I love Dr. kohanoff’s work! He did my veneers and my teeth are now perfect. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! It was such an easy and painless process. Will definitely recommend him to my friends and family. Thank canby dental!

Dr. Kohanoff is the most gentle, caring dentist. From the moment I walked into his office his staff greeted me in a professional matter and took care of me. As soon as I got seen by the doctor, I knew I was in good hands. I had a cavity that the doctor filled for me and I didn’t even feel a thing! I can’t wait to come back for my follow up cleaning. This is my first and last experience at CANBY DENTAL/“Dr” BABAK KOHANOFF D.D.S
It had been a year since my last cleaning because of lack of insurance and I know I did not keep up with my teeth like I should, so few days ago I scheduled an appointment for a dental cleaning now that I have insurance and because I will be going out of the country and wanted to make sure at least I wouldn’t have to worry about my teeth when I get there
Today I walk in to Canby Dental and the woman behind the counter is very nice and helpful. After filling out my paperwork they called me in the back and prepared me to see the doctor. He came in and told me as a first time client they need to take x-​rays and will probably reschedule my cleaning for another day. To me that did not seem like a good practice to not do the cleaning as was originally scheduled. I told the doctor this does not work for me as I’m going away tomorrow out of the country for an extended period and I wanted to get a cleaning before I left. The doctor said we will get the x-​rays and then see if he was able to do a cleaning for me. He decided he would do the cleaning after my x-​rays, so I thanked him and continued with the procedure. After the assistant completed the x-​rays the doctor came in to do the cleaning. The entire cleaning took in total no more than seven minutes at most. The ultrasonic scaler was used but no scrapers whatsoever. Also they did a tooth polishing. Once again the entire cleaning procedure scaler and polisher was no more than seven minutes. He said to rinse and that I was done. I was slightly in shock and just left. When I went back to the car my teeth did not feel clean like they normally do after a dental cleaning at other practices, and I even noticed there was tartar on some of my bottom front teeth! I returned right away to the office to get a card and ask the question if this is how cleanings are normally handled at this office. I was told by the assistant there was no real bleeding so there wasn’t much of a cleaning needed and my gums were healthy. I did not choose to are you at this time as a professional they should know better. I took Dr BABAK KOHANOFF’s Business card so I can make sure I get the right person on the review.
It’s funny even his business card had a white out on it and the address was written in by hand. I was very disappointed that he did not really try to clean my teeth. they also did not show any real personal interest.
I have family in the dental profession and to this point have always had recommendations for dentists. This one time I did not ask for a recommendation I ended up having the worst cleaning experience ever. I would rather have a little pain and clean teeth! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL PRACTICE.

Never got to see the doctor. Office called night before to make sure I would be there, but turned around morning of appointment and called my home number when I wasn’t there less than an hour before my appointment to tell me doctor needed to go to a meeting and would not be there. When I arrived, office staff gave me new patient paperwork to complete and didn’t bother telling me they had left me a message a half hour earlier that doctor wasn’t there. It was only when my wife called and told me about the voicemail they left on our home machine that I was informed that doctor stood me up. They asked me to come back in the afternoon, but they already wasted too much of my day. Any doctor that is treating his patients like this before even seeing them is a red flag for me. I’m trying to get the insurance to take back his capitation and place me at another office.

Dr. Kohanoff is a doctor you can really trust because he cares about his patients and their overall well being. My family has been going to him since before I was born but not as often as we should just due to the lack of insurance during certain periods. I am actually a dental assistant now and I think having a great dentist like him made me interested about the field.
A trust worthy Doctor with a really nice chair side manner can be rare. You’ll be in good hands with Dr. Kohanoff. If I actually had dental benefits that were outside of my office I would still be going to see him.
