This review is not about the Ked Plasma facility but more about the ‘Assistant Manager’, Sorry to see this asset leave because none of the managers before who cared about the cliental. Cherie Jenkins. Cherie provided great customer service to me with an issue regarding my donations. In a nutshell, Cherie listened to the issue I was having and told me she would look into the situation and get back to me. She kept her word, by calling me. She explained how it was resolved. To me, this is great customer service. Overall, since coming to Ked Plasma, Cherie has been very friendly and helpful to us donors. I have even seen Cherie helping in the donation area when they were short handed doing whatever the lead phlebotomist asked of her (prepping the next row of seats, bringing donors back and even changing some can liners). Overall she has been great!
Cherie is a GREAT asset to any company that hires her as a manager. I do understand returning home to family. She and her smiling caring personality will be missed.

She kept her word, calling me later that day and explaining she would not be able to get an answer until the next morning and would call me hopefully by noon that next day. Again. .. she did. She explained the situation and how it was resolved. She then advised me that I would be able to donate again on my regularly scheduled days. To me, this is great customer service. I think Kedplasma is great… because of its employees. However, every few months, there’s new employees except for a few of the vets such as Hilda, Tina, Ernie, Alex, Michelle, Andrew, Brandon, Desiree, Nadia and I just found out Donte is no longer working there. no surprise there. He was a someone that everyone loved. There’s only a pinch of black employees. I can clearly see if youre not hispanic, you will not be supervisor. Why is that girl Ana still working there? She is a rude condescending asshole who has no customer service ethic WHATSOEVER! I bet she is close friends with the supervisor or manager, which HAS to be the reason she’s still there. Andrew is a very nice person. He gets things done opposite his counterpart Celia I believe her name is. Anyone can see she can not handle pressure situations. From what I understand, there has been no happiness since Kedplasma took over. The employees should be compensated according to the work performed and that’s not happening and then they wonder why people keep leaving. THEY DON’T FEEL APPRECIATED! They are overworked and underpaid. Open your eyes Kedplasma! VALUE YOUR EMPLOYEES WHO MAKE MONEY FOR YOU!!! GIVE THEM RAISES… THEY DESERVE IT! Otherwise the morale will always be low. Side note* The manager, Cherie is very hands on. I’ve seen her working in different departments like the room where you donate, not Monica. All I ever see her do is walk around texting on her cell phone and laughing in that witchy poo voice.
P. S. Does corporate know what you’re doing at that Reseda location? My suggestion is fix the higher ups, supervisors and managers because that’s where it starts.

This facility is above and beyond the previous plasma center I went to (Octapharma). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, bathrooms are clean and the wait times very respectable. Highly enjoyable experience.

I’ve gone to a couple of different places in the Valley, and though Kedplasma does have kind of a warehousey/​Matrix feel, the staff are great, the extras are awesome, and the pay-​out is among the best. I also get through in 90 min. or less, on the average day.
I’ve seen a lot of hype about Grifols, and though it has its «charms,» so to speak, the one thing that I will HANDS DOWN always choose Kedplasma for, is they don’t FORCE the 500mg of saline on you after the first donation. I don’t mind the donation process itself, but the saline is pure liquid hell, and for that alone, I will choose Kedplasma over Biomat every time. (To «require» it for people under 175lbs. is nonsensical, anyway. My body’s is no less capable of regenerating and replacing fluid based on my weight ratio – which governs how much plasma they remove than someone over 175lbs. Deal-​breaker!)
I’ll stick with Kedplasma. At least they never made me wait 6 hours (!!!) then tried to defer me because I hadn’t eaten in 2 – 4 hours. In fact, they even feed you, if needed.
I truly don’t understand the low reviews — especially the condescending, rude, and discriminatory judgments about other patrons/​donors!

It’s unfortunate that most of these peoples reviews are low. My experience was exceptional.
I was a newbie who was recommended by a friend. Sure it takes awhile but Kedplasma does a great job at making the process go smoothly step by step. They offer you food and water while you wait with several TV’s playing some classic movies.
The staff was very informative, courteous and professional. Broke everything down and explained in detail. The pay is $ 50 for first timers.
I’ve never donated plasma before, only blood. I would definitely recommend this place to others and will be returning soon. Remember the real reason why your doing it, is to HELP somebody. There are some strange people at times but theres no reason to judge.

