Ace Automotive offers wonderful service for reasonable prices! We have been bringing our cars to Brian and his team for over 25 years and we continue to be pleased with the quality of their work each and every time.

We own a full-​service plumbing company and when we need our vehicles serviced, we need them serviced quickly and efficiently!
The appointment was scheduled and I arrived at 7:30am.
By 9:30am, I had a confirmation of the diagnostics discussed, an estimate and a estimated time of completion (which was between 12/​1pm same day).
By 11:54am I was called to pick up our vehicle.
The service was impeccable, their communication was incredible and when we picked up the vehicle, we were thanked for the opportunity!
Thank you for taking one item off our plate and getting it done quickly and painlessly. As business owners we wear many hats… you made my day so much more pleasant and productive!

Always helpful and honest even if I just need some quick auto advice. Been a longtime customer and don’t plan on changing that. Also, everyone I’ve referred to A.C.E. has always had great things to say about their experience. Very professional shop, good people work here.

I always considered myself lucky when I had a doctor or a lawyer I could trust. But for the past seven years I’ve been even luckier than that — my wife and I have a car guy who is so competent, so considerate, and so honest that we trust him completely. We’ve had a number of cars which Brian has taken care of, one we were trying to wring the last mile out of, and others we wanted treated with kid-​gloves. I don’t know how he managed to keep one of them going when we were really up against it and he has kept our new cars running just like they did when we drove them home. Everyone at A.C.E. has been great. Brian and his crew have taken care of us and our family in emergency situations and even handled my mother-​in-​law with an amazing amount of compassion and understanding. Just a great shop owned by a great guy.

I came into the shop only because my jeep had died very close to this shop. I was previously at the jeep dealership looking to get my alternator replaced. Instead of helping me, the Jeep dealership said it would be 4 days before they could or would do anything to help. I was looking to drop my jeep off for service, snag a loaner and be on my way. Instead, they weren’t willing to help and knowing the alternator was bad and the battery would die, they sent me on my way. The battery died and for the best because I got to meet Brian and he helped me out tremendously with a super quick turnaround. He ordered the same quality alternator and I got my jeep back the very next day. I got the quality service, cheaper pricing and an honest overall feeling from Brian and his shop. I’m a new customer and I have already made plans on having Brian and ACE Auto perform a major service the next time I come in. Thanks Brian and ACE Automotive for your help! You guys are awesome!

I was struck on the day before Christmas Eve with a car problem I couldn’t ignore. Even though Brian was busy, he found a way to fit me in. The result was, at 4 pm, I picked up my car and everything was right again. I recommend Brian to all my friends.

Brian is very nice and extremely knowledgable. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else. He was recommended to me by my sister and has not come up short in anyway. His opinions are always honest and his information is always correct. This is truly an amazing repair shop. I would recommend ace to any and all of my friends and family. The work they have done on my cars has always been perfect and on time. If you’re looking for a wonderful local mechanic look no further.

It’s not that easy to find a mechanic you can trust. He doe his best to save me money while doing competent work. Can’t ask for more.

On an otherwise normal Monday, my car decided to throw the serpentine belt on my way to the store. I literally coasted into Brian’s parking lot just down the street. As luck would have it he was able to squeeze me in the next day and replace my belt and tensioner. As some others have said, the overall cost was more than I expected, but the job was done in a timely manner and with good parts and a pride in workmanship that is rarely seen. Brian called some very old and bulging coolant hoses to my attention as well, and because we replaced them I am less likely to be stranded at the side of the road. ACE is unique because they do not put the blinders on when doing a repair, they poke around a little and make sure your car is safe for the road. To top all of this off, they even gave me a ride to work and brought the car by when it was all finished. Talk about customer service!

I feel so blessed to have foun Ace Automotive 8 years ago. They take excellent care of the vehicles they service. They have fair prices and superior customer service. I could not be more pleased — know that I am not someone who generally gives a 5 out if 5 — it has to be really earned. Over the years, they have.

As someone who knows his way around a a car… and especially well around my car I was very happy to have taken my car to Brian. I did not have the equipment nor the time to do the work myself. He has excellent service and is very thorough at what he does.
The two low ratings he has gotten here are from people who are looking for low pricing. Any mechanic will be able and does shop for parts, some choose higher quality ones (as Brian does) and others choose to use budget or knock-​off parts that will lower any estimate. As far as his hourly rate, his is on-​par with any CERTIFIED mechanic, improvement and education on his behalf and his staff is an important part of what he offers. (Certificates clearly visible in office).
In short trust that Brian is looking out for you and your vehicle, if the price seems high ask him to explain why and perhaps there are other options available.

