Great fast food as always… Hampton Inn right next door… perfect location Wanted to give management a shout about Tommy, one of their servers who could NOT have been nicer or kinder… to us. After 8 hours on 95, what a pleasure to have him as our waiter… He even shared the secret of the PIN game with us… He should be in management… friendly, knowledgeable and gracious !!! Will stop again for sure !

The first time I came to this place I realized I had found one of the favorite spots in town! From the buttermilk biscuits to the scrambled eggs and pancakes this place takes the cake. And they do sure make some good cake as well… I was really happy with the overall experience. In the near future when I return to NC I will make a point to stop by.

Don’t know what’s worst the dog whistle racism I face in the North or the overt racism I just experienced. Brittany R. was my server and while she tried to fix it in the end with a smile, she blatantly made her other tables a priority over my family’s table. I usually don’t write reviews but this was truly disappointing. The service that you provide should be consistent and not based on preconceived prejudices and stereotypes. Also they restaurant was dirty from silverware, to menus, to tables and chairs. This places needs a deep cleaning and strong customer service training.

This is another Cracker Barrel that has horrible food. I have tried many different CB but so far am NOT impressed. Rather eat anywhere else.

First and last time at a Cracker Barrel. They get two stars for the nice and attentive waitress we had, and because we didn’t have to wait. The food was kinda gross. I ordered egg whites(it couldn’t have been any more than 2 shot glasses of egg whites that were on the plate), apple cinnamon oatmeal, and a blueberry muffin. The egg whites were runny, the oatmeal was bland and tasteless, and muffin was no more than decent. I tried some of my husbands apples which tasted like canned apples in a syrupy, tasteless goop. Thanks, but no thanks!

I’m a local here in Roanoke Rapids. My friend invited me out to lunch one day and we went there I had never been there before since it has been here. Or any other those restaurants. The food was excellent the service was friendly and fast and I felt comfortable there. Really didn’t see anything in the gift shop to write home about lol. Maybe it’s because all that stuffs at my house already. And I didn’t have to buy it new I grew up with it. I would recommend it to anyone so enjoy yourself.

My monthly venue. My husband eat here once a month. I enjoy the Friday Fish Fry(cod) with sweet potatoes and string beans. I love fish and Cracker Barrel does it right. The staff has always been friendly. For breakfast, I enjoy the pancakes, potato casserole, eggs and bacon. Great for kids and the area where Cracker Barrel is always charming and inviting. I never can leave without purchasing a trinket.

If the baked biscuits and steak fries were enough to live off of, and amiable service I’d be in carb heaven but throw in the batter dipped chicken and not being able to create a chicken sandwich on a successive roll, I’ll stick to any bar in the US. With that chicken being the equivalent of 3 chicken fingers, though average, just over priced and not enough.

Food taste like your Grandma whose watching her sodium and doesn’t like spices made it. Totally bland, boring entrees served alongside dishwater masquerading as dark roast coffee. I was happy the portions were microscopic so we could get outta there quick. Also…by no means #CHEAP

A decent meal was the reason I decided to take a break from driving. Instead, it was a solid waste of 40 mins. Who brings out a plate where gravy is noticeably cold??? It was a glob!!! SMH. I was too upset to order anything else. Good thing they took it off my bill. I know to NEVER have high expectations for any restaurant off the interstate.

HORRIBLE!!! Friday night, 30+ minutes after placing our order, my boyfriend and I were told they«ran out» of chicken. After this LONG, hungry wait, we were offered neither the bread nor vegetables that came with the chicken– just a BAD experience. Go to Applebee’s across the street.

