Augus, the new owner gave me a good price on an alteration over the phone after sending him a picture of the belt I needed sewn. They did an excellent job, finished fast, and called me when the work was done. I would highly recommend this business.

I was looking around on Unilocal because I needed a suit I recently purchased tailored. I of course waited till last minute to do my research. I called 3 other tailors around the valley on Thursday and everyone said they wouldn’t be able to have anything ready until Monday. I messaged Augus trough Unilocal and he quickly responded. I told him what I needed and when I needed by which was Sunday at 12 PM and he said he would have done by Sunday morning and would give me a call. I dropped my suit of Friday at around 5pm… Saturday morning around 11am I get a call… You’re all set and you can come and pick it up. I was really skeptical at first because he had done the work so quickly but I figured it was good that he was done before the day off just in case something was off. I tried on my suit and it was just what I needed. It looked great.
He slimmed down my sleeves and tapered the waist of my jacket. He took in my pants to slim them down and cut off ¼inch from the length.
Augus is courteous and a great tailor. Do not hesitate to give him a call. He treated me like I was a long time customer and didn’t even want to accept an expedited payment I was offering. His prices were reasonable but since he did work fast for me I gave him extra and I also did not even use the 10% discount from Unilocal.Maybe I’ll use it next time since I will definitely will be coming back.

I needed a very formal bridesmaid’s dress altered fast and precisely. I found this place via Unilocal,and decided to try it. Sooo glad I did the new owner Auggie is a sweetheart and VERY professional. I dropped my dress off on a Monday and it was ready friday! I was very impressed with Auggie’s attentive manner, he wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. He was professional, precise, and I found him in perfect timing. Highly recommended!

Took an old pair of slacks to Auggie that were bought as classic fitting. I wanted to have them tailored to a slim fit. Not only did he do an amazing job, he got it done in a day. I was expecting this to take a couple days so I was very surprised when I got the call to come pick them up. The pants look as if I bought them as slim fitting pants. I am highly satisfied. I will be bringing more of my baggy fitting jeans and slacks to him to have them altered!!!

Augus at Lee’s Tailor is great! He is the new tailor/​owner. He is friendly, honest, skilled, fast, and charges a great price! I contacted him to alter a bridesmaid dress I had. I needed it shortened/​hemmed (it had 3 – 4 layers) and needed straps added that could be detached in the front in order for me to breastfeed my 4 month old baby. I also thought that I may need it taken in a bit in the waist. He was honest and told me that I didn’t need it taken in and saved me some money. He was super fast. I came in almost at closing time on a Wednesday night and he contacted me Saturday and told me I could pick it up the next day, Sunday. I couldn’t make Sunday by closing time so I came on Monday. The hem was perfect and he had the straps attached with a button in the front and waited for me to try it on to finish the final length of the straps and sewed them on in the back while I was there. I can’t remember the exact cost but it was very, very low! About a quarter of the cost of some of the places I checked! He was also very friendly and professional! He has a check in deal on Unilocal for 20% off too! He also makes custom suits and women’s dresses! We will definitely be coming back to him next time we need someone altered or hemmed! We highly recommend him!

The new owner, Augus Tan, (I think he took over in mid-​2015) didn’t custom-​make me a suit or shirt, nor did he expertly alter anything for me. But if I needed something like that done, I wouldn’t hesitate to give him a try.
He treated this non-​customer very well, though, when I went in to his shop with an odd request: I was convinced a famous, Valley-​based movie shot a scene in this space 20 years ago, and needed proof for a project I’m working on. Augus was very understanding and welcoming and let me poke around for a few minutes until I found the visual proof I was looking for! (The place is a virtual time-​capsule inside. Wonderful, *authentic* 70s-​era décor – (the location manager for that movie couldn’t have made a better choice!)
We had a brief conversation about how, often, «old-​school» methods of doing things (in this case, hand-​made suits) often yield superior results.
So, five stars for being gracious and welcoming. If I ever need some old-​school tailoring, you can bet I’m going to see Mr. Tan first.

DO NOT GO HERE! I Unilocaled this place and ignored the one 1 Star and went off the other 5 Star reviews, I should of went with the 1 Star review and saved myself the time and money. I took my bikini bottoms in, they were way to big and the place I bought them from (online) only did exchanges, so I did not want to waste my money shipping them back and getting something else (the smallest size was a small, which I had already). I made the decision to just get them tailored. I spoke with LIsa on the phone and she said she could do it. I should of walked out when she had me try on the bikini bottom over my spandex! Lisa DOES NOT take measurements! Lisa pulled the bikini to one side and marked it (3 inch’s she was going to take off) and had me take them off and let me know they would be ready for pick up in a few days. In my head I’m thinking «she’s not just gonna pull the bikini to one side and alter it that way right», making the bikini lop sided.
Instead of taking an inch and a half off each side, she took the entire 3 inches off one side. So when I picked them up (did not try them on) I could already tell she did EXACTLY what I thought she was gonna do, the bikini pulled to one side, I had a complete wedgey on one side and coverage on the other, it was ridiculous and done sooooo poorly! The bikini looked completely different on both sides and you could see where alterations were made (I wish I had taken a pic), I was sooo upset. I took them into another placed on Venturam Suzies Alterations (Eva Alterions on Unilocal) and she took one look and could already see the issue, we both laughed. Suzie said she is going to do everything she can to make it even and I’m so mad I did not go to her in the first place, she is only charging me a few $ more. Save yourself the time and money and go else where!

