Specialties
Bookbinders serves the freshest seafood and finest steaks. Our chef creates nightly specials and our desserts are heavenly. We are a fine dining restaurant with exceptional service, a wine list of over 200 wines and an atmosphere of brick, beautiful wood panels, exposed beams and tall glass windows. Warm weather allows for patio dining in our private courtyard, complete with waterfalls. Located in historic Tobacco Row/James River area, there is free parking right across the street. We also have private rooms for parties and special occasions.
History
Established in 2000.
The famous Bookbinder’s Restaurant in Philadelphia was opened in 1865 and operated until 2009. It was visited by many «rich and famous,» from politicians to movie stars. In 2000, the Taxin family opened the Old Original Bookbinder’s Restaurant in Richmond, Virginia; located in an historic Shockoe Bottom tobacco building. We still serve the world-famous Snapper Soup and offer live lobsters. Bookbinder’s is known for our crab cakes, fresh seafoods and prime steaks. Our service, selection and quality continue the Bookbinder’s tradition.