Very poor service!!! I will never go there again! The people are rude, and they gave me a hematoma in both arms on the same day! Not a happy camper at all.

Did my veins just collapse ?
They seem quite irritated whenever you point out that the needle inserted is either; too deep, hitting a nerve, or not positioned right.
But how would I know this? Oh I think I may be a MA/​PHLEBOTOMIST in training.
They also do a lot of fishing !! AKA (needle searching for your veins) which is a big NO NO. I told the person who did my set up «Ernie» (who was an absolute doll) that my needle was hurting my arm. I sent my sister a pic (a certified phlebotomist) and she immediately said the needle was too deep! I thought maybe I took it (pic) at a bad angle .
However, whenever an Asian worker walked over to assist me whenever Ernie could not, she then also pointed out that the needle was pretty deep and it may have hit a nerve, causing the pains I had been feeling.
All I know was I was experiencing extreme discomfort and pain in my intravenous area. I asked them to cease the donation, prompting them to present me with a waiver pretty much stating: «If I complain of pains again, I’m banned from donating».
Their so not invited to my wedding.

I have gone three times recently, and each time the staff was professional, courteous, and were able to find the vein and correctly stick me each time. The wait is about 90 min from arrival to the time you leave (if it isn’t your first time-​first time takes about 3 hrs). Its clean, organized, there is a security guard on duty to eject people who aren’t behaving properly. I have yet to experience a problem at all

Today I went in for a second donation and I’m shocked at the poor service. I was assured that each subsequent visit after the initial one would only take an hour. I was forced to wait for over an hour before being called in to donate. I’m done with this depressing, poorly managed dump!

This is my 2^nd review. I’m sitting in the chair now donating. Pretty much everytime I come here there is always a problem with the needle because half the workers here can’t get it right the first time. The needle always has to be repositioned. Except for one worker named Chris. I have big veins so there no need to not be able to hit it right the first time. I wouldn’t suggest coming to KED plasma. I would find another donation place unless you can have Chris stick you every time.

One star for one star management. Cherie, the manager is very unprofessional, and is a power tripping, egotistical lunatic and by letting her do what she wants, «Chuck», her higher up is even worse. The system functions, b/​c its a good system, but the bad apples on top leave the place with a bad reputation and could easily lead to law suits for negligence, discrimination, and breach of contract… I was «terminated» from this center for reporting Cherie to her manager, true story…
I arrive on October 27^th 2014 to donate with my sunglasses on, as they are most of the time. The lady taking my vitals asks me to remove them, I lower them to reveal my eyes. She asks again and I lower them further, then remind her that I always wear them until I get to the donor floor. In comes Cherie: «remove your glasses.» I lower them. «Remove them or you don’t donate.» I remove them. Upon complying with her demands I make a request one of my own, «I want a different person to do my vitals».
«We can’t do that, we’re busy».
I say, «why not just let this lady take the next person and I’ll go to the next person? I’m sure as a professional manager, you can do that.» I can tell she’s agitated. She tries to play the «do you wanna donate today» card again but I don’t fall for it. Then she tells me it’s gonna take a while. I say «that’s fine» and go sit down. 10 minutes later she calls me into her office and she’s pissed.
The first thing she angrily said was «I don’t tolerate disrespect «
(this is when I began recording her, for personal protection)
Her ego was hurt from when I reminded her that she was (supposed to be) a professional manager. So she feeds me this story about how she had «heard» (not written, nor any previous write ups) that I had been trouble before (with the same lady taking my vitals, for not taking the sunglasses all the way off) Therefore I could not donate today. She sees me recording her and says, «that’s fine, you can record me. That doesn’t bother me» and I say, «well good because I’ve been recording you the whole time!»
That’s when she goes berserk, calls security and says that it’s illegal to record her. I remind her that she’s a public employee and unless otherwise noted, it is in my legal rights to do so. I get her managers name and number and leave…
October 29^th; I call and tell Cherie that I’ll take off my shades instead of lowering them. She removes my deferral. I arrive, sign in then ask to speak with Cherie’s supervisor, Chuck. In comes hyped up Cherie. «WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I thought we weren’t gonna have any more problems with you! «I’m gonna talk to Chuck, I’ve left several voice mails and he never returned my calls.»
Cherie-«DO U WANNA DONATE?!
Me– «Thats why I’m here. Are you telling me that if I talk to Chuck I can’t donate?»
Cherie-«yes»
At this point I’m in disbelief and can see Chuck so I waive him over. He acts annoyed. I’m busy, what is it?»
Me-«well geeze, Chuck I’ve been leaving voice mails and haven’t heard from you, we need to talk, but the thing is, Cherie says that if I talk to u, I can’t donate, is that true?»
Chuck– «no»
I talk for a few sentences, he stops listening and repeats what Cherie told him about the situation, then tells me that the plasma center «cannot accommodate «any changes such as changes in personnel checking my vitals.
Then he says that Cherie is in charge of the floor and can do what she wants. Then, right in front of me, he asks Cherie, «so do u want to defer him?» Needless to say she does!
She tells me that she’s «the nicest person ever» but I’m just «too much trouble». I ask her what rule I broke, but then she drops the bombshell; deferred for life
So I tell her to enjoy her power trip and she arranges to have security escort me out.. . Again!!! On the way out I chant «Cherie is a bee-​Och
This seems kind of fishy, do I have any legal rights?

