Hard to review this one! As others have noted this place is kosher and mostly gross. For some reason my mother just loves this place so we went there for her birthday. I bothered to write a review because I was impressed that they brought out a piece of birthday cake with a candle without us even asking. The service is more attentive than they let on I guess? Good job Royal Dragon!

the restaurant was really very clean and the food was delicious — it is always great to find kosher restaurants like this away from home

Why is it Kosher has to almost always mean«terrible» or «tasteless»? Ordered Kung Pao Chicken from them. Not spicy as it should be, had watercrest in it(which is not even in ameriicanized kung pao) and had a weird taste to it. almost tasted musty, like a kitchen that hasnt been cleaned since the 60’s. WAY overpriced too. $ 18 for Kung Pao? give me a break! even for kosher. Bassicly, if you want good chinese, make it yourself, or consider buying unkosher

If one wants kosher Chinese food, one should purchase a wok and cook at home. We ordered Beef with Broccoli and Szechuan Chicken. There was so little heat in the supposed Szechuan dish that my wife, who can not do any spice at all, was able to(attempt to) eat it. We ended up having to throw both dishes out as they were basically inedible.

I took friends to this place because it was late and we did not feel like looking for another restaurant. Our only other choice was eating a six course meal with our fingers at the Indian place next door. The food was not good, though my friends said it was. I think they did not want to make me feel bad. The place was not clean. The carpet looked like it has not been cleaned for a while. With the word«Royal» in the name, I would have higher expectations of cleanliness. I would not go in there again.

I would not eat here again. The food made me physically ill. The meat they served tasted as if it had been sitting out a long time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Just because something is kosher doesn’t mean its going to be any better to comparable non-kosher establishments.

We dined there with Kosher observant friends. On the same evening, this establishment was donating a percentage of receipts to Hadassah and I commend this restaurant for its philanthropy. However, the food was awful… the prices were high and the portions were small. I do give some leeway due to kashrut(kosher), but with that caveat, this restaurant rates a 1 star. We are regular customers at Joe’s Noodle House and I have compared Royal Dragon to Joe’s Noodle House in this evaluation. Given the fact that Kosher establishments have a «captive audience», there is little reason for trying appeal to the broader community.

Love supporting Kosher restaurants for friends and family that keep Kosher. With that said, this is the WORSTCHINESERESTAURANT ever. Food is terrible. Service is worse. I will never eat at this place again. Enough said.

Older décor but decent food for a Kosher place. Nice staff

It was OK. The noodles and service were good. Went after the movies on Christmas Day. But was overpriced, not to mention that it was a weird fusion of Chinese and Jewish-American dishes. Strange not being able to eat shrimp or anything in a Chinese restaraunt. Probably won’t go back just because we have a better, non-kosher and less expensive restaraunt for Chinese closer to my house.

Food is good. Décor is old and shabby. Service is okay. I think the food is very reasonably priced especially for kosher food. I wish they would spruce the place up but the food is good and the service is usually fine.

Royal Dragon is a good Kosher Chinese/American Cuisine Restaurant in the Rockville, Maryland area. It has stood the test the time has it has remain virtually unchanged for many decades. I can not say to how authentic the food is, but the food is good and kosher. They have both Chinese and American dishes. They have a nice selection to choice from on their menu, ranging from classical dishes to house specialties. Royal Dragon is a nice place to met your family and/or friends and enjoy one’s company, and listen to Jewish music being played over the background.

First off, for those who don’t already know, this is a kosher Chinese restaurant.(Figured I should throw that out there!) The service was a bit on the slow side, but the restaurant has a very nice ambiance, white tableclothes and all. The food was good, but not spectacular. It was nice being able to start off with an eggroll and a cup of matzah ball soup, but unless you keep kosher or are dining with someone who keeps kosher, there’s no real reason to make this your destination. It’s certainly serviceable, and some things were good, but on the whole, it seemed merely decent, and there are plenty of Chinese restaurants in the area that surpass it.
