This place is not very good. I ordered Mongolian beef and it was almost entirely veggies and the beef that I did get was not even good. I would rather just go to a different Chinese take out. Also there basically no seating.

Absolutely horrible customer service. They are rude and impossible. They got my order wrong. When I called to discuss it I got yelled at and she argued with me and when they came back to fix the order they still didn’t get it correct. They forgot an entire lunch and brought it back hours later. They gave me the wrong rice with my lunch and didn’t tell me the only had one type of soda available for all 4 of the lunch entrees, the type none of us like. When they brought the sodas back with the rest of the order, again hours later, they only brought two sodas. I was truly disgusted with the horrible customer service I received and I will never order from them again. One rificulously bad experience ruined it for me at this restaurant.

My favorite local Chinese restaurant. It’s close to my work so we order their lunch specials for delivery time to time. Although their menu price on Unilocal isn’t up to date, you will see the price went up just a bit but not much of a difference. Overall their lunch special is super affordable. Good amount of portion for entrée plus an egg roll. I am allergic to seafood so I am not sure how their seafood entrees are, but my favorites are Mongolian beef, sweet and sour and beef and broccoli! Veggies are fresh and this is the only place that doesn’t make me feel yucky after eating local Chinese

We order from here pretty frequently, but after reviewing the recent food inspection report, I will definitely think twice. I’ve never been in the restaurant, but the inspection makes it sound filthy.

So bad, it’s just funny. The soup noodles were stale. The stale that ends up being chewy when it’s supposed to be crunchy. My chicken dish had more deep fried tofu to look like those Chinese chicken pieces than actual chicken; and no the dish is not suppose to have tofu. For the folks who give this 5 stars, I wonder what you eat everyday. Mine went in the garbage and I was more satisfied with a PB&J

I have been coming to great china, both at their reston and leesburg location for 7 years now. I dont know about these previous negative reviews but their service has remained consistent this ENTIRE time. Their sesame chicken is THEBEST in Loudoun County. I know because I tried about a million different places in and around sterling and ashburn when I moved out of delivery range and nothing compares. The chicken has extra crispy breading and the sauce is wonderful, they also make sure to add a ton of sesame seeds for the added texture. Your order comes with fried rice but I always get mine with instead. The décor inside? Unchanged. Im sitting in here right now and it is virtually identical to the first time I came here. Being served for here as opposed to to go? They have ALWAYS used disposable dishware. Theyre a family owned chinese food restaurant that specializes in delivery. You want a sit down experience? Go to falls church to find a more formal quality Chinese restaurant dine in experience. Name another delivery restaurant that gives you, for 8.25 a large portion(picture attached) of chicken, with rice and egg roll and a soda that is actually good quality. Because I dont know one. And when you order sesame chicken or general tsos to go or for delivery? It comes in this super awesome plastic container thats dishwasher safe and reusable… Ive used them to pack lunches. For what the restaurant is, it is very good and I plan to continue coming back for more.

Un-great China. I just got back from lunch here. UGH. So I ordered the General Tso’s chicken with white rice, remembering that their fried rice wasn’t really worth my time, nor calories. Also, I asked for the shrimp spring roll as opposed to the egg roll. In less than 10 minutes, I had my food. There were 2 big heaps of brown rice on the plate. I said, «Ma’am, I wanted white rice, remember?» She took it back and gave me white rice. Buuuuuuut, all she did was push a majority of the brown rice off the plate and throw 2 scoops of white rice on there. The brown rice was still there. Not a huge deal, but I just thought that was a little lazy of her. And then the spring roll. HOLYHELLITWASRANCID! I bit into it and it tasted like sewer water(I mean, I’ve never imbibed in sewer water, but I’m gonna guess this was just as bad.) So I bought it to the attention of the woman at the counter and she didn’t care. I suggested, «Well, it may be that the shrimp is rotten or something may have gone bad.» Nope. No concern. Didn’t offer to replace mine that I took just one bite of. Nope. So I’m gonna have to knock this place down 2 stars. And never return.

The food is okay, consistently. It’s not amazing or stupendous, or the most incredible Chinese food you’ve ever sunk your fork, but, if you’re looking for consistent all-around okay chinese food you can do much worse. My personal favorite is the garlic broccoli dish, it IS spicy, with pepper, but it tastes really great. The lo-mein noodles are very ordinary. I would only recommend take-out. The actual place needs some cleaning, re-painting and some overall updating. The photos of their food need an overhaul too! Those photos look so ancient, as though they were taken wayyyyyyyyy back in 1969! If you’re trying to whet your customers’ appetites those photos ain’t cuttin’ it! Sorry Charlie!!! I’ve been here probably ten times now and the staff is always friendly. It’s always the same lady, she’s very sweet, you can tell she’s thankful I am a customer. You also get to munch on free fried noodles and sugar while you wait. Watch it. That stuff is addictive!