Most honest autoshop ive ever been to.
New years eve my trucks waterpump gave out and messed up a bunch of stuff within the cooling system. I had to wait for the holidays to be over to bring it anywhere. I called one shop and the guy didnt even ask me about the problem or even what type of vehicle i was driving, when i asked what could be the problem he just said we’ll figure it out just bring it in … That didnt make me want to use them. I called up Ace and spoke to lawrence who then handed me to brian. Brian is very nice asked me what the problem was .with out me asking, he started telling me some things could be the problem and the seriousness each problem could be, made an appointment with them that day but decided to bring it in a few hours early and he said it wasnt a problem hell look at it when he has open time.
I get a call the next day with not so good of news. Brian started listing off a bunch of things that were wrong with the cooling system which totaled to about $ 1,800. And that wasnt forsure the last of it, thats just what he could fin without pressure testing it .
So he gave me two options, i could either risk spending that kind of money, or looking into trading it in and getting a new car. He gave me some time to think and said to call him back once ive decided.
I came up with looking into just buying a brand new car, the dealer said theyd trade in my truck as a down payment but wanted to see the truck. I called up brian told him my idea to come get the truck trade it in if i qualify or if i dont ill just brig it back and have him fix it. He was all for it, his exact words were ‚” thats what i would do, dont get me wrong, i would love the work and to get paid, but i dont cheat people and id rather be honest «
After everything i ended up trading in my truck and got a brand new 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye … I came back to the shop to pay for their time and work on my truck and i showed Brian and lawrence my new car and they were like little school girls ooing and awwing over the new cars engine looking in every little hole and seeing all the new parts and fluid colors lol … Very good people. I reccomend them to anyone and if i ever have a problem, brians my man from now on

This is not a good place to go if you don’t know much about cars, you will be taken advantage of.
The labor cost is EXPENSIVE and the work is not done correctly the first time, you really have to push if you want a thorough job done. I will not be going back and cannot recommend it to others.

I went here as it was recommended by a few of my coworkers. Brian seems like an honest guy, but the business practices don’t seem too honest. Especially when I found out how much the parts actually cost. Can’t say much more than that.
First of all, I have not been to an auto shop that charges to diagnose the car, he wanted $ 110 just to READ THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. That is ridiculous.
I had two simple problems, power steering leak and radiator fans. I knew these were the problems and he still charged an hours labor to find them out.
He then quoted me about $ 1500 to fix everything. Right away I knew that was astronomical. He stated that the cost for the fans was $ 600 by itself. I was shocked at this and after looking it up online I could buy the part myself for between $ 100 — $ 200. I do not think auto shops should be trying to profit off selling parts, they are providing a service. It is unjust to mark up parts by hundreds of percent.
I told him not to do any work. I took my car to a mechanic my family and I have gone to for many years and was quoted only $ 650 to FIX EVERYTHING. How could there be this big of a discrepancy? They only charged me 2hrs of labor TOTAL. (Oh and also they only charge $ 80 per hour for labor, not $ 110)
I went to ACE with high hopes that I had found a decent mechanic in Sonoma County, but they were very disappointing. I basically threw away the $ 110, it was really stupid of me to agree to that. I should have gone with my gut feeling. I will never go back here.
It seems highly immoral to be charging these types of prices, especially when he specifically told me $ 600 for just the part.
If you are ON ANY TYPE OF A BUDGET, beware, do not go here.

I have been taking my cars to Brian Faulconer at ACE automotive since he first opened his shop and I can honestly tell you there is no one else I trust more with my car. It is really rare to find a mechanic who is honest and looks out for your best interest the way he does. Brian takes the time to fully explain things in a way everyone can understand and he patiently answers any questions you might have. He cares about his customers and has many loyal fans because he treats everyone with respect and professionalism. Brian and his team consistently go above and beyond to help their customers. I wish our community had more businesses like ACE automotive. We are lucky to have them. Thank you Brian and Co!

As someone new to California, I was referred to A.C.E. from another automotive shop that didn’t handle my type of car. I have since gone twice, and while the customer service I have received is very friendly, the price quotes I have received from this place are way too expensive.
For example, when I went to get an estimate for the brakes on my car, they were going to charge me nearly $ 1,000 to fix them. After taking my car to get a second opinion at another shop in Santa Rosa, I received an estimate less than half of that amount for similar work. In fact, nearly all the estimates I have received for my car were between $ 1,000 and $ 2,000.
I do not feel that they are dishonest here, and they seemed to do a very thorough inspection of my car and a good oil change, but I do feel their prices are a little outrageous. I will pay more for good service, but not that much more. I do not think I will be going back here, as my new mechanic offers the same quality service, but at prices with my budget and needs in mind.

I am a college student driving a ’99 Chrysler. Earlier this fall my battery died and my headlights started turning on and off by themselves at random points – even when no one was in the car and it was completely off. Took it to a dealer in Santa Rosa and they were NO help – «We can’t duplicate the problem so we can’t fix it” – and charged us $ 150 basically to tell us that the car is old. Thanks for nothing.
Took it to ACE and just after talking on the phone with Brian he already thought he knew what was wrong. Very nice to me, explained how things work (because I know nothing about cars) without being condescending and there was no vibe that he was trying to take advantage of a young college student who knows nothing about cars.
Tried replacing the headlight switch and it didn’t work. Ordered a new Body Control Module with the promise that if that didn’t fix the problem he wouldn’t charge us for it (since it is quite a pricey repair).
He got the part, installed it and monitored it for a full day to make sure the problem was resolved. Then I told him that I would be leaving the car for 3 weeks over winter break as I travel to SoCal and don’t trust the car to make it all that way. He said if it dies to jump it, bring it back, and he will charge it on his battery charger overnight at no cost to me.
Brian is a GREAT guy. Clearly is not trying to make the most money… he just wants to fix your car. Much better than the sketchy dealer.
