I had dinner on a week night, place was quiet and serene inside. Found out there was a lively bar after we were leaving. We waited for almost 20 mins before the manager passed our table and asked if we were ok and decided yo take our order. Food was ok. We got complimentary salsa and chips. The salsa was super cold tho. The sizzling steak fajita was small and filled with more onions than anything else but tasted great. Wasn’t a bad experience but I will be trying the other restaurants in the area.

The waiter always seemed like he was in a rush. He missed my offer of guacamole and it seemed like he was avoiding eye contact whenever I asked for a refill of water(which I had to contiuously ask for). In terms of the food quality, it was more of less like paying for taco bell, except I could probably get better tasting tacos at Taco Bell for much cheaper. I’m sorry, but this is my honest opinion.

This is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Extremely disappointed. This place is not authentic Mexican food at all. They should rename it Taco Bell. Ugh.Gross. Just thinking about this place upsets me.

I’ve gotten food from here a few times recently and it’s been soo good. The portion sizes are decent and the sangria was delicious. Got guac to start and that was a decent amount too. Closest to authentic Mexican food in the area.

Not good at all. Went for a friends birthday. Six of us in total. Food was bland and staff was unfriendly except for one waitress who was friendly. We ordered a round of drinks, 5 came right out the the 6th waited 10 minutes. Also we ordered a glass of wine later and after 30 minutes had to ask again. I ordered 3 frozen margaritas and they were really watered down. I got more of a buzz on a bottle of beer then the 3 margaritas When asking for more chips you would have to ask 2 or 3 times before they would bring them. Best part of the meal was desserts. They were good but honestly that was it. Doubt I would go back

Wasn’t thrilled with a previous visit there, but figured I’d try again. Even more disappointing this time around. Steak fajita tasted like it was day old reheated meat. Waiter was rude and rushed us. It’s a shame such a cute had such bad food and poor service.

Haven’t been in here since I was little, and it hasn’t changed at all. I was expecting lackluster, bland Mexican food but was pleasantly surprised. The service was quick, and polite. The chips could have been warm, but the salsa was super tasty. The margaritas were very strong, two of them each and my friend and I were buzzed. Most importantly, everyone enjoyed their food. I had the chicken mole poblano enchiladas, and they were delicious. Some of the best mole sauce that I have had in a very long time. Probably has to do with la vieja(the old Mexican lady) in the kitchen cooking the food. Best part, this place is cheap. 3 people, two drinks each, an appetizer, and 3 mains for $ 90. This place is the real deal for Mexican in Rockville Centre, definitely a lot better than Salsa Mexicana and Mesita.

I came here on a date with my boyfriend and it was a really great experience. However, there were some downfalls as well. First off this place is located by the Rockville Centre LIRR which had a big parking lot. When you first walk in you see the patio which looks awesome for summer parties. We walk in and are welcomed with a live Marachi band. We were seated and given complimentary chips and salsa. My boyfriend said that the salsa should of been warmed up and I kind of agree with him. However, the margarita we ordered with salt on the rim was very good! I was very happy with the margarita not too strong not too weak. We both ordered the fajitas with chicken and steak. However, we received fajitas with chicken and shrimp. Thank Goodness they made a mistake because the shrimp was to die for. The shrimp was jumbo and so flavorful. The Marachis sing at every table while you’re eating and sit to you. I was very happy with my experience here. However, it can use some improvement.

Food is always excellent, servers are friendly… Try the sopa de gallina or the chili! Definitely best Mexican option in the area!

Food was great, couldn’t finish it all. And the authentic mariachi band was just icing on the cake. Too cute.

Have been coming here for years. Food has always been fresh and delish. Their chicken soup has the most chicken in any restaurant I’ve ever been in. The TexMex Fajitas will knock your socks off. Fish a la Mariachi another winner. Chips and salsa are never ending, try to empty your water glass… Service is always friendy, on occasion it may be «paced». Beer is always cold at happy hour. Fun place to relax and enjoy. Portions are very generous, you will not leave this place hungry.

Stay Away from this place! I went there on a lunch break and I ordered a taco salad. The salad was ok until I was halfway through and noticed the bottom of the tortilla shell was watery! It turned out that the idiot chef did not drain the pico de gallo from the spoon before tossing it in the salad! So needless to say the bottom of my salad look like a damn soup! To make matters worse the salad cost $ 10.95 about($ 11.99 with tax included total, no soda… just water). I gave him the stupid waiter $ 3 tip and put it all on my credit card. Days later I saw on my credit card statement the withdrawl of $ 21.00!!! The only thing that kept me from driving back to the restaurant and curse those fools out is the fact that my receipt was misplaced! Apparently this place make most of their money Fridays and Saturdays through their bar service. Who the hell are they to rip me off a few extra dollars. WATCHYOURCREDITCARDS… THEYWILLSTEALFROMYOU. I am originally from Arizona and as you can imagine love my Mexican food. Unfortunately since moving here I have yet to find any real authentic Mexican food and this place did not even come close to satisfying my cravings. While the service is good and the margaritas have alcohol the food is slightly above fast food quality with very little flavor. The chimichanga chicken was very dry and the guacamole lacked any significant flavor. If you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant this is not your spot.

