Windsor at Redwood Creek

I have lived here with my daughter for almost a year now and we love it, I just signed another lease today! It’s a great place to live! As a single mom I feel very safe! The apartments are big and have everything you need! The office staff is always friendly and helpful! The pool is great and the work out room is good! We couldn’t be happier

This is a lovely apartment complex aesthetically. The apartments are roomy and well maintained. It is also convenient for commuters, as the freeway is 3 minutes away. The rent is high, but you get what you pay for, for the most part. I must say that management did attempt to work with me on a rental increase that I was originally shocked by after only a year, so I hope to stay at this point.
The pool is the most beautiful I have ever seen at an apartment complex and they also have a great work-​out facility. It is conveniently located next to several shopping centers and right next to Costco, which is a big plus. I love the location!

I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and hospitality at the leasing office here. Denise has been nothing but rude to my roommate and I. I was having some issues paying my rent online and went to the leasing office the next day in seek of help. I explained to Denise my situation and before I even finished my sentence she said «Cashiers check or money order plus $ 50 dollar late fee.» I agreed to these terms and asked her if she could show me how to pay rent online because I was having difficulties. She responded «No, I have things to do.» When I asked her who her manager was she turned around stuck her hand up and walked out the door. I don’t know how Denise got a job in the customer service she needs to be fired.

This place looks nice from a distance… Totally over priced, not sure what is actually being maintained!?! We had friends come over and they were pretty appalled of how dirty the stairwell and corador is. We were a little embarrassed to say the least! Another thing is the garbage baskets are always full and smell so bad because they’ve sat for days with dog poop in them! It’s against the lease to smoke on balcony and close to buildings but everyday we have the terrible smell of smoke in our unit. And there is a problem with mold… So be aware! Can’t wait till our lease is up!

I have lived here for 3 years and a few months now. I Love my apartment & the amenities that the complex offers which include a small park for toddlers, dog park, community center with pool tables (& is available for rent for parties), business center & free DVD rentals at the office. Rent price is great for the Sequoia floor plan, 2bd/​2ba, water & garbage is cheaper then the previous complex I lived at.
**Now for the HUGE NEGATIVE side effects. In the 3 years that I have lived here the following has happened; my car has been broken into MULTIPLE TIMES– stereo has been stolen three of those times, License plate has been stolen, & just this week someone has broke into my car, this time with a SCREW DRIVER!!! I am going to have to get my car re-​keyed. Not only that they messed up my back window while breaking in another time.
The 2^nd car I have has been ATTEMPTED to be broken into, pushing down on the windows and checking all the doors to see if they are unlocked. I have made it known that these events have occurred & been advised to call the police. My neighbors have had windows broken, there was another car that was stolen, there was drug activity with a previous tenant all hours of the night & dont get me started on the homeless people that live on the creek path (that we no longer have access to) who frequently walk the property. My neighbors below moved in and within 3 weeks their bikes were stolen.
I called the police 3 weeks ago as I witnessed some people checking cars to see if they were opened & digging through the garbage @ 7:10a.m. These were the same people that the previous week i saw. I thought they were moving in as they looked as if they were ready to go play tennis, & baseball… it was a little early for «moving in» but I kept an eye on them & as I was leaving the property I noticed fishy behavior. Sure enough they were stealing from the complex.
With all this being said, We had an on property security guard for 2 weekends following the stolen cars. We have a drive through security guard who comes 3 times a night, once getting out, the other times driving through quickly. With all these occurrences I am looking to move. No extra security, No care for the tenants property (if it was their’s they would), This problem is out of control. For all the money they tenants pay, security should be better, property should be protected, & Yes, crime happens everywhere-​BUT NOT LIKE IT HAPPENS HERE!!!

Over priced, after your lease runs out you have to pay $ 2,200 for. 6 month lease or go month or month at $ 2,800. Never used the pool, gym or hot tub, or BBQ. Neighbors are a mix, l didn’t care for the pot smoking and cigarette smoke wafting through my apartment. Parking is ridiculous! No parking while SSU is in session. Pool over run with families and kids. No upgrades for the price. This complex should be at $ 1800 for 2bd 2 ba.

Geez… I don’t know where to start… maybe by telling you that rent is EXTREMELY HIGH at this property! I used to rent a 2bedroom, 1bathroom unit for $ 1745!!! + Renters insurance + Water and waste and + more… It was ridiculous! …and guess how much they wanted to charge me (monthly) if I renewed my lease? $ 2045! Crazy huh?
Now, let’s talk about the $ 500 deposit… No matter how clean and nice you leave the apartment, you’re NOT getting ANYTHING back! Somehow they find a way to keep EVERYTHING! Either by cleaning the carpet, painting, cleaning more, ect… It’s like if your PAYING a deposit fee… I seriously think that they take advantage of people.
The office staff… Hmmmmm…some days they were nice, cheerful, and happy… other times rude, with attitude, and not professional.
Quiet hours… hehehe this one is funny… EVERY UNIT needed to be quiet by 8:00pm.if you had music or if you were doing laundry after 8:00pm (because the walls are super thin), you were in some sort of violation of the lease code… crazy, but true… Oh and if you have kids, make sure to live on the first floor because if not, the neighbors downstairs might complain of the kids having «too much fun.»
Overall, this is a nice apartment complex, but NOT a nice comfortable place to live. If you’re thinking about moving to Windsor at Redwood Creek think twice because your deposit will disappear and your rent might be extremely high! …Good luck! I will NEVER live there again!