Mr. Lee does not do the tailorings here anymore that everyone raves about. I’m assuming he’s retired due to old age.
It is now a woman named Lisa. I took 4 pairs of pants to her that needed the waists to be taken in. I was puzzled when she did not even take my measurements. She just had me try the pants on and marked them. I pick up the pants the following week. 2 pairs are way too small at the waist and I could hardly button them up and the crotch was shortened so much it became uncomfortable to wear the pants. The other 2 pairs however were still too loose at the waist. Ruined 4 pairs of brand new pants. Save yourself the money and trouble and go somewhere else.

Great service! I took two pairs of pants for hemming. I had to fly out sooner than expected for a funeral, and they rushed the order for me. They wouldn’t even accept additional payment. Outstanding. I actually opened a Unilocal account just to rate them!

Been going to Mr. Lee for 20years. He’s old now and doesn’t get around well. Just had surgery on his foot, so he tells me that what would have been a 3 day turnaround is now 7 days. And, he’s charging more than he used to, a lot. He only wants cash, no plastic and no checks. (dodging the IRS I suppose). But, he’s good… very, very good. * Just make sure someone is there before you drop in. His hours say he opens at 10am but he’s not usually there until after 11am. Other that that, he’s the best.

I found this place through word of mouth and Unilocal,and went browsing for some fitted suits. I ended up getting a fully tailored suit and I am loving it.
Me Lee is very friendly and is very straightforward in his measurements and tailoring expertise.
He offers very reasonable prices and fairly short turnaround times on a couple of pieces that I liked. He also has custom-​tailored shirts and I may need to stop in again to check those out.
I will definitely be coming back.

Mr. Lee is amazing! I brought in a suit that was not only too big in the pant-​waist but also boxy in the coat with shoulders that were too wide, and pant legs that were too wide. I lost a lot of weight since buying that suit, but I also spend a lot of money on it and didn’t feel like just replacing it. Mr. Lee changed every seam in the suit — pants and jacket — and when I came back, it was like a totally new, custom-​made suit that fit my body perfectly. I couldn’t be more pleased.

So glad I found this tailor. Brought 3 new suits in to be fitted and Mr. Lee made the pants and jackets fit like a glove. Really nice guy that knows his shit. Highly recommend.

Don’t let the modest shop fool you; this is first-​rate tailoring. My father discovered Mr. Lee, an extraordinary tailor, years ago. Since then, we’ve seen him for countless alterations, and a number of gorgeous custom classics. If you want beautifully made to measure pieces at reasonable rates, you’ve found your man. Mr. Lee is my sartorial secret.

Mr. Lee is one of those hidden treasures you dream about. He is an old school Hong Kong tailor and a wizard at his craft. He made trousers for my husband which were «the first proper fit I ever had in my life!» He made blouses for my daughter that were better and finer than the very costly example she brought for him to copy. He made skirts for me that surpass anything I have ever been able to buy. He has superb fabrics to offer and his prices are more than reasonable. If you truly value the fit and workmanship of your clothes, I recommend him without reservation.

My boyfriend had pants hemmed here and said that he did a fine job. However, I took a jacket in that I needed the buttons replaced on. The tricky part was, the buttons are sewn in under the lining, so the lining needed to be opened in order to replace the buttons. After going back twice to pick it up because the first time we went he had forgotten the buttons on the back of it, I found that the job he did replacing the buttons was AWFUL. Not only did he not even open the lining as I specifically asked, and as the other buttons were done, but instead sewed straight through the lining, there was thread everywhere, the buttons spin all over the place and aren’t on straight, and the very obvious logo on the buttons is upside down, but only on ¾ of the buttons, so you couldn’t even pretend they’re all supposed to go that way.
It took a week to do, which was fine, but now I have to wear the coat to an event tomorrow and have no time to get the buttons redone correctly, so I’m just going to look like a fool until I can have it done right, and the lining of the jacket is now damaged.

my dude mr lee is trill. old as fuck, but trill. he specializes in bespoke suits (which i haven’t gotten yet) but he’s about as up front as a tailor can be. i dropped some pieces off to have let in, tapered, and shortened.
he took one side-​eyed look at me, then said «ok, you pick up in 3 days.» i was like uhh, don’t you want to take measurements?
«no.»
came back in 3 days, and my shit magically turned into clothing that fit me in all the right places. my favorite hoodie, shirts, pants, etc all looked fucking great. he even managed to have my pants make my dick look bigger. no idea how he did it. i assume some sort of hong kong black magic. either way i’m sold on him.
i even brought some selvedge denim to him for a chainstitched hem and slight taper. he told me he couldn’t do it given the weight of the jeans and the fact that he doesn’t have a machine that chainstitches. i appreciate that type of honesty rather than come back to a tattered ass pair of jeans that have fucked up hems.
if you live in the valley, there’s no better tailors in the area. trust me, i’ve looked around for 10+ years.

I’ve been coming to Lee’s Custom Tailoring for the past year-​and-​half for alterations, custom shirts, and custom suits. Mr. Lee’s attention to detail is impeccable, his prices are extremely reasonable, and he only uses the absolute best materials available.
Some background: Mr. Lee is 79 years old. He’s been at his current location in Reseda for the past 28 years. Before that, he had a shop in Hong Kong for 30 years (where he made suits for Frank Sinatra).
He is awesome.

Got 2 shirts custom made to order came out great and reasonable price. Also took several slacks to get hemmed and he did a great job. Good pricing, owner is funny and will work with you to get what you want…
