Snail Performance is a licensed COBB ProTuner with the ability to offer support for any COBB Tuning application and ProTunes for BMW, Ford, Mazdaspeed, Mitsubishi, Nissan GT-​R, Porsche, & Subaru. We also are a licensed EcuTek Tuner for Subaru 2004 — current and BRZ & FR-​S.

Tuning

Snail Performance uses a Mustang Dynamometer MD-​AWD-​500 load-​bearing dynamometer to accurately monitor a wide range of engine data and power output in real time to accurately tune your car.

Travis is a very honest Protuner.
–I came by 4 months ago but was sent home because he noticed my AVCS was acting up and engine was just not in good shape for a tune. He then recommended me to his friend to rebuild my motor from scratch.
−01÷20÷16 4 months later… I came back for a dyno tune on E85 and his tune made great power, the Powerband is just soo smooth and the cold start at 49 degrees this morning started first try!!! One issue he pointed out was my left side avcs was acting up a bit causing a slower spool, my fault I choose to use a used one. Changed it today and wow what a difference the datalog shows everything is working as it should.
To end this review Travis is a great and honest tuner, the power is awesome and smooth :)

Most reviewers pretty much covered all the things I want to say. Travis tuned my 15 Sti and the service was excellent. The communication is much better than some tuners in the bay area. That is why I drove more than a 100 miles to snail performance. I like how fast Travis responds to messages and respond professionally. He seems like someone you can trust and easy to work with.

This is my second time getting my car tuned with Travis. I was pretty nervous and had a lot of questions about what I needed to buy to finally go Stage 2 on my 07 STI. Travis responded quickly, and answered all of my questions! The tune is very aggressive, and I’m loving the power Travis squeezed out of my car. If you need a tune on your car, I HIGHLY recommend you see Travis!

I first came to Snail Performance on 3÷13÷15. I own a ’15 Subaru FXT and Travis’s COBB tune very much improved my CVT shifting and throttle response. He helped make a fun car even more exciting to drive. Since then I have made several large changes to my engine and he has impressed me each time with a safe tune that makes some serious power. When I started looking for a tuner, Travis seemed to be one of a few tuners available in Northern California. From scheduling to tuning, I worked directly with Travis. He picks up his own phone and answers questions directly. His customer service and knowledge made the choice an easy one. He even coordinated with FW to get some parts installed for me. Coming from San Jose, being able to have everything taken care of in the same day is a huge plus.
I’m definitely going to book Travis again when I need an updated tune.

So, about 2 months ago I finished up my fuel system and installed a larger turbo. Came back up to have Travis retune the car for the new set up. Totally satisfied. 386whp/​397wtq on a blouch 1.5xtr! We had a slight delay in the morning and he helped me try and find the issue of a misfire. Ended up being a reversed wire on the cam sensor which was figured out by the shop who installed everything on my car. Travis stuck through it for me and I drove me home full throttle a few too many times: D will be back again!

I scheduled dyno tuning with Snail Performance. My 2015 STI was tuned from another shop. But while it ran well it was having stumbling issue as it build boost around 2500 – 3000 RPM. Otherwise, my STI ran well during track day at MRLS.
So I decided to give Travis a try as I have heard great things of him from forums, including a friend of mine, who was tuned by him two years ago.
Travis recommended replacing the boost controller with the 3-​port EBCS. It was installed within 30 minutes and off it went to the Dyno for tuning. Immediately, I noticed the stumbling issue is absent. My car’s drivability is now better. Power comes on smooth and early. Power all the way to the redline. I also appreciate the improvement of the I mode of the SI Drive. I drive a lot on the highway so I use the I mode quite frequently for better fuel economy. It responds well to my input so passing is also improved in I mode
I’ve seen overall improvement with my STI’s daily driving performance. I will be back soon to upgrade the fuel injectors and get tuned for E85! I can’t wait to test my car with the upcoming track day in Thunderhill.

There is no one else I would trust more to tune my 2007 Subaru STi than Travis himself! He makes my car drive so much smoother than any of the 2 tuners that I have previously used in the past. Don’t think twice, Travis @ Snail is THE way to go!

Got my ’15 wrx a tune today from the one and only Travis today. Completely satisfied with the results! Dual maps for 91/​e85. It really brought the car to life! I recommend if you’re in NorCal make the commute to his shop if you want quality results!

Excellent tune by Travis today. My car had a tune from another shop and it just never ran right and i wasn’t happy. After talking to Travis a couple times he had determined the problem was the manual boost controller and he recommended it be changed to a electronic boost controller. The tune is more reliable now and better response in all gears and throttle position. I highly recommend Snail Performance for all your tuning needs.

Awesome tuner, got some good power out of my 2006 sti with water/​meth, totally different beast now. Travis definitely knows his stuff. Travis will be the only guy who tunes my car EVER! If you don’t have him tune your car you are wasting your money simply said.

Got my 2010 wrx tuned at snail. Travis is a great tuner. He got some great numbers turned out while still improving driveability over the Cobb ots map. I highly recommend Snail if you want a good tune in the Bay Area.

I wanna be the first to say, that Travis is an awesome guy who is set on helping everyone. You can tell he puts the customers best interests first and is always available. He is very good about making himself available to his customers also. No one else will ever be tuning my car unless its Travis himself.