Expect to be there a minimum of 3 hours on your first visit. It all really depends on how busy they are but it’s also a lengthy process. I’ve been there 4 times now and I’ve had a good experience every time. The place seems well run. The bathrooms can use a little extra cleaning but they’re not the worst either. Every employee I’ve dealt with has been very nice.

Today my experince was so bad I’ve reduced the rating down to 2 stars. There’s this new girl in the front doing the vitals who goes by the name of ana who had such a bad attitude it was unbelievable. Sucks your having a bad day but dont take it out on me. Everytime she requested something of me she requested it with such horrible attidude. She told me to stepped on the scale with such a little bitch ass demanding voice that even her neighbor in the next booth monica stared at her. She then requested I showed her my arms which I did but after doing so, asked me with yet again a demanding loud voice to show her my arms and hands again. Monica kept staring at her again but then only this time stared at me afterward. Probably wondering If I was going to say something to her. I actually did want to talk shit to her but in doing so probably would of lead to a deferral for the day. I was not about to go home just yet. During the prick on my finger she kept cursing in front of me at the fact that she was not getting the full amoun of blood into the little stick. It was obvious she was having a bad day but damn I been coming here for couple of years and this is the most disrespect I’ve ever received from this place. Horrible.
On the plus side most staff here is nice, johanna is my fav she’s a very sweet girl. Ana is not. I kept it kool this time next time fuck it I’ll take the deferral im taking shit.
For those wondering, deferral here means Kicked out for the day. AKA You just wasted your time waiting here.

It is not as bad as people say it is. I have been donating here since 2011.
Honestly some people come in with bad attitudes, talk loud on the cellphone, talk loud in general. If this is the case, what do you think you’ll get in return?
I don’t understand how somebody could wait three hours to donate. My very first time it took about 2.5 hours or so. Since then, the longest I have waited is about 2 hours because of so many people ahead of me on heavy days.
Most of the time, it’s a 20 – 30 min wait to get vitals, then 15 – 20 to get in the chair and about 37 – 42 mins to donate. Lately it’s been 41 – 43 mins, I can’t drink any more water really, it’s a combination of dry Southern California weather, donating the max (880cc) and overall dryness of the body.
So about 90 mins of my time. Slightly less on light days.
Just last month they have increase your first donating (after your first two) to $ 35. According to my research it’s one of the highest payouts in Southern California.
I just have to mention however that some people mess up the bathrooms, mark them up with graffiti, break the headphones at the questionare touchscreens, mark up the touchscreens. When told not to plug phone chargers into the outlets, they did it anyway. When told to keep smelly food out of the waiting area, they kept doing it until they adopted zero tolerance. I mention before the loud conversations people tend to have in there.
They recently upgraded one of the two A/​C units, will be adding WiFi and charging stations for your cell phones.
Overall, I enjoy going, I like a few of the people that work there and constantly talk to them.
I was originally turned on to this place by a classmate.

