Dragas Brewing

I really like this place! enough that I will schlep out to Rocklin from Carmichael for their «stout of fire» the vanilla chili beer… shut the front door that beer is amazing. We went on the tour and talked to two of the owners, both were very nice and you can tell they really care about their product.

Great brewery with lots of open space and entertainment. They have a pool table, dart board, television, and a shuffle board game. We had a groupon deal which included a tour, 2 pint glasses to take home, and 2 flights of beer. This is a great place to hangout and grab a beer with a group of friends. They also have a different food truck there in front everyday which is a plus!

Went to Dragas because we heard that JJ’s BBQ was going to be there. As usual, the food was GREAT! I had the tri tip sandwich and my wife had the pulled pork. So much better then «bar food». Dragas is interesting. I’ve been there three times and they are consistently out of IPAs. Oh well, maybe next time. Go for the food!!!

Lovely, lovely place. I like to support a local joint and their beer makes it easy! I really enjoy the Weiss apple, thunder porter, or the Dillion’s brown ale. The service here is great. Always the same friendly faces and I like that they stop by the tables to check in, see if you need refills, or just chat. What a great establishment here in the heart of Rocklin. I will say that adding an outdoor/​patio area would make it more enjoyable in the warmer months, but still awesome none-​the-​less.

I wasn’t super impressed with what they got going on here. The owner did tell me that he thinks really hoppy beers are a fad and that is why their beer isn’t very hoppy. If you are looking for a brewery with limited hops then come on down. If you want a nice hoppy IPA then move on folks you won’t find one here.
I would like to come back to this brewery after two years to see how they evolve but right now it’s just three stars for this hop lover.

Dan is the man! I went there with some buddies an had some flights, great beer, with a great description of what we were drinking from Dan. They have the games on, with plenty of games! Definitely will be coming a lot more.

Super fun place to grab a beer. Everyone is friendly, including the crowd. They have no problem showing you the equipment and showing you their process. No secrets here! I got the Brown Ale and thought it was deeeelish.

Plenty of lot parking, and the facility is big and clean! They had a beer for everyone’s tastes (my favorite was the IPA) and the staff was very friendly.
No food here, but they sometimes have a food truck outside, or you can bring your own food.
They have trivia on Mondays, as well as darts, foosball and a pool table.
They are also dog friendly! Will bring my pup to hang out next time!

Favorite brewery in this town. Try the Thunder Porter! Very accommodating, friendly atmosphere. We had over 15 people in our party and the employees treated us with the same care as if we were a party of two. Darts, beer, pool table, cards against humanity… You name it!

Came here around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn’t super busy. That being said, loved the space! It’s wide-​open and clean with huge windows and lots of natural light. Can see all the brewing equipment while you enjoy their beers. I’m not a beer snob like my boyfriend so I enjoyed most of their selections. Weisse Apple was tasty with just a hint an apple, not overly fruit which I liked. There’s plenty of tables and a lounging area with couches. Several tvs if you want to watch sports. We enjoyed the shuffleboard, dart bart, and other games they had to offer. Locally owned and the guys working the bar were friendly and knowledgeable. Seemed like an older crowd (30s-​40s) than us (late 20s-​early 30s). Only downside is that there is no food, not even bar snacks. They do have food trucks most evenings from 4 – 8 pm though. Will definitely come back when we want a chill place to enjoy some local brews!

We loved this place! Great vibe, friendly staff, and great beer. We especially loved the stout and the porter. The stout has back heat from chili peppers. The building is cool and we loved playing shuffle board. Bonus: Groupon!

I unlike my hubby am not overly impressed with Dragas. I need to start by saying that the location, set up inside and parking outside are fantastic. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. No complaints there. However, the beer… Meh. I know I am a hard customer to please. I am very picky and specific with what I enjoy. I either like super hoppy, piney, bitter IPA’s or a good sour. Cliché I know, but that is what I like. A friend got a flight and I opted for The Imp, a black IPA. None of the beer on the flight struck me as wonderful. I was glad I got what I did.
Bottom line: If you haven’t been to Dragas, you absolutely should check it out. Maybe you will enjoy their style of brews.

