Got really really sick off the food I ordered here. Not sure what happened… Also the second time i ordered from here the service was very slow and the driver very rude when I went outside to meet him. He started to give me order to someone else without even checking. When I said something I got a look… Noooo way

Ok, so I made my first order with them today through EatStreet, and the final order page said that it would take 30 – 45 minutes to deliver my food. After an hour had passed, I wondered what was going on. Because EatStreet answer to any problem is ‘call the restaurant’, I called the restaurant and was put on hold for 5 minutes, long enough to hear pots banging and people screaming at each other across a busy kitchen. When a lady finally answered the phone again, she yelled at me that my food has been prepared and they are sending someone… after 1 hour and 10 minutes since the time I made my order. No sorry for the long wait or anything. I don’t care how great the food is, I’m not ordering from this place again.

This place appears to be the only Chinese delivery that delivers to my neighborhood(Manchester). I always order here through Unilocal and the process is always smooth. For delivery Chinese food, this is right on par with the typical. It delivers(pun intended). I only wish they would include chop sticks even though I’ve requested them every time.

I ordered chinese from here tonight and it was so so at best. The speed of the delivery was average to a little speedier, it took about 20 minutes to have it delivered when I ordered at peek dining times. I ordered the Sesame chicken combo meal which was good and decent portion size. I also ordered the Mongolian Beef, which was sub par at best. The flavor was good, however the entrée itself was mostly vegetables(onions to be exact). I would say that I would order again if I was really craving chinese and needed delivery but other than that I would rather drive and go get something. At best its a quick fix chinese food place if you want delivery and don’t have many options.

They’re good. It’s not the best Chinese I’ve had, but it’s good. I like East Villa in Shockoe Bottom better or China Wok in Mechanicsville. With that being said, this is the best place that DELIVERS to the Shockoe Bottom area. Online ordering = added bonus. So if I’m too lazy to go out and get Chinese, I turn to Wan Jing Lou. Other pros: The food is delivered hot. My order has never been messed up. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. The portion sizes are big and cheap.

If you’re ordering delivery, call 45 minutes to 1 hour in advance. Even on a weeknight. Otherwise, service was courteous and they delivered to my place in Manchester. The fried rice is not my favorite, it’s yellow and there’s not a lot of stuff in it. I’ve also had better chop suey. No good duck sauce either! My favorite dish is the Singapore noodles. Really it’s 3 star food but why the 4th star? Because you can order online with a credit card and they’ll get everything right and that counts for a lot!

Last night we ordered two general tso’s chicken and sesame chicken orders. Unfortunately east villa had already closed. The sesame chicken dish was fine. There were pieces of chicken in both of the orders of general tso’s that tasted rancid and like fish. We couldn’t finish it. My stomach cramped afterwards and today as well. Never ordering food here again. Not worth the risk.

If you are looking to wait an hour for Chinese food, this is the place for you! 60 minutes from the time I ordered to the time it was delivered. Punctual?

Delivery took an hour! When we opened our food(chicken chow mein and general tso’s) we realized the chicken chow mein was not… chow mein. There were no noodles present. We called Wan Jing Lou to tell them that we had received a dish that did not have noodles in it, and what we got was some sort of explanation that chow mein was not a noodle dish, but a vegetable! I’m sorry, but every google picture for miles shows chow mein including NOODLES. The dish we received was disgusting. We continued to tell the woman on the phone that we were not happy with what we received and that their menu was misleading if they are giving people chow mein dishes without noodles(mein), and all we ended up getting was a racist comment about how white people always complain. Good luck with your customer service.

Getting food delivered in just … well, doesn’t occur to me. It doesn’t help that I live in Church Hill, where food delivery is very hit or miss anyway. Neither does ordering Chinese food. But here I am, laid up after an illness, and … I’m hungry. I’m also lazy, don’t feel like cooking or nuking something and get crappy cell reception in my condo. So online I go, but what do I want? Or, more to the point, what can I get? My choices are limited. Oh, God, please don’t reduce me to Domino’s … But look. Here is a Chinese place, Wan Jing Lou. Hmm. Chinese is low on my list of go-to cuisines, but every once in a while it hits the spot. The website is designed well and is easy to navigate. I can pay with PayPal, cool! A 30– to 45-minute wait is advised. Eh, no biggie, i know it’s lunchtime, I can wait. Twenty minutes later – DINGDONG! Here is bag of Chinese goodness!(DINGDONG is the sound my doorbell makes, not a slur against my Chinese brethren) I ordered the super lunch special with beef lo mein sided with pork fried rice, an egg roll and a can of soda. Since the delivery minimum is $ 10 I threw in an order of crab rangoon. I opened the bag to take out the food, only to immediately withdraw my hand and say«ow!» Because the food was hot. Read that again – A CHINESEFOODDELIVERYHADHOTFOOD. Encouraged, I bit into a crab rangoon. Mmmm. I took a bite of the egg roll. Mmmm. The beef lo mein? Mmmm. The pork fried rice? See the previous three descriptions. Wan Jing Lou also gives you an ENORMOUS amount of food, making it an excellent deal for the money. Seriously, I’ll get at least three more meals out of what I have. «But you only gave it four stars, Trish,» you say. Indeed I did. While everything was tasty there was nothing spectacular about the food, and you greasephobes might be put off because you will see oil slicks on the wrappers. Also when ordering the super lunch special there is no place on the EatStreet app that allows you to pick what type of soda you want. My meal came with a Pepsi. I’m a Coke girl but I’ll drink Pepsi, it’s just a warning to you super-picky types. It’s awesome that a little hole-in-the-wall Chinese place right down the road from one of Richmond’s most notorious projects offers online ordering AND delivery while none of the hipster places in Church Hill do. Someone at Wang Jin Lu is very, VERY smart.

