Called Pat’s at 2:08 and their technician John happened to be near the area. John called about 10 minutes later and arrived shortly later. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. My TV had a loose connection causing the problem on the circuit board. John re-​soldered the connection and some others that would cause a problem down the road. From initial call to fixed in less than an hour and a half!

These guys charged $ 100 for a technician to come look at our malfunctioning TV. The technician spent an hour looking at it, didn’t know what was wrong. He said he’d do some research on parts and costs to fix it and call us back. That was in mid-​August. I have received no callbacks, I have attempted to call the store SEVERAL times and left messages to complete the repair but the store is always closed during normal business hours. I have even dropped by while in the area to no avail. There’s no way I’m able to get in contact with these people and it seems like they took our money and ran.

Wow a technical electrician that understands circuit board components and how to diagnose a problem is a rare thing to find indeed. I was recommended to Pat by my neighbor for a very different problem than a broken TV, I had an issue with my refrigerator. The main circuit board was inoperable, and in my case the company that produced them for Whirlpool was wiped out in the 2011 Tsunami in Japan. The result was that these circuit boards were being sold at 7 to 8 times their normal price (normally $ 250, now on Ebay for $ 1600), there were companies that were «remanufacturing» them for $ 300, I read a blog that talked about having someone knowledgeable with Circuit boards take a look and in some cases the board could be repaired at a lower cost than $ 300. I searched for this «circuit board repair company» to no avail, but as I said my neighbor recommended I call Pat, when I called I felt a little silly asking a TV repair guy to fix a refrigerator circuit board, but he was great on the phone asked me a few questions and told me to bring the circuit board in. I did and within 15 seconds of looking at the board, he told me, I had a bad capacitor, told me he had the capacitor and he would make the repairs for $ 25 bucks. Before replacing the worn out component, he inspected the rest of the board and tested the transistor and other components to ensure that there were not other issues. made the repair within 5 mins and I was on my way. He later gave me assistance with some electrical wiring issues I was having and even gave me a tip where I could purchace a switch that the appliance repair place wanted $ 35 bucks for, where I got it for $ 5 bucks. All in all my repair cost me $ 30 bucks as opposed to $ 500 had it been repaired by a appliance repair company.
Pat knows the workings of a circuit board, weather it is TV related or not and that skill is very rare in this age of designed obsolescence where the manufactures figure when your TV or refrigerator breaks you will either pay big bucks to replace the circuit board or just buy a new unit.
He was a sincerely nice guy that knew that if he wanted to he could have made a lot more money than he charged be, but was fair with his time expertise and labor.,

Lamp on our DLP TV blew out. Called at 10am and they didn’t have one in stock but called their warehouse to get one by closing time. Instead, got a call by 11:30am — — it was already at the shop. PLUS if I brought in the old lamp in its housing they would switch the fragile lamps for me FOR FREE.
I would definitely use them again.

Awful, awful experience. My only hope now is to prevent others from going here for TV repair service.
My husband’s TV was in a home that caught fire. The TV was very near the actual flames, so we were advised to get the TV checked out before ever using it inside another home. We called Pat’s TV Sales & Service and they said that they would look at the TV, but that they would charge $ 60 just to look at it. We made sure they were going to actually open it up and look at the components inside to check for any melted parts or anything that may spark and catch fire. We also asked them to clean the screen (for $ 60, why not). We figured $ 60 for peace of mind was well worth it (and much less than the cost of replacing this TV, a 37″ 1080p Vizio).
We took the TV in, paid the $ 60 up front, and left. Later that week, my husband got a call from someone at the shop saying that the TV was fine. In the conversation my husband asked if they sold remotes for this particular TV because his had been lost on the fire. Pat’s said they could order a remote for an additional $ 52. My husband said for them to order it, but then changed his mind within a half hour and called them back (we figured we could get one for a less expensive price online). When he called back, he was told that not only could they not «cancel» the order of the remote, we would have to pay the $ 52 for the remote or we wouldn’t get our TV back!!! Now, I understand that small businesses are hurting these days and that it’s harder for them to deal with returning an item like this. BUT: 1) I highly doubt that they had already placed the order for the remote within 30 minutes, and 2) even if they did, they could most certainly return said remote for a minor shipping fee (that we would have willingly paid if that’s what it came down to). 3) When we actually went down there to get the TV back and pay for the remote, it was a ridiculously CHEAP, UNIVERSAL remote that we could have gotten at freaking Radio Shack for less than $ 10. On top of all of that, the repairman (I’m assuming it was Pat) did not even opened up the TV like we had wanted. He simply said he plugged it in, turned it on, and it worked. I went through the trouble of explaining that we had asked for them (and paid for them) to do more, and he shrugged and said, «It’s fine». I went on to explain that it was in a house fire and he said, again, as if I was boring him to death, «it’s fine.» Not only that, but when I looked at the screen that they supposedly «cleaned», it had simply been wiped with a rag and had swirl marks on it… so they basically wiped it and left it alone. I’m sorry, but that’s not clean. For freaking $ 112, I could have done all of this «repair» work myself. All I would have needed is a power outlet to plug it in, a $ 5 can of screen cleaner and a $ 5 universal TV remote. I don’t know how this shop stays in business, I honestly don’t. The only positive experience was that Pat carried the TV to my car for me… probably because he was so happy he’d just screwed a couple out of $ 112 for nothing. If your TV might have only a minor problem or you’re not sure what the problem is, don’t waste your time or your money going here.