I came here with a co-worker for lunch on cinco de mayo. The restaurant had an open tented area, which seems like it’d be nice for happy hour and the summer time. The inside was about half full(just starting to fill up for the lunchtime rush). The margaritas were very balanced and made with fresh ingredients. For lunch, I ordered the burrito/taco/enchilada combo. The burrito and enchiladas were very good, and the taco was your run of the mill taco. Our waiter was very quick to bring out drinks, but disappeared when our entrees came out. When we were done with our meals, a different waiter had to bring the check(15 min after taking the plates away). Overall, it’s definitely not the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to, but I’d consider going back for happy hour.

Being Mexican and being far away from home and it’s food is tough. I went to several Mexican restaurants here in NY but I went to this restaurant yesterday and I have mixed feelings about it… –Staff was friendly and spoke Spanish to us, since we were all native Spanish speakers(that was a plus!)… –The atmosphere of the place is just okay, the tables are unconfortable, would have preferred a booth, but that’s just me being picky. –The food is a bit pricey but for the amount of food that is served on your plate I guess that’s okay, the taste of it resembles a lot of what we have in a traditional Mexican home, since I am vegeterian, I ordered the Vegetarian Plate, because they do NOT have any other vegetarian options, not very pleased with that fact, there’s a lot of vegetarian variety in Mexican food, I don’t get why they don’t serve it! It was good though. Just good… –They do not have a nice variety of the regular restaurant drinks or the Mexican drinks(horchata, jamaica or tamarindo like the other restaurants), for example; if you ask for a lemonade, they’ll get you pink lemonade from the machine, forget the freshness! … However if you are willing to give it a try, go ahead! It’s a good place if you’re around the Long Island area, not my favorite though.

I have come here twice – they are generous with their portion sizes, and good about giving you extra salsa/chips. My boyfriend’s family has been coming to this location for years, so they know the servers, and it was nice to feel so welcomed into the restaurant. They make a good margarita – straight up, salt on the rim. Well balanced ingredients. I could happily go through multiple in one meal, but stuck to just one. Their other remarkable beverages include the Mexican coffee(also recommend this drink, especially as a closer to your meal). The menu is numbered, and most of the special combinations seem to come with the staples – beans, rice, heaps of cheese. I have tried both the number 6(that time I actually ordered the number 5…), and the number 7. I thought that both combos were good, and very filling. The thing is, I couldn’t really tell you the difference between the entrees I did try. Both had lots of spices, an enchilada, and one had a taco with filling that tasted similar to the enchilada. One also includes the chile rilleno, which has become a favorite Mexican dish of mine. I’m not sure about how authentic this place is, but the quality seemed fine, the price was moderate, and the experience was good. The bathroom is by the entrance, and pretty tiny. The restaurant features live music on weekends, and they decorated their exterior with pretty lights for the holiday season. In the summer, this place is more hoppin’, with an outside are that people can probably drink in after hours. All in all, a good Mexican restaurant.

I came here for cinco de mayo and though it was crowded, we didn’t have to wait too long for seating. It’s small inside with closely placed tables, which is a pet peeve of mine in a restaurant. We actually had a conversation with our neighbors about the margaritas. The food was awesome I ordered the chimichangas and took most of it home because the portion was so big. It came with rice and beans, which was also very good. I don’t remember what my boyfriend ordered but I remember happily eating some of it! They had drink specials for their margaritas and though small, they were tasty and well made. Service was a little slow, but maybe it’s because it was a holiday. They came around with colorful sombreros for everyone! It was a good time, and I still have my sombrero at home.

Bring a sweater it’s chilly in here. We ordered the cheese empanadas for an appetizer and they were so good… still thinking about them. My husband ordered the winning entrée Al Mariachi witch looked very fresh and tasty. Unfortunately I did not taste it since it was spicy. The bar tender played double duty when we were here and he was very nice and made an amazing margarita. The free salsa and chips were pretty good too. Definitely order off the Authentic Spanish menu you won’t be sorry.

If you’re looking for authentic food, this is not for you. If you’re looking for something delicious and cheesy(both literally and figuratively), this is an amazing choice. They had to shoo a mariachi band out of the way to make room for us when we walked in. The food was the just a little bit spicy, a little adventurous style of Mexican food adapted for Americans. Yes, the vegetables are probably from a can, but whatever, it was still tasty. The staff was great. They handled giant tables of antsy children with ease. It was only on the way out that I realized there’s a huge patio in the back with a bar and more music. I’m sure it’s full of bros on a weekend night, but when we walked through it wasn’t too crowded and made it pretty tempting to stay and get another round.