Dart boards, games open space and very clean. I highly recommend if you have a group and are tired or the smaller cramped places we seem to be finding.
Small, family ran and very personal. I loved it.

The place is super nice! i love the large warehouse feel that it has — there is also i think some games you can play — and if memory serves me right a small shuffleboard table, maybe i’m wrong. Be careful finding the entrance into the parking lot, if you don’t turn immediately on Pacific before the intersection of Sunset, you have to take a huge detour to get back on to Pacific to turn in — the signage of the entrance to the lot isn’t good.
It seems on the weekends they typically have a food truck which is awesome. My only gripe is the food truck that was there the day we were was a Maine Lobster thing — so the cheapest thing on the menu was like $ 12 and honestly — the portions are small. At that price, I’ll go to yard house for a much larger selection of food … and beer.
Their beer was pretty good — we had a groupon (still available and from what it seems a GREAT DEAL cause you get free pint glasses with each flight) — and it was a good four flights for 5 people drinking — everyone seemed to love the beer. It’s nice having these new breweries in the neighborhood to try out without having to drive super far somewhere else :) We’d be back!

Dragus Brewing had a Groupon for two tasting flights, a tour and two pint glasses to take home so we decided to check it out.
When you walk in you notice all the space they have. This would be an awesome place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night! They have a shuffle board table, foosball table and a few board games to keep you busy. I guess board games are the cool thing to have in breweries now because I see them ALL THE TIME.
They had some pretty great service here! The bartender was very friendly and one of the owners who gave us the tour was very nice too. They both seemed very knowledgeable about the beer and explained everything to us when we received our sampler. The only complaint I had was that service was a little slow. The bartender didn’t seem to move very fast and poured the beer and greeted customers at a leisurely pace.
I really wish I liked their beer more. The only beer I could drink a pint of was the IPA. I was not a fan of any of the others and that made me sad because they have such a nice brewery.

Dragas Brewery is a cool concept with uniquely named beers, but the beer itself is rather bland and flavorless. The only beer that really stood out among the others in the taster flight was the Stout of Fire, which has a hint of chili pepper in the flavor. The brewery is relatively new so maybe they just haven’t worked out all of the kinks in the brewing process. I might come back in a few months to see if the beer has gotten any better.

Stopped by yesterday. I’ll be honest– I REALLY want this place to succeed. And these types of establishments are really hard. And I acknowledge that. But to succeed– you have to execute. Sometimes things come up, but you want to over execute.
Wanted to grab a couple 22 ounce bottles. Unfortunately, they only had the beers bottled that I’m not real hip on. It was their lager and their wheat beer. The wheat beer with Apple isn’t bad actually. Pretty good– but I came for other beers and I couldn’t get them.
So I asked for a growler and they are out of growler bottles and they are on «back order»… I don’t know what that means– except I wasn’t able to get any beer that I wanted.
I REALLY want to like this place. And I’ll give it more chances. I’m confident they’ll work out their kinks and will update my review when they do!

I was extremely disappointed in this place. Drags gets 1 star for overall feel and one star because it is based in Rocklin (where I live!). You’re welcome.
Basically I have never been to such an unwelcoming brewery ever. Let’s be honest — starting a brewery is a very trendy thing — they are all over the place and there is stiff competition for my beer dollars.
When we walked in, we walked up to the bar and we waited a solid 5 – 7 minutes before even being acknowledged. Once they paid attention to us, the bartender didn’t introduce us to the place, offered no insight on their beers, nothing at all. I get more explanation on beers at Century Club…
After we ordered, they asked us all for our IDs… I respect that. Despite our graying hair, it is always good to know we look young to someone. It was all good until they looked closely at the ID of one of my friends and then commented «This does not look like you.» OK… whatever.
Fortunately, they still served us despite my and my mid-​30 friends apparently looking underage and using fake IDs.
I also asked for a water… because my wife is 8 months pregnant and she isn’t drinking a whole lot these days. You know, that whole baby thing… again, it took a few minutes to get their attention. While getting my water, the bartender was chatting it up with someone else. Actually stopped pouring my water to continue his conversation. Walked around the bar with the water on his way to give someone their check and handed it to me on his way back… would have been a lot easier to reach across the 18 inch bar and just give me my damn water.
So… now onto the beer — which, at this point, I already have a bad taste in my mouth. I had the IPA. It was decent. Nothing that is going to get me to come back regularly. Like I said, there is a lot of competition for my beer dollars… and if the beer is average, and the service is suspect, I can’t see myself coming back here any time soon. What is interesting is I was talking with a neighbor about going there BEFORE my trip with friends, and he spoke out against it. Thought that was strange — but now it makes sense.
Sorry Dragas. I wish the best for you — but you have to become MUCH more welcoming… otherwise it is hard to even enjoy the beer.