This is one of the worst places to donate in the San Fernando Valley. Not only do the individuals working here take their time (walking back and forth to ask a question instead of calling and having side conversations every chance they get) but they are rude (no manners, poor grammar and they don’t wait to hear you out but talk over you which wastes your time because they failed to understand the situation) and give false information (no one was on the same page). After nearly waiting for three hours one day I still wasn’t able to donate. Honestly the money you get is not worth all the stress. Monica has one of the biggest attitudes and made a noticeable effort to prolong the process and not let me donate. She continued to give me the run around, asked me to come back another day. The second time I waited for two hours and was still not able to donate. She did not follow thru with what she said she was going to do and had no consideration of my time. The sense of urgency is non existent and they treat you like lab rats. I wish I could give zero stars because the lack of motivation, customer service and overall experience was such a waste of time. Biomat will be moving right down the street on White Oak & Ventura and I would much rather go there because the people are much nicer. They joke with you, ask you about your day and make you feel welcomed. The wait is only two hours and they really try to help you out.
If only they would have been honest with me, show a little concern or even just smile I would consider one star but KedPlasma is a joke. If you call the «corporate number» all you get is a recorded line. Come on, start being a better business or people will start reporting you to the BBB.

This place is pretty cool. I heard about them through a friend of my son & we thought we’d check them out. Yes, there are a few seedy characters around sometimes, but all in all, the facility is clean, professional, and efficient. I checked out other plasma centers and they were fairly scary and seemed unsafe. This place is well lit, bright, cheery and the staff is very professional & friendly. The negative reviews are a bit off. I too, give blood to the red cross on a regular basis because I am O– and am usually hounded for my blood. But I figured, why not earn a few extra $ while helping my fellow humans? I will be a regular here. My son & I are going back for another donation today. a great way to make a few bucks and after the LONG INVOLVED health screening visit, its a breeze. Well worth it.

Although the staff here are nice, it doesn’t make up for them being unorganized and stupid! So if you don’t mind being inconvenienced by their lack of organization and stupidity, then you’ll do just fine here. After having to wait for two hrs (simply because of the lack of organization and apathetic attitude), I’ve decided that I am unwilling to deal with the lack of poor service any longer, and so after being a regular for over a year I must say goodbye to ked. My time is far to valuble! This place has just turned into another octopharma!

I’m only giving this facility 2 stars because I didn’t actually donate, so I don’t truly know the full experience. What I will tell you, is that I went in there after watching the informative video on their website, where a man was taken into a very clean room where he underwent a screening process to determine if he was eligible, then donated in a comfortable environment.
Now. To KEDPlasma. I pulled into the parking lot and was surprised to see the lot nearly filled on a Thursday at noon. Odd, I thought, but I shrugged it off and began to walk inside. The first person to cross my path right outside the door had a bandage on his arm and a (soon-​to-​be lit) cigarette in his mouth. A FREAKING CIGARETTE? Disgusting. I thought for sure nicotine would disqualify someone from donating. I know many smokers, many of whom are clean people for the most part, but I wouldn’t want their blood or antibodies flowing into my system, no offense.
So I get inside. There are probably 25 people sitting around waiting for their turn. There are two security guards standing at the entrance. The receptionists/​nurses look entirely disinterested in anything happening. There is a dividing wall between the lobby and the «donation area» which honestly looked like a cattle milking farm. Certainly not the way it looked in the video. Not to mention, IT DIDN’T EVEN LOOK CLEAN. The restaurant where I work as a server is cleaner than this place, from what I saw. And let me say again, the donation area was like this.

Did I neglect to mention the look of all the other people that were «ready to donate»; people that looked either homeless or like they were going to use the $ 30 to immediately go buy cigarettes or drugs? I don’t want to ever receive a blood transfusion now. I desire to receive no bodily fluids from a hospital at this point.
I’m O– blood type, and am constantly hounded by blood-​banks to donate more often. However, I will not be returning to this facility. If you feel the need to, please comment back to my review and let me know if my impression was false.