Overcooked vegetables, «fried» rice with nothing but rice and soy sauce, and found a strand of hair in my food. Many folks in the kitchen seemed to not be wearing hair net. The owner’s extended family freely moves in and out of the kitchen without hairnets. What do you expect?

The fried rice was not that good at all. The sauce for the Hunan chicken was overly sweet and that’s about it. The sesame chicken was actually really good and fresh, but that doesn’t really compensate for the rest of the meal. We had to wait a while to order, but the staff was nice.

My fiancé and I love this place! The general tsoa’s chicken is all white meat and crispy. The sauce is great as well! The lo mein is yummy and fresh tasting. The garlic broccoli is spicy and the veggies have a good crisp. The food is priced right and they delivery quickly.

I love them, especially the staff. The older woman who runs the register is so nice to me! Probably because I come through twice a week. I don’t think I’ve ordered any glazed or battered dishes before(aren’t they always incredibly sweet?) but I enjoy the steamed tofu with mixed veggies and brown rice. I also like the eggplant with garlic sauce. If I’m feeling famished, I’ll get an order of egg roll and indulge in both. So good.

My family and I have been ordering take-out from this place for at least 5 years. While this family-run business may look like every other Chinese restaurant, it’s not. The kung pao chicken, teriyaki beef, hot and sour soup, and many other dishes remain family favorites. The food is delicious, as well as consistent. The owners are extremely nice, willing to accommodate us with any and every issue we have. This place is the best, and I hope it never closes. P. S. I recommend mixing some of the hot chili oil into the hot and sour soup.

The worst Peking duck I’ve ever had. I ordered half a Peking duck at $ 13.95 and felt like I was over charged. It must have been a very small duck. It was also cold, dry, burnt, overlooked and the skin was especially soggy. It wasn’t even cut into slices. It looked more like pulled pork. I felt like I was eating someones leftovers. I also ordered hot and sour soup which tasted over salted and luke warm. The food arrive in a lil over an hour which seemed like an eternity in Chinese food delivery standards. My first time experience here was terrible and I will never order from here again.

While I would normally rate it higher for the food, I was disappointed in the delivery service I received. After tipping an older driver(who looked to be an owner), he complained very expressively that I hadn’t tipped him enough. Then when paying cash, he claimed not to have any change so as to keep more money in response to the tip. Needless to say, it was rude and I won’t be ordering there anymore. Additionally, when I opened my lo mein dish, the noodles were sitting on a thick iceberg lettuce wedge – so the amount was much less than the container(this is the first time I have seen this).

I didn’t expect much of this place based on the(dated) Unilocal reviews. I was pleasantly surprised though when, after living down the street for several months, I placed my first order here. I got my usual General Tso’s Chicken and was shocked to see it wasn’t the usual«battered» to a disgusting appearance concoction that most Chinese food places serve. Was it battered? Yes, but it was nice and smooth and I was able to see that there weren’t pockets of skin/fat surrounding my chicken. I used to order from Golden King in Sterling due to the reviews but after having Great China, I’ll stick to what’s closer to home. It’s a solid choice for classic American Chinese food.

As a transplant from NYC in early 2010, finding delicious(read: fast & greasy) Chinese delivery was a priority following my relocation to Reston. Great China is about as good as it gets in this area. Although sometimes inconsistent, the food always reminds me of the delicious takeout/delivery places I ordered from while living in Queens & Manhattan. Bonus: their food containers are the sturdy tupperware type; I have a very robust collection of them… is that wrong?!

Pros: Big portions, they have sushi(I don’t eat seafood though), nice interior, treats while you wait! Cons: shrimp in the eggrolls! ew(^ don’t like seafood), a bit pricey Overall: Good, friendly, fast, clean(more like 3.25 –3.45 stars) After speaking with Michelle L about my review on Mandarin this morning, I was inspired to break my diet and eat some more Chinese food. Great China Chinese & Sushi Restaurant just opened up in North Point and I was a bit weary of it at first. I saw the nice hardwood floors, and that they had sushi, and their prices were high for Chinese food and thought: This can’t be good. But it’s actually not bad at all! The price is justified by the huge portion of General Tso’s chicken I got(pics to be attached). However, the fried rice is just some white rice fried in brown soy sauce — nothing exciting at all. The egg roll is your standard crappy, huge, overcompensating Chinese eggroll that has two little shrimp in it. And that could be cool, but I don’t like seafood.(Yes, and I’m asian. Yes, I also made an «overcompensating» joke — I can do this because I am asian! Though I can’t say I know about it firsthand… errr…nevermind…back to food!) Another thing about the Tso’s is that it comes in plentiful, smaller, more manageable chunks. I think I recall Mandarin having huge chunks that I had to cut down. OOooohhhh, also, a huge plus in my book: they’ve got these little wonton chips at the front register while you wait for your food. They’re sprinkled with some sugar and highly addictive. Pics to follow…