Cracker Barrel is usually a reliable place for a decent meal while traveling. Sadly, this location does not live up to that standard. As other reviews have mentioned, we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded, and the waitress promptly took our order. And then we waited. And waited. When the food finally arrived, my husband and I noticed that the portions seemed skimpier than usual. Our meals were lukewarm and marginal, at best. My biscuits were missing their gravy, but my waitress assured me that the gravy was on its way out. It must have gotten lost on its way from the kitchen to our table, because I never received it. My husband’s baked potato looked like a leftover from the Irish Potato Famine. It was shriveled and dried out. We had barely begun eating when the waitress left the bill at the table, clearly indicating that we needed to hurry up and get out. We happily obliged. In the end, I wish we had stopped at one of the fast food restaurants nearby.

I like when I can go to CB, be seated and served in a timely manner. Seems on my Saturday morning trip I must have arrived before the breakfast rush. I usually order a «uncle hershel’s» breakfast choice, this time I chose the«country» breakfast with country fried chicken and gravy, hashbrown casserole, grits, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sweet tea, Arrived with minimal wait time. Enjoyed the entire meal, Staff was polite and professional.

I love Cracker Barrel. I have to stop by at least one Cracker Barrel during a road trip. The food is consistently delicious and this location did not disappoint me. Cracker Barrel is where I would disregard my healthy eating rules and eat whatever I feel like it. My family arrived at lunch time so there was a short wait for the table. Even though we were quoted a 10 to 15 minutes wait time, we were seated within 5 minutes. I had the Spicy Grilled Catfish with brown rice pilaf and turnip green(I am in love with the turnip green and hesitant about trying other side dishes). My husband has the steak with grits and broccoli. My son had the macaroni and cheese and glazed carrot. We all enjoyed our food. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was good and the food arrived in a decent time. I bought a jar of the apple butter and while I was looking through the selections at the store, a couple of the employees came over and offered me assistant. In general, I never had a bad experience at any Cracker Barrel or a bad meal. I tried the dumpling, but I didn’t like it so I brushed it off as a personal preference as a oppose to telling the world not to eat it. There is a sign at the front of every store with a phone number to call if you find your dining experience to be unsatisfactory so instead of complaining about it on sites like this, it’s better to call them and let them resolve the issues.

Walked right in, no waiting! The waitress promptly took our order and backed us up with coffee. Took almost 15 minutes to get our order– but that could have been curtailed had it not been for two other tables that left within 5 minutes of ordering their food… without having the courtesy of telling their waitress to cancel their orders. The breakfast was fine. No complaints.

Although we didn’t have to wait to get seated and our hostess was a sweet older lady we ended up having to leave without eating. Unfortunately, being on a timeline we just couldn’t wait any longer for someone to come to our table and take our order, let alone eat when and if it arrived. Needing to get back on the road we packed up and moved out. Therefore I have no choice but to rate this place based on a few things we did encounter. The cleanliness of the restaurant, including the bathrooms, which were both clean and tidy. The service we received and the facility itself. Facility: The place was very cold as if the AC was working overtime but the rest of the restaurant was a typical Cracker Barrel. Service: We were seated right when we came in by a wonderful elderly lady but we waited freezing at our table for someone to come by and take our drink order but no one came… no one for our drink, food or just to say«I’ll be there in a minute,» so we had to leave. Given what were presented I can only rate this CB with 2 Stars but I see from the other Unilocalers scores that our experience wasn’t too far off from past customers. Maybe the owners need to consider getting a new general manger?

Gert likes her Cracker Barrel restaurants. They are good for comfort food, and I have enjoyed my share over the years. But we are supposedly cutting out that kind of food so I was surprised to hear the plea to stop. But much like McDonald’s, travelers always know there are clean restrooms here and a decent meal. The children found the checkers table. Fritz does not play well, so I took over. Beetle enjoyed our game. We didn’t even finish before our meal was served. I had the catfish fillets. Yes, I have(d)evolved over the years and order fish inland and at non-seafood joints. The fish was passable. Supposedly it was a healthy choice from the menu. I had a double helping of green beans. I don’t think they were steamed; I also did not eat them all. Beetle and I finished our game of checkers. It’s nice that she is old enough to play games with her old man. I enjoyed the experience.
