The waitress must be related to someone. NOTGOINGBACK!!!

I like the fact that the restaurant is clean so I’m not reluctant to order banh mi here & worry about bird poo. You’ll have to read up on the health code violations in the area to get that one. They also make their own baguettes for the sandwiches which is even better. I just find that it lacks in flavor. Kind of bland. The drinks are by far my favorite. Love the pennyworth drink and their Vietnamese ice coffee is delicious and large in size. Service is friendly even though all you do is just place an order. Not much too it.

As others have noted the Bahn Mi is good, here’s why. The bread. It’s fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. That’s what makes the sandwiches here so good. They have lot of choices with combos of different meats, and you can add a fried egg and avocado to any sandwich for a $ 1 each which I highly recommend. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is 1) They no longer serve the meatballs. These were fantastic, but now all they have as hot sides are the fried eggrolls which are rather mediocre and 2) No refills on fountain drinks. C’mon Go Deli, a refill on a $ 2 fountain drink costs you a few cents. At least provide one. They have some really good cookies and brownies too. I tried the«everything» cookie and it’s fantastic.

There are two things that keep me coming back to Go Deli. #1. MEATBALLSON A STICK. Breaded pork meatballs on a stick served with Sweet Chili Sauce. So simple, yet so amazing. #2. $ 3 Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches on their house-made bread which is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. For your friends who have never ordered a Banh Mi, do not let them go with the safe route and get a Traditional Sandwich like Ham and Cheese! It’s more expensive and not as good! Order them the BBQ Pork or Grilled Chicken/Pork — still very much in the style of Banh Mi but very first-timer friendly. For the more experienced, definitely get their combo sandwich with jambon, head cheese, pâté, cha lua roll!

If I had to choose a state to describe Go Deli, I would say Texas would be fitting. Everything is bigger here. I bought a Groupon a while ago and drove to downtown Renton to visit Go Deli. It is between Phở Hoa on the corner and a branch of USPS. The left side is where the food is at, while the right side is a large area of seating. Not sure that much seating is warranted here though. Seems more like a grab and go type of place. But seating is a nice to have. The selection is mostly of snack type foods, a large selection of banh mi and regular sandwiches, bubble tea and a decent size bakery selection which includes cakes. I picked up a large bag full of treats including the #15 grilled pork banh mi sandwich($ 2.99), a pâté chaud, a BBQ pork bun($ 1.35), a chocolate brownie($ 2.25) and a chocolate croissant. The banh mi has all the ingredients you would expect, but the shape is different. The baguettes are longer, so it gives this feeling like they are bigger when they really aren’t. The ingredients are just stretched out more. The sandwich was decent, though I think I prefer a smaller baguette. Unless you pack the banh mi, it really just make it seem like there is a lot of filler. This was the same issue I had with the pâté chaud. A lot of puff pastry, but not a lot of meat filling. I will say the meat was good though, but I can do without so much excess. Still these offerings are a good value for the price. Plus there are not that many places to go for this type of fare in the South End. I will say the BBQ pork bun here is really great. One of the best I have had in Seattle I would say. It does taste a bit more buttery tasting than other places. Perhaps because of the European baking influence on them. As for the chocolate brownie and croissant, these were items that were surprisingly very large. Despite my concern that these items would have the same issue that the banh mi and pâté chaud suffer of having too much filler, that concern was disproved. These two items oozed chocolateness. The brownie was moist, even though I ate it the next day. And I didn’t even need to reheat it. The powdered sugar and walnuts on top are a nice touch. A lot of goodness, so much that half of one would be a sufficient portion. The croissant also succeeded as it was perfectly flaky with a delicious chocolate filling in the middle. If you are looking for large baked goods at a reasonable price, Go Deli is the place. Though I will say that I have had better banh mi and pâté chaud elsewhere.

Thanks to a Seattle Times article, I now know that there is a Vietnamese sandwich(Bánh mì) place in my neck of the woods! When an article touts Go Deli with the likeness of Seattle Deli, Tammy’s Bakery and Saigon Deli; you better believe I am gonna test out the(baked) goods. It is located next to Phở Hoa. The plain jane exterior of the storefront, to a newbie passerby, suggests that it is one of those run-of-the-mill, ho-hum, sandwich shops. BUT, upon entering the establishment I was astonished by the layout and the fact that they are also a bakery for customized cakes. Other goodies like eggrolls, desserts, Vietnamese coffee(cà phê sua dá), smoothies with boba and more. Unlike other Bánh mì shops, Go Deli provides a seating area for about 20 or so patrons and actual bathrooms! The only other place I know of that has this feature would be Yeh Yeh’s in Lynnwood. A notable item too is that they accept credit cards and not a CASHONLY place like most cramped Viet delis. The employees were attentive and made the whole experience pleasant and the absence of «upsell nagging» was a breath of fresh air. I ordered up a couple of sandwiches, a dessert item, pastries, a sugar cane drink and coffees. The sandwich was not as large as the typical sammy but it possessed the qualities I look for. For example, the three main ingredients, bread, meat and veggies are key to the perfect sandwich: 1) Bread must be crunchy but not too hard or it will break into crumbs quickly and cut the insides of your mouth. Their bread is crunchy and has enough softness inside left. We had a brief discussion with the mgr/owner on this so… Check! 2) Meat must have a seasoning that is neither too salty nor should it be tasteless. Check! I had a meatball sandwich and I think it has the right flavors but it should be a hot meatball sandwich to make it even better. Made that suggestion and they liked the idea. I will try it again next time with the hot option! They are flexible and can make it to order. 3) Veggies that brings the two together include the pickled carrot and daikon, sliced cucumbers, cilantro and a jalapeños. This portion was on point but could use a bit more to fill the sandwich. The coffees tasted nice and smooth due to a touch of french vanilla. The pastry item was light and flaky but the filling needs work(i.e. adding seasoning/flavor to the meat or maybe onions?). So far, I like: Either the«hot version» of the meatball sandwich or the pork roll/bbq sandwich with a bag of chips and Vietnamese Coffee for a light meal. As I ate alongside my soulmate, a steady crowd of patrons lined up to fill their bellies for lunch. All I can do is smile and know that I have a place I can depend on for yummy sandwiches without driving way out. Gas is averaging $ 3.609 per gallon now so times are hard! Last note: parking is a mess so be prepared to circle around a few times.

Go Deli in Downtown Renton serves great Vietnamese sandwiches, and only 3 bucks! The bread is incredibly fresh and delicious. They have plenty of sandwiches to choose from Bahn Mi to Traditional sandwiches, over 35 delicious varieties! The(2) sandwiches I’ve tried so far are: Grilled Pork which is excellent! & they have a Special Combo which consist of Sliced jambon, head cheese, pork roll & paté. I want to try all of them! **Like catching Pokemon. They have Fresh Sugar Cane Juice with a slight citrus taste to quench your thirst & they serve really tasty Bubble Tea as well. The next time I stop by I’m going to try their Vietnamese Coffee, Eggrolls & Fried Chicken Wings! Go Deli is Open 7 days a week * 7am — 7pm Check out their website for further yummy details! =D Gogogo to Go Deli =)
