Lemus Moving

Such an upset!
I went with Lemus as my moving company about a year ago and was pleased so I thought I’d use them on this go-​round and in the interim I also referred them to friends that gave them business also.
Well, this time was a completely different experience. None of the same men did the job and perhaps that’s a contributing factor but…
1) My moving estimate was $ 200 off target when the first time I moved it was correct (you submit an inventory list and move location for a reason…)
2. My furniture was damaged and not well cared for by the movers which was documented.
3. The move time was inflated by half an hour, something I brought to the attention of the company owner and he said he would fix with my credit card information however did not.
4. I spent significant time on the phone with Anthony, the rep and then the owner to no avail of compensation. In fact the response to my damage was «the movers say was already like that»
Be warned…
Ps: It says this nowhere on their website to-​date, but don’t expect to be getting any of your plants moved either. Apparently they are not allowed to bring any plants on their truck. A nice surprise for someone moving out of town…

Moved this weekend – my 30^th move – and this was the best team of movers I’ve used to date! The quote for the number of hours was spot on. The movers were hard workers and extremely careful with everything. Courteous as well.

The movers did a great job. They showed earlier than the scheduled time and moved fast. The staff was polite and efficient. I would highly recommend this company. They made this new change extremely smooth and unstressful.

Caution: Anthony quoted me an hourly rate, once I gave my credit card he told me I had to list everything I wanted moved… why if I’m paying hourly? Well, some pieces cost more to move!!! Why an hourly rate than? It’s either hourly or it’s not. Scam, all movers are shady but this guy is extra shady he even sounds shady.

We used Lemus for a long distance move from Somerville, MA to Florida. After getting multiple quotes, we chose Lemus. They gave us a flat rate and would load our stuff on one truck and it would be delivered in FL in 2 – 3 days. That was ideal since we didn’t want multiple transfers and they provided a concrete time frame for delivery.
However, there were a few hiccups. First, we were assured that they could get all of our things on the truck. Well, they didn’t. We had to leave behind a couple of area rugs, $ 200 worth of flower pots, a CD cabinet, and some lamps. So, that did not make us very happy. Second, we wanted to pay the balance with a credit card when they arrived in FL. I was told that would not be a problem if we paid 60% up front. Well, when they left our house in Somerville, we had to pay the remaining balance. Needless to say, I was surprised but at that point my hands were tied since all (almost all) our belongings were loaded on the truck.
Overall, I wanted to use a small, local company because I wanted to support locally instead of using a national chain. But, had I known then what I know now, I would use a larger company with more experience.
As an aside, the guys that delivered our stuff in Florida were great. Very nice and worked their tails off.

This was my first experience with movers (being a do-​it-​myself kind of person usually), and this was the best money I’ve ever spent.
The movers showed up on time, were incredibly pleasant, and worked quickly. Much of my move from Dorchester to the North Shore was traumatic — but the part that was incredibly easy was dealing with Lemus Moving. I’m usually wary of going with the cheapest option, but the reviews were good… and they were right. I will definitely use them again.

My boyfriend and I were doing a long-​distance move from New Haven to Boston, and we wanted a one-​day, one-​truck trip. We looked everywhere for quotes and Lemus gave us a flat rate that was BEYOND reasonable, by far the best price we got. To be honest, since there wasn’t much info about them on Unilocal and BBB, I was a little nervous about whether it would be a good experience — but it was GREAT! The movers showed up early, and they were polite, efficient and careful. Our things got to Boston safely and quickly, and nothing was damaged! Overall we had a superb experience an would use these guys again in a heartbeat. Absolutely recommended!

On time, worked non-​stop, courteous, great price.
