My wife and I went to Wagner’s last Friday and purchased our first grandchild’s first pair of shoes and were delighted. Jerry was as helpful and professional as he was when we bought our son and daughter’s shoes there over 25 years ago. They sell traditional quality brand shoes at a fair price.

We were shopping in the Oak Park area, and found that the shoe store we wanted to try was no longer in business. They recommended we try Wagners in the next town over. This is a mom and pop type store in deperate need of a makeover. The interior looks like I expect it looked about 30 years ago, right down to the psychedelic carpet. It even smells a bit old, like my grandmother’s house. They have a small selection of comfort shoes for children and adults. The prices are a bit high, and I wish they had a better selection. There was nothing stylish and I expect their clientele is typically over 50 and local. I wouldn’t go back, since we don’t live in the area, but I did walk out with some new shoes for a four year old. And, he needed them and likes them. So, for that I’m grateful.
