My wife and I work in Dearborn, where we are constantly seeking out the best Middle Eastern restaurants. We love Hamido, Al Ameer, Ollie’s, Amani’s, so the bar is set pretty high. Mezza in Rochester more than meets that bar. We order feasts most every week and have been delighted with every bite. The staff is great as well, one in particular is named Mo. Tell them Stu sent ya. :)

Omg! Go elsewhere! Waited over an hour at lunch– waitress said the cook was slammed… only two tables came after us and got food! Still waited, waters emptied… food never came! Had to get back to the office. Over an hour and a half and no food. Screw that! They insisted we paid… for what??? Water and stupid bread!!! NEVERWILLRETURN!

I would have loved to give this 5 stars, like my previous visits, however my last visit was less than pleasant. My boyfriend and I went with the intention to use an «expired» groupon for dinner, since I had visited this business in the past with my grandparents and had great service(another waitress). However during this visit, our groupon was rudely declined as our waitress stated that they no longer accept them. Groupon states that after the promotional period, you are able to use the amount you paid for the voucher, however this business did not want to comply. Not to mention, the waitress was rude, and did nothing after we mentioned that the meat had tendons in the pieces. I wish I would’ve had the experience I had during the first two visits with my family because now I will not hesitate to eat somewhere else. I also contacted the business through their website, and have not received any response back(about 6 weeks ago). Terrible customer service.

Very friendly staff, great meal, great value– super fresh salad with a chicken pita for $ 6.99. You can’t beat it, my new go to place for healthy food!

Make the extra drive and go elsewhere. They have gotten my order wrong more times than they have gotten it right(pickles or tomatoes, when I ask for them to not be in my sandwich). I believe there’s a language barrier in the kitchen, the cooks have a difficult time understanding the wait staff. As another reviewer mentioned, the owner(or manager) would discipline his employees in front of everyone. That’s no way to run a business, very unprofessional. The last time I was there, I stopped in for a carry out around 8PM on a Saturday. There was one customer in front of me, waiting for their food to be bagged for a carryout. I waited in line for 4 minutes behind this person to place my order, and was never acknowledged by the one server or person bagging the food. I have found my Mediterranean restaurant fix elsewhere, with consistently delicious food.

Food is good. Service is awful! The waitress was NOT good and NOT professional or helpful at all. Maybe not her fault… she obviously was not trained at all. Then she charged me 50 cents for a very small(silver dollar size) side of garlic sauce… it is usually free. Then I ordered another order and paid for the bread… she only gave me ½ the order. ??? She did complain that she is the only waitress and is working long hours. She made it very uncomfortable. I will wait until they hire a new girl or this one gets some training(maybe covering up the hickies on her neck and pulling back her dirty hair would help.).

Love Love this place, especially their Rochester Hills-Tienken Road location. They have the best Fattoosh salad and hummous, not to mention the bread. My kids fight over the bread! Service is good, and quick. We get carry outs about 2 – 3 times a week. Awesome! Pricing is fair. Food is fresh! They have a kids menu too, but my kids love to eat the Mediterranean food better!

Definitely over priced! The fattoush salad was very good, but the chicken shwarma was under par(chicken was dried out) and the Pizza Napoli was tasteless. We only wanted water to drink. It was served in very small plastic cups and the server didn’t do a very good job of keeping them filled. I wouldn’t go back. There are too many other similar restaurants in the area that are better all the way around.

Avoid. The $ 6 «special» for a sandwich/salad ended up costing me $ 10 since I ordered a fatoosh salad which had an upcharge. I really didn’t care until I got the salad and it was literally less salad than I could hold in my hand. When I told the lady at the counter, she could care less even after I told her that I wouldn’t be back. Food was ok but the feeling of getting ripped off will have me never coming back.

I used to come here all the time until I tried to hire them to cater my engagement party– they really ripped me off– they came an hour later than promised, brought me half my order– embarrassed the heck out of me in front of my guests, and then proceeded to scream at me on my special day! I had a bad experience getting over charged with them before, but I thought I could trust that they’d be prepared for my engagement party. Boy was I wrong!

Second time here and now remember why. Service is very average and prices are high. Food is average. Ten other places within 5 miles I will go to before going back. Would not recommend.

The Lamb Kafta is great. Food is and good value. The coffee is not so good but everything else is awesome.

We used to come here all the time — I’m talking once or twice per week. The food was always great and the prices were OK. We would split a greek chicken salad with a small hummous and our bill would usually come out to be around $ 20. However, it was always really awkward because you could tell the manager was really harsh on his staff. I mean, yelling at them in front of the customers for small little things that were just harmless mistakes. Sometimes this person would even have a rude tone with us, the paying customers! I’m not one to judge the way you run your business, but it could get pretty hostile, fast. That was the biggest reason we quit going. We were sad because their food was always very delicious, but a new place opened up where the staff is extremely nice and the food is just as good and the prices are better. I hope they shape up, because we really liked it there!

Avoid this place. The grilled tomatoes in the veggie plate were stale. I complained about it, and although the waiter said he would do something about it got no compensation or no replacement food.

I love their Greek salad! Add some hummus and fresh baked bread and you have a great lunch. The service has always been extremely friendly. I have brought out of town guests here on a few occasions and they loved it. Their prices are a little high, but I think it is worth it.

This place is the epitome of mixed reviews, but I was close and needed my hummus and falafel fix. Overall, my experience was very average. I ordered take out and asked them to have it ready by a certain time. I only had to wait about 10 additional minutes for my order, so that was fine. The food? Meh. I ordered vegetarian grape leaves, hummus(which comes with bread) and falafel wraps. The hummus was pretty good! I really enjoyed the bread that came along with it — so soft and delicious. The vegetarian grape leaves were pretty average. Mezza’s grape leaves had a thicker layer of leaves than I’m used to, but that wasn’t bad. I will say that they were better cold, as leftovers. The falafel wraps were exactly what I expected, and very averagely so. Overall, it was a pretty underwhelming experience. The prices seemed a bit high for what I got, but it was all just very okay.

Avoid! Been here three times and each time my order was incorrectly prepared. I mean, how hard is it to make an order that is from your own menu?! Messing up orders + pricey menu = never again. Do not recommend.

There’s something to say for hype and how it draws us all in… I guess I should’ve known better than to think it would me possible for an authentic Mediterranean eatery to be in this area. After all its been years since Fatoosh has ruled the downtown spot as the best falafel, shwarma, hummus and of course can’t forget their kibbee… This place did nothing more than make me bust out the Easy Mac and grab another beer. Not a place for a light wallet either. Stay away from the chicken shwarma and if you have to get a falafel, ask to leave the pickles off.

Good food but overpriced. I mean $ 22+ for two sandwiches, salad, fries &NO drinks. Really? Easily the most expensive Mediterranean in the area. BUT the food is fresh and tasty, which is why it still earns 3 stars. So if you want pretty good Mediterranean and not afraid of to pay a few extra bucks, Mezza is a good choice. For those who enjoy the same food but are a bit thriftier, visit Sherzad’s about a mile up the road.

Mezza is a wonderful resturant. The décor is nice(but not too fancy so you might want to go for lunch). The selection is wide and the food is prepared well. There is a wide selection of extras like bottled water, deserts, and bread to go.(There are no fountain drinks so everything is sold as a bottle). My only minor complaint is that the food is a tad overpriced, one to two dollars cheaper would be better. Other than that, I hightly recommend this resturant.
