I used to enjoy coming here… It had great food but now its kinda trash. Ordered chicken tenders that were basic with no flavor and smothered fries that were supposed to have sirloin steak strips on top which were no where to be found/not there at all… The fries were soggy and mushy. Overall a piss poor experience. Only saving grace is that there are about 76 TVs and the waitress was nice I guess. But nonetheless I will not be going back.

Man. Lemme say I’m from ROCHESTER New York and this place has better wings than half the places there. BOOM best wings in Richmond by far.

We make it s point to stop here every time we are in town for the NASCAR races. It’s a great breakfast joint. It has been awhile since we were here at lunch time. The appearance is a bit dated, but I promise the food is delicious. The staff is very attentive. If you stop for breakfast, the thick cut rye toast goes great with the omelettes.

This is one of the better divey sports bars, if there is a big game on expect there to be a crowd. They usually have a good selection of beer, great service, I have never eaten here so I can only talk about the beer and ambieance. Both have been fine and I can guarantee that I will be back

First time to this establishment. We went in at about 3pm, were greeted, sat at the bar, ordered a couple of beers and food. We were not sure how the food would come out and to our surprise, the food was outstanding! We ordered wings and onion rings… above average for wings and outstanding for O-rings. Gyro was superb, as the sauce was the bomb, just like in Chicago where most of this meat actually comes from. We will be back again the next time I have an appointment at the Richmond VA Hospital.

Do you want more than a pour of a craft beer before the keg kicks and isn’t replaced? Do you want more than a slice of the avocado advertised on that sandwich description? bNo? This run-of-the-mill sports bar is for you. 2 stars bc they play a lot of soccer matches

This used to be one of my favorite breakfast places to watch Premier League but after coming there this morning and getting served a cold breakfast, I will not be back. It’s too bad this place has a lot of potential but if the cook doesn’t realize that people don’t want cold food for breakfast then you lose my business.

This place used to be good, just caught them watering down shots of fireball. This place use to take care of you now they don’t. Such a shame really that this place has fallen so low. I even have video of the water down shot. I bought this place thousands of dollars through out the years and this is the second time this year they have let us down. You have lost a long time customer and those that continue to go be warned the liquor is water down. The other time my friends wings were not done and upon him telling the staff they argued with him about it instead of refunding them. This isn’t the same Gus’s that was once was. I gave them a second chance and they failed again. Such a sad time for this once great place

Per a friends recommendation we tried Gus’s for Sunday brunch. When walking in it was a slow show, never a good sign for Sunday brunch. The wait staff was very slow, we had to call her over a few times to order and for our check. The food was decent but sausage was dry and overall nothing special. For brunch try somewhere else unless you are in the mood to watch football and eat bar food.

So here’s the deal… Gus’ sponsors River City Sports and Social Club. Every time I go there I have a good time. The food is ok. I had the Broad Street Bully(a steak and cheese), which was too much dry bread to meat ratio. The hot wings were slightly better than average. Per the waitress’ recommendation, I tried the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, which I liked. I really like bleu cheese and that flavor really came through, but I wish it was spicer(more buffalo sauce). Still it was unique and enjoyable. The service can be so slow. Sometimes when I go I feel like things are improving, but sometimes it gets frustrating. Everyone is really nice. Maybe just not enough servers? It isn’t a very big place. The other problem? The TVs are so small. Like real small. Maybe 20 inches. The need to step up the tv situation. However, in Richmond, Gus’ beats Home Team Grill as far as food and fun. Hometeam has better tvs, but it is so packed on Sundays you’ll wait forever for a table and be served subpar food by average waitstaff. For me, Gus’ is the winner for Sunday football.

Meet Frank the Tanks little brother, Gus the Bus. Just made that up and it has no relevance to my review truly. Thank you for continuing to read. GREAT sports bar. I try to only give out my 5 star reviews sparingly, but in the sports bar category, this place rocks. Good atmosphere, tons of TVs and copious amounts of alcohol. However, the real win here is the food. I saw feta on tons of items which sold me. And it’s not crumbly crap feta you get in the grocery store. It’s legit chunks of feta. I’m willing to go straight to the bedroom on a first date when feta is involved. Freaky for feta is my tinder profile. I got the lamb burger sub tots. The tzatziki was truly out of this world. I got extra and it really went from a 8 to a 10 when I could individually coat each bite. Bartender told me all of the food is good and something the owner feels strongly about. I’ll be back when in RVA.

