I love the free coffee, water, wifi and cellphone charging stations. They are fast, but If I need any longer services the office is great.
Staff are friendly. And now the shop offers State Inspections, tires and any repair service. Thank you guys!

I only went for a Virginia inspection sticker, so I can’t give a thorough review. But I have to say I was very impressed by everything about this garage. Everyone who works there has a great sense of humor and is incredibly friendly. I also saw several things that I thought were terrific signs.
They squeezed me in for an inspection at an odd hour, which I really appreciated. They were the only garage around willing to do so. They immediately made me comfortable as I waited, offered me refreshments, and even gave me the remote control to the TV in the lobby.
As I waited for my car, another gentleman was getting his car inspected. The mechanic actually brought out the air filter and showed it to him, explaining that he needed a new one. I have never had a garage actually show me the old filter. You usually have to just take their word for it. Then someone else was told they needed some new wipers. When they asked if it was necessary to pass the inspection, the mechanic was honest. He said no, but it would be a good idea to replace them. It’s little things like this that build trust in the garage.
I have many experiences at many garages, and honestly like this is not usually forthcoming. I will definitely do business here in the future.

Don’t go there for a state inspection! My brake pads and rotors needed replaced which apparently was a $ 350 fee, which when I went to my regular automotive guy and he did the work, he said I was getting ripped off if I had gotten the repairs done there. Further, they failed my year old tires only on the right side of my car which look the same as the tires that passed on the left side. Then they failed my wiper blades which were only a week old. My experience was frustrating and more trouble than it was worth and as a result I will never go back there for anything.

This was a positive experience at gease monkey and this is usually not the case. I had good experiences with the shop on Boulevard but it has closed so we tried a different one. They of course came out to everyone with their air filter to get them to replace it and one lady actually fell for it. My filter was white and clean but they still suggested I get a new one. Then they recommended a octane Booster which is unneeded. However when I told him I would change the filter myself there was no pressure which was a surprise. But they did a good job so overall it wasn’t a bad experience.

I really wish there was a no star option because this place does not deserve a star at all! I went to the staples mill location to have my vehicle inspected and I left it there as I had an appointment and couldn’t stick around. I dropped it off around 9:30am then received a call around 2pm with the safety inspector telling me I needed a repair for around $ 700. Now– you’ll have to take into consideration that I was having a BMW inspected and I also have a Benz that was present at the time of drop off because of course I needed a 2^nd driver to be able to leave the car there. When people with no business ethics and zero integrity see people with nice cars, they automatically assume they have money, so of course they tried to squeeze $ 700 out of me, instead of $ 16 which would have been the price for inspection. I also need to point out that I recently moved from NY to VA and in New York the car recently had a safety and emissions inspection without any issues. The car wasn’t even driven more than 20 miles since that inspection as I had the car towed here on a lift. All of a sudden, I bring the car to their shop and they find something wrong with the car? Ok– so you think that’s it. it’s not. The safety inspector removed my NY safety sticker and my NYS registration sticker which is placed on the windshield. The inspection from NY was perfectly valid and the registration is still valid and won’t expire until 2016. When I asked for it back, the safety inspector told me to dig in the garbage for it and that it’s in several pieces. So disrespectful! Maybe the policy is to remove the safety inspection, they had no right to remove my registration and discard it especially because I still have NY plates on the car. Complete craziness! This place is so unprofessional and I was really shocked that people treat customers this way. The worse part is yet to come– the safety mechanic pulled a piece of my car and then verbally told me that’s the reason it wouldn’t pass inspection. It’s was a coil spring– so of course I need that in order to go to another place to have it fixed. Please– save your money. These people are crooks and try to take advantage of their customers. I think for small jobs, they probably do okay work, but when they see opportunity they totally take advantage and that’s completely unethical and so disappointing that people stay in business with these types of practices. There are much better places to go to. I’m sorry I had to learn this the hard way.

Could not ask for a better place to get an oil change. A real solid team of people working in the garage. Everyone is hustling, my oil change took only 10 minutes once they had it in. I dealt with a woman named christie who was very nice and seemed to have the whole shop working smoothly.
This was also the first time I have had my oil changed without being told about a bunch of random problems they can take care of.

I was looking for a place to give me a quick last minute oil change, and grease monkey popped up as the closest on my gps. The staff was really great, they got me in and out in about 20 minutes and the bonus… I was able to use a corporate discount too.

I’ve been a customer for as long as they have been in business. I’ve never had a bad experience and appreciate all the things the owners do to make what little wait one has enjoyable. The place is clean, the beverages are a nice touch, the service is efficient and the staff is pleasant and helpful. Much better than the hassle of making an appointment at a dealership and having them try to make a hard sell on more costly repairs.

