Emma Elizabeth Events is a full-​service event planning company that specializes in designing, planning and coordinating personalized events in the Northern Virginia area. Our focus is customized services for each client. We will create a plan that meets your specific objectives, budget, and timeline from design through implementation for your wedding, corporate party or other life event. We want your occasion to be unique and will work closely with you to ensure that your vision is fully realized. Our focus is for you to enjoy your event as a guest and to leave the details, planning and stress to us.

History

Established in 2010.

While Emma Elizabeth Events was established in 2010, Joan (owner) has spent the past decade planning and coordinating events, large and small, as a volunteer and member of a large church staff. As a volunteer, she has coordinated fundraising events that raised record returns and celebration events for over 500 people in addition to large scale events at local schools. Designing and coordinating children’s events for a large church allowed her to use her creativity to develop fun and original events for groups of all sizes. For a period of time, Joan created original Baptism dresses from wedding gowns and functioned as a Wedding Coordinator at her church. Weddings have long been her secret passion.

Business Owner

Joan Lynch, a Virginian by marriage, was raised in Pennsylvania with a large extended family. Her fondest memories are the gatherings, large and small, where her grandmothers (Emma and Elizabeth) and her mother (another Elizabeth) were at the center. These women taught her the importance of taking care of the small details to make guests feel welcome and uniquely special. Joan inherited their gift of hospitality and their «attention to detail» which she lovingly combined to form Emma Elizabeth Events in 2010.

Joan has lived in northern Virginia for over 20 years and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Marketing and Management from Philadelphia University as well as a Masters of Education degree from George Mason University.