This is the only chinese i order from when it late and they’re delivery is pretty fast normally. I wouldnt recomend trying anything new though i have had awful experiences with that but if youre in mood for some chinese general tso’s chicken with rice is the way to go. Best they have to offer in my eyes.

This place has an extensive menu. I ordered online and the order was accurately executed and rapidly delivered. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. The food is okay: It isn’t bad, but it isn’t good. It satisfies your hunger.

This is my go to Chinese delivery place. The crab rangoons remind me of what I used to get in Michigan as a child and it just takes me back. The hot and sour soup is really good, but it has pork in it, which is not my fav. The price is right and ordering is easy. I suggest to get the spicy steamed shrimp. Its cheap, delicious and not as bad for you as saucy greasy standys. The steamed dumplings are normally really good but can get a little funky depending on how the kitchen is running at any given time. The delivery is fast and everyone there is really nice. I recommend giving them a shot.

Tasted good… I had the beef + broccoli. Love the online ordering. Not exceptional but decent for the price… the fact that the staff sat behind plexiglass has me questioning if I will go back. Sketched me out…

This is the best Chinese takeout/delivery in RVA. It may be a hole in the wall but it kicks ass. Everything is great although I usually get the house lo mein, but you should definitely try the general tso chicken wings!

About a month ago, I had a craving for Chinese takeout and settled on a new place called Wan Jing Lou. From looking at the menu, it appeared to be the average run of the mill cheap Chinese takeout. How did my experience go? To find out, read below. The Good: Online Ordering– One thing I dread is calling in an order only to be put on hold for 5 – 10 minutes during the restaurants busy time. Well this restaurant has online ordering and is only one of a handful of Chinese takeouts in RVA that has this feature. Price/Portion Size– I have three words for you: Super Lunch Special… How is this significant? With the super lunch special, you can order a dish, soup, egg roll and can soda for under $ 6. The portions of the food are not skimmed like some restaurants do when they offer specials either. Taste of Chicken and Broccoli– I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli and I was thoroughly impressed with the taste given where it came from. The Not So Good: Taste of Fried Rice– The fried rice was very bland and nothing about it stood out. I also factored in that this was not a specialty fried rice where they are known to add egg, onions and scallions for flavor. The Bad: N/A. Overall– The food is decent, prices are very reasonable and they have a Super Lunch Special… Who can argue with that? They lack in quality of food but that should not matter to a frugal person. FOURSTARS.

Fast delivery and good food. Exactly what you would want in a Chinese take out. We get the General Tso’s Chicken lunch combo and crab Rangoon. Both are always delicious and the portions are great. This is my go to Chinese place.

I usually do take-out or pick-up my food from restaurants because I don’t want to wait for delivery and/or I want to make sure food is done correctly. I also save on tip. I went to pick up my food from Wan Jing Lou, and what a location! This restaurant is in a very poor, very blighted area. In the parking lot, there are probably 15 individuals yelling or cursing, arguing, and every profanity is used. Inside the restaurant, I was waiting to pay for my food, and the customer in front of me became agitated because the cashier didn’t take her order quickly because he was focused on taking phone orders, and finally a woman came up and took her order, probably kind of in a curt manner, but they seemed to be busy, and the customer next to her pre-teen daughter says«bit$h» and still pays for the food, and waits for it. Finally, I get to the front and pay for the food, and take it home. I ordered a vegetable lo mein, a vegetable soup, and a bean curd Szechuan style. The vegetable lo mein is tasty, the soup is good(a little salty), and the bean curd is crispy and has a good sauce. The food was good, but the location is poor. I would suggest delivery and avoid the pick-up at this location to avoid the drama. 4 out of 5 stars since I may have difficulty picking up at this location.

There’s nothing special about the food, except that it’s delivered to Church Hill. Church Hill just doesn’t receive a lot of delivery traffic. I enjoy the fact that they offer some hard to find favorites like shrimp toast and crab rangoon. The truth is though that a lot of their food is very, very heavy on the cheap veggies and low on meat. Maybe that’s reflected in their low prices – you really can’t find a cheaper Chinese without being a little concerned about the quality. The quality of the food is good, but again, it’s nothing special. When ordering over the phone you must be very, very clear about what you want, specific to additional sauces or any special requests because they will often forget or bring you the wrong thing, which is just inconvenient. Generous portions though, and leftovers do make for a nice lunch the next day.