Here for the first time on a Thursday around 4 p.m. It’s located at the corner of Pacific St. and Sunset Blvd., but you can only access the parking lot from Pacific St. You could drive right by it, so watch out if you are using GPS to get here.
They are only open in the afternoons, so don’t plan to arrive before 3 p.m. They don’t make food here, but do have a food truck schedule.
Beers I kinda liked:
1. Weisse Apple (Apple Infused Wheat Ale)
2. Pacific at Sunset (the best I tried)
3. 5860 IPA
4. Thunder Porter (surprised)
5. Stout of Fire (also surprised)
Beers I didn’t like:
1. Caliko (California Kolsch Style Ale)
The atmosphere seemed to attract people 40+ I noticed. I’m 32 and was carded at the bar when I sat down. The bar itself is pretty cool and is in a U-​shape in the middle of the room. It was fairly busy when I arrived, but I was still able to find a seat at the bar.

The Fire of Stout is a killer, KILLER, beer!
Our final stop of our three Brewery Crawl for the day — It wasn’t a planned stop, but someone in our group saw it on the way to our first stop of the day, and suggested it as an impromptu option for the day’s events; Glad he did! There was a pizza truck out front when we pulled in. Great sign! As we were walking inside Dragas Brewing, I quickly realized that I saw a story on the news a few days earlier about businesses starting up in Rocklin, and how that trend is rapidly growing. The primary example in the story, was this place I was now standing in. Pretty cool!
Three of us ordered the IPA, and the other person still with us ordered a Stout. As we were enjoying our beers, Dan Acuff, CEO and Cofounder of Dragas Brewing came over and hung out at our table for a while. A cool dude. As I was telling him that I saw the news story, I remembered him being interviewed in that story. It was one of those surreal moments, and kind of a bigger deal when you have been drinking craft beers all day. Ha! He answered our questions, both serious and ridiculous, and was very informative about the beers and brewery. They had only been open for two weeks as of our visit. You could sense his excitement as well as his need to acquire feedback. We definitely wish him and his family (who are the other cofounders) the best of luck.
As for our beers… Mixed results regarding the 5860 IPA. I enjoyed it, and the other two were split in their view. It wasn’t till I took a sip off my friend’s Stout that I got real happy however. I immediately ordered a pint of it, and I probably would have ordered another, but I was probably getting a bit too happy. It’s called Stout of Fire and it is a chili vanilla milk stout. It was clearly the best beer I drank that day. It is fantastic, and the heat on the back end is amazing on this beer. I am looking forward to my next visit already.
As we were leaving, Our brewery host, Dan, decided to walk us out and thank us for coming. The pizza truck was still out front with a line of hungry people getting pie. After a day of visiting craft breweries during the start of Sac Beer Week, we couldn’t have finished the day at a better place! Four Stars!

Great Brewery!
Good location with plenty of parking. The setup is great lots of room inside. Pretty much all windows which is cool. They have plenty of seating with a cool couch area for some serious chilling. They have shuffle board and giant Jenga along with some board games so there is some fun stuff to do while sampling the beers.
The beers were all well done. We started with a sampler which workout out well. The Caliko and Stout of Fire were my favorites. The staff will give you a full run down on any of the beers they have. They have a good spread of beers so everyone in our group found something they really liked.
They have a food truck schedule which works out really well for weekends.
Glad to have another great local brewery around.