PLEASE READ — DO NOT GO HERE!
I see some nice post for G.M. one from ⁴⁄₁₃; it is quite obvious their quality has gone down hill… It’s long but worth reading, show how they do business:
My wife got here oil changed at Grease Monkey in January of this year and several months later (6) went to Mr. Transmission in Ashland (WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!) for an oil change. Their technician drained the oil and when he went to remove the filter, he couldn’t remove it due to Grease Monkey over tightening the filter. The filter was so tight that Mr. Transmission’s tech was afraid to wrench on it any harder in fear of breaking ether the filter or the filter retaining clip. They kindly refilled the oil that they had drained and called me immediately.
I went to Mr. T being I work right down the St. to inspect in person how tight the filter was — tight isn’t even the word. Oil filters are to be installed hand tight and about ¹⁄₃^rd of a turn; this was installed with a filter tool and was as tight as you could get it. I called G.M. and asked them to replace the filter that they had installed too tight which would also require them to change the oil — honor their work — which the very nice receptionist told us to come in any time the next day they would be expect us… GREAT! When my wife arrived at G.M. the next day, she called me while I was at work and said that they were going to charge her FULL PRICE for an oil change!!! I asked my wife to hand the phone to the receptionist who was not the same one from the day before (turns out it was the owners wife). She stated that because it had been 7 months they could not warranty their work that many things could have happened — understandable to a point. She then proceeded to explain how oil filters can tighten over time and lecture me regarding maintenance *NOTE: My degree is in Aerospace Engineering and I am a licensed Aircraft Technician — I have disassembled, rebuilt, repaired and designed a number of aircraft and systems, needless to say I know more about maintenance than your run of the mill Grease Monkey car mechanic* I explained my qualifications and also how Mr. T had also inspected it and that the time had nothing to do with it, it was directly contributed to poor maintenance — she argued the point, of course.
Finally after many minutes of us debating politely (really I didn’t loose it), she offered a discount… really? They expected me to pay for something they messed up and a discount is what they offer forcing me to pay — which is why I was there, not to pay but to have them remove the filter w/​o breaking it or the clip. I finally got so mad that I asked my wife (who doesn’t have a mean bone in her body) to pay them and leave.
An hour later my wife shows up at my work, hands me their invoice AND the oil filter retaining clip that they BROKE and just handed her. They said that it was already broken and that the Mr. T had done it because they didn’t have a special tool which was B.S. that is why I brought it them to begin because i KNEW it would break!!! At this point I am furious, I drove to Mr. T and showed them the invoice and G.M. blaming them; The owner and director of maintenance just shook their heads. I called G.M. back just to let them know that I was standing at Mr. T’s with the the «special filter removal tool» (which it’s not) literally IN MY HAND and that they had bad business ethics and blaming others for their mistakes is ridiculous.
They didn’t care, they didn’t try to fix anything — These people don’t care about return business only pushing individuals through like cattle rather than building a lasting relationship with CUSTOMERS (that would be those who return due to good business ethics and being treated fairly).

Extremely friendly people, quick at servicing vehicle for those on break or lunch. Offers free beverages, including bottled water. They are also a dog friendly business, which as a dog owner I greatly appreciate! It was a little out of our way, but worth the detour.

Grease Monkey is pretty good at being a quick, limited service auto shop. They will change your oil and do minor maintenance on your car, such as tire rotation, belt replacement, fluid flushes, and wiper blade replacement, all in less than an hour. Overall, a decent experience.

I was weighing some of my options on where to get my Oil Changed: Tuffys, Jiffy Lube, Pep Boys, etc then I finally decided on Grease Monkey b/​c it was close to the Target I was shopping at.
The rep at the front of the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the entire process and made sure to ask ME questions so she knew what exactly I wanted and what my budget was. I was planning on getting just a simple oil change but the rep (Jessie) informed me that their oil changes here come with: tire rotations, fluid checks, vacuum/​window clean, air tire check, etc. I was immediately sold b/​c I was going to inflate the air in my tires on my own and clean the car myself; why not get everything done all in one place!
She suggested that I get my air filter replaced too because it was dirty/​slightly clogged and recommended that I get the upgrade to the high mileage oil change b/​c I had over 130,000 miles on my car. I agreed and it sounded like the right option. Everything she mentioned that would be performed on my car came to a total of like $ 65 dollars which I think was reasonably priced.
It took about 45 minutes to get this all completed. Although I think the last 15 mins I was standing around for no reason because they actually never told me my vehicle was finished. BUT, they were busy so maybe I’ll cut them a little slack. I’ll most likely come back here if i need any future repairs/​maintenance on my vehicle.

Great customer service, very friendly, very courteous, and fast. I needed to use the rest room while I was there and wondered what I would run into. Well, it was extremely clean, smelled nice, and was even nicely decorated! While I waited they had all the kind of magazines I enjoy like Southern Living, Traditional Home, etc. I even enjoyed watching a bit of the travel channel while I was there my short visit. Time flew by and I was in and out in no time!

Fast and courteous. In and out in under 40 minutes. I always try to get in first to speed things up. Tv in lobby, along with bottled water, a Keurig coffee machine, play things for small kids. Last time there was free Wi-​Fi but this visit I didn’t see any signs about it. My only complaint is the first 10 minutes inside. Someone could surely say hello between phone calls, right?

We went for a quick, decently-​priced oil change with excellent customer service! I was very pleased with how quickly the team worked. The prices were reasonable and the manager explained things to us very clearly. He talked to us about standard vs. synthetic oil. The place had a steady flow of customers but we were in and out in no time. There was a flat screen TV, coffee, and bottled water available. There are magazines and an art easel for the wee ones. We will be back again.