The wait staff is awful. Have had multiple and they get zero training, don’t know the menu, slow, ugh… Poor tvs for a sports bar. Ok bar food. Limited beet selection. Thank goodness there are other better options nearby.

So Gus’s Bar and Grill is one of the official meet up spots for the RCSSC(all sports). It’s very rowdy here around dinner time, especially after the games(win or lose). We come every now and then after our games because they have a special going on the bud light if you want a pitcher or something. This place kind of has dingy/dark bar kind of feel to it. On my last visit, we got two pizzas to share between three guys. A hawaiian style pizza and a bacon pizza. These are marked as «hand» tossed pizza but I highly doubt that especially for a bar place like this, but it could be true! Who knows. The pizza was actually pretty good and was braces friendly(haha); the crust/dough wasn’t too chewy and cooked perfectly and was similar to a pan style pizza but not too thick. The sauce and toppings were all pretty tasty as well. It’s about $ 10 for a pizza(one size) and it’s about 10 inches or so and were we able to able to finish it all and even hand off a couple pieces to our other team members. I LOVE cheese so I asked for another thing of grated Parmesan cheese and our waitress was happy to oblige and i used about 75% of it on my own and it was almost full… Bathrooms are okay/standard for a bar and the service was good; they brought out extra plates and filled waters/drinks quickly. I would give it four stars, but knocking it down one star because parking is only street parking or you have to park across the street at the Children’s Museum to get over.

I have only really ever eaten about three different things here, as I absolutely love their buffalo chicken sandwich. It’s a stable in my diet, and one of the best around(trust me I usually get them anywhere I go). It’s the perfect amount of sauces, a good patty to bun ratio, and I love the price! I also once got a gyro I believe, and liked that as well. Outside of the food, Guses has a ton of tvs for game day, great beer specials(not the best selection ever) and can accommodate larger crowds. They also do fun things like the World Cup viewing with specials(Go Germany!) and host karaōke every week. Definitely a sports bar, which brings in an older, more masculine demographic. But you can’t beat the location(in proximity to where I live) and their buffalo chicken is grade A.

I really enjoy stopping by here for a drink every once in awhile. Everyone is always nice and quick with service. There are a lot of TVs and drinks on tap. The food is ok, I haven’t had much from the menu but it is fun to sit and watch the game while here. I will come back soon. I recommend parking across the street.

Great staff that can secondary large crowds. We come here after our kickball games. Large menu and food is good portioned and tastes good. Typical diner/bar type food. TV’s all over and very large so you can see the football games. Good price for what you pay. Definitely will come here more often to watch some football.

I came here with a friend for an early dinner before catching a show at The Broadberry next door. They had a great beer selection and it was actually a really charming place! If we lived in the area we would definitely come here to catch Football games! They had TVs all over the place. The staff was great too! Even at 5:30 on a off season Sunday the staff was friendly and attentive. Our food was very good. We had cheese sticks for an appetizer, they weren’t anything mind blowing, but they were good. I had the Gyro for my meal. The fries were delicious! I was so impressed! The gyro was actually better than some that I have had at Greek restaurants! We also got a ton of food for the price.

Gus’ became our go-to spot for football Sundays. We actually haven’t tried anywhere else because we always wanted to just go back to Gus’. Tad, the manager, greets everyone at the door and seats people based on what team they want to watch, which is awesome. They show pretty much every game so chances are you’ll get a good view of what you want to watch. My husband(Browns) and I(Ravens) like to get there early and Tad even sets us up so our games are next to each other. Food is good, nothing stellar, but good for bar food. I like their sliders and onion rings, and we had brunch here too once which was decent. Beer prices are decent as well. Now if only the Ravens and/or Browns made the playoffs, we’d be frequenting Gus’ again soon…

I went to Gus’ Bar and Grill for a VCU alumni basketball watch party(VCU vs. Temple). Gus’ has a lot of televisions throughout the sports bar. There’s one big projector screen and a lot of flat screen televisions. Gus’ Bar and Grill doesn’t have many booths(the booths are equipped with personal televisions). If you want a booth, its best to come early. The sports bar is not very bright(dim inside).I was hungry so I ordered teriyaki boneless wings. The boneless wings were average at best. The wings came with celery and a side of dressing(bleu cheese or ranch). I sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Gus’ Bar and Grill is located on Broad Street, so the parking is hit or miss. Gus’ Bar and Grill is a solid choice for watching sports games. I give Gus’ Bar and Grill a 2.5 rating rounded up to a 3 «A-Ok».
