I hate to admit that I was one of those cynical dicks who assumed that any massage-based business that had all the windows and doors totally blocked from prying eyes was doing possibly sketchy things inside. But there is a special joy in admitting you’ve been wrong because in this case it means you learned something new(not all vaguely shady looking businesses are shady like that) AND it means you got an amazing massage for $ 40. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect because for some reason I NEVER«know what to do» when I go for a massage — do I put my face or my feet at this end? is it ok that I love staring down into that face-hole-thing? how many clothes can I keep on without seeming like I might have issues better handled by a psychiatrist than a massage therapist? do I say«hey FYI my back is all fucked up» or let them magically just figure that one out? I see a massage table and apparently amnesia washes over my brain. So that’s interesting. Fortunately the lovely, friendly lady who greeted me knew what to do(YES I KNOW that’s her job) and I was quickly shuffled off into a curtained cubicle of sorts. And then the magic happened, by which I mean a very diminutive looking woman in cheery pink scrubs worked every knot out of my back and legs with the force of some kind of… machine… of pressing? ITWASAMAZING. I spent the entire walk home noticing how cool it was to be able to turn my head completely to the side without lighting rods of agony shooting through my spine! Pink scrubs lady, I don’t know much about you, but I know you’re awesome at massages, and I love you(not in a creepy way). I’LLBEBACK. Less exciting detail-wise, the décor probably isn’t going to appear in next month’s issue of Town and Country(that’s a magazine for the rich people right??) but it’s clean and orderly and they play a cd of relaxing music and for some reason I find that gesture particularly charming and wonderful. THEEND.

Amazing. Eight yrs ago I fractured my coccyx in a rollerblading accident. I’ve been to multiple chiropractors, massage therapists and other physicians and have described the excruciating pain in detail, asking each and every one to focus on my lower spine(lumbar and sacral areas) and although I’ve had some good massages, nothing compares to my experience at this place. The lady that massaged my back, Mary, did an incredible job. I didn’t ask for anything specific, we never even had a discussion about pain or areas I might like her to focus on, but she managed to find them and work magic. It was painful at moments, but she had a magic touch, and did a fantastic job working out so many kinks and I felt great for days after. I highly recommend this place if you need a relaxing or therapeutic massage(or both). Mary was professional, very kind and took good care of me. When my time was up, she turned off the alarm and took the extra time to insure she was finished and I was happy. She didn’t rush or skimp on my needs. Additionally, they have a frequent massage card! I love this! I have no personal or professional affiliation with this business or any of the employers.
