This is the BEST, most honest locksmith in the Roseville, Rocklin area! He arrived within 10 minutes, after saying it may take 15… just as I found my keys. Despite his time and gas expense, he refused to charge me a dime. Said if he didn’t do the work, he didn’t feel right about charging me. Wow. If only more businesses operated this way.

We were locked out of the house by our eager puppy who likes to scratch on the door handle when she hears the garage door open. It was a Friday night, we called Patrick and he came within 20 mins. He went right to work and had the door opened within a few minutes. He showed us his license, explained the locksmith business and made us feel comfortable with his service. His fee was also very reasonable esp. considering how late it was.

Hired Pat McGinnis to laser-​cut a new aftermarket key (with FOB) after we spoke with him & followed his straight forward directions. Turns out that the year of our Pilot key (it’s chip set) was not a 2005, but an ’06. He and I only learned that after he cut the key & programming failed. After I purchased a 2nd blank key (from mfr), Pat recut that key and successfully programmed my keys without issue & without added charged. I appreciate him standing behind his work and recommend his service.

I called a few locksmiths in the area about getting a new FOB made for my car and was quoted between $ 100 & $ 150. I called here and the nicest man on the phone explained that i could buy a FOB from amazon for $ 5 – 10 and it was easy to program. He also said that if i had any trouble, he’d only charge $ 20 to do it for me. I got a FOB for my 06 Focus for $ 5.99 (free shipping and delivered ON TIME) and it took 5 seconds to program! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!! =))

First time I met Patrick he is the owner, I lost all the key to my car. I looked on Unilocal and found him, and I call him and he came out in less than and half hour. Made me a set of new keys, got it programmed to my car and I was on my way home. I had put his phone number in my emergency contact. He got me out of trouble every time. Today he just re-​keyed on the door lock in my house. He is always fair with his pricing, timely service, and honesty. That’s a very hard thing to find nowadays. I would highly recommend McGinnis Lock and key to everybody.

Super helpful. Explained every step of the way. Very reasonable prices. I had a electronic car key, 2 older car keys and 4 house keys — $ 48!!! The electronic car key at Home Depot/​Ace Hardware would have been at east $ 80. He even made me a burner key (opens doors, but does’t engage ignition) for free! Will highly recommend and use again. If he gives you directions to his shop/​house; listen closely or write them down, I did not and got lost.

Would give 10 stars if I could. I waited 2 hours for another locksmith. I tried a second locksmith that didn’t do automotive but suggested McGinnis. He showed up within 20 minutes, got me in my car right away where I found the key I thought needed to be replaced. AND he made me a spare key at no charge. Service was prompt and professional. If I EVER need a locksmith this is who in calling! Thank you so much!

Can’t be more pleased with the service! I needed to get a key made and key fobs programmed for my 2013 Elantra. It was very fast and easy. I highly recommend this guy he down to earth and charged a ¼ of what the dealership wanted and there was no hidden fees for service like other locksmiths I contacted. It’s nice to do business with someone local and runs his own small business.

I have never needed a locksmith before. I bought a used Ford expidition the owner did not know the the Digital code for the door unlock. It only had one key and remote. He recovered the unlock code made me a new key and programmed a new remote for a lot less than the dealer wanted to recover the unlock code. And it did not take very long at all I had a very short wait. I hope to never need a locksmith again but if so I know who to call.
