History

Established in 1982.

Our early years were spent working mainly in the commerical end of the industry. We landscaped shopping centers and business parks and provided landscape contracting maintenance services for many of the parks in neighboring cities. Quite frankly, we did fine doing all that, but it just wasn’t fun! My desire is to create, and landscaping a shopping center doesn’t require much artistic ability or skill. About fifteen years ago it was time to work solely with the homeowner to begin using that creativity. And that’s what we’ve been doing ever since. The number of employee’s has always been kept small to help control quality of work. When we are hired by a homeowner, I will be one of those working the job also. We’ve kept it small and simple and top quality all this time and over the years have received awards from historical home societies and from state organizations. Sunset Magazine has also featured our work in their monthly magazine and their Western Garden Book.

I grew up in a house with parents always working in the yard and their various different patio areas. Always had flowers blooming and lush plants growing. I guess my love for the outdoors and the landscape around ones home started at a very early age. Although, I never did much care for the chore of mowing the front lawn. When it came time for college, my older brother, a landscape architect, suggested I go to Cal Poly Pomona to study Ornamental Horticulture — so off I went. Almost all my years since graduation have been self-​employed in the landscape industry. What makes us different from many of the other companies was my love for woodworking. Because of that love and skill, we have over the years created some beautiful wood arbors, decks, patio covers, bridges, privacy screens and on and on. Our love for what we do and what we create has brought some awards in our direction. And here we are 30 years later.