First and foremost, This is the NICEST complex you can live in for Rohnert Park. Management is excellent, they treat you very fairly, and are always willing to help.
Service:
From providing me with free after hour lock out service, to disregarding the angry old people whom complained when I had to walk across my apartment to go to the bathroom, or do laundry in the evening, They do nothing short of provide excellent service.
My move out process was great, I couldn’t find a good cleaning service to finish my move out clean, and they got it done for VERY CHEAP. They refunded me back almost all of my security deposit, I honestly got back much more than I was expecting (I was in college most of the time I lived here). Gina the complex manager is one of the greatest employees Windsor could have gotten, and she takes care of any of my requests that I’ve made.
Security:
They will take your packages for you when you aren’t home, which is GREAT because there are occasionally less desirable people who wander freely through the streets of Rohnert Park, looking to commit crimes. That being said, this is definitely the safest apartment complex you can live in. They have security patrols at night to keep you safe!
The only concern I had, which is easily overcome, is to ensure you SHREAD any important documents you recycle, many times, especially when I was moving out, there was a large volume of dumpster divers, (once they even took all my stuff out and littered it all over the garbage room). But I’m sure once management reads this review security patrol will be more vigilant about this problem.
Overall:
The people who lived below me could have easily ruined my experience, but management understands when people are being ridiculous and when there is really nothing you can do to make any less noise. I never had a single party, I never had more than 3 guests over, but the people downstairs were at constant odds against me, complaining at every corner. Windsor took both sides of the story into consideration and sided with me, at the end of the day I am a very satisfied customer, hopefully the people who lived before me stopped living in apartments and moved out to a shack in the woods where they belong.
IF YOU WORK AT THE GRATON CASINO LOOK NO FURTHER, YOU ARENT GOING TO GET ANY CLOSER THAN WINDSOR AT REDWOOD CREEK

I have lived here for 7 years and I love it! The management is friendly and knowledgeable, and the maintenance staff responds quickly to issues, and swiftly resolves them. The pool is divine, and my pug loves the beautiful new doggie park! You get what you pay for. Washer dryer in the apt, individual alarm systems, basketball court and a cute playground. I have called Windsor at Redwood Creek home for the past 7 years, and plan on staying!

Do NOT let these reviews fool you, they almost prevented me from even applying here, but I am so glad I did! All the negative reviews are from people who must not have read the 27-​page lease; it is clearly outlined, with prices, how much they will deduct from your security deposit for anything they have to do to the apartment to make it move-​in ready for the next person. Clean your apartment well when you move out, follow the rules and pay your rent on time (you have until the 3^rd of each month without penalty) and you will be fine. We have lived here for 2 months now and have had nothing but a positive experience.
That being said, I definitely appreciate the fact that my apartment was immaculate upon move in, with brand new carpet. The kitchen appliances are a bit older, but they were so clean, they look brand new. In fact, the whole apartment looked brand new. I have seen apartments with new, stainless steel appliances, so I’m guessing they update as needed.
These apartments are fairly priced too. We pay $ 1740/​month, including the $ 35 pet rent, for a 2 bed, 1 bath apartment. Considering the area, location and all the amenities you get, we feel this is fair. We saw comparable apartments, but with less amenities and worse location for about the same price. The amenities here are great! There’s a large pool and hot tub with lots of new chairs, grills (you cannot have one on your patio, so it’s nice they are provided), playground, walking trail, 24-​hour gym, basketball court, clubhouse (which closes when they office does), DVD rentals, 24-​hour computer center, a dog park and plenty of pet waste stations (please make use of these!). The landscaping is also beautiful and grounds keep is out every single day maintaining the property. Keep in mind that when you complain about rent being too high that you are paying for these amenities as well.
I have not had any issues so far with management; I have dealt primarily with Jessica in the leasing office, so I cannot speak much of any other staff members, but she is wonderful! We moved here from Iowa and she made everything a breeze for us and she is very prompt in answering emails. She is just as nice to us now as residents as she was when we were just prospective residents, which is much appreciated! I emailed Gina through the portal and she responded within 20 minutes at night on Memorial Day! That is excellent service. A+ for both of these ladies.
Location of these apartments is wonderful and everything you could need is literally across the street. There’s a grocery store, chain-​restaurants (Applebees, Olive Garden, Red Lobster), fast food, Starbucks, Target, a movie theater, and tons more. GREAT!
This place feels like home and everyone is so nice and says hello as you are passing by. My puppy loves it here too and it feels safe, even at night, as the place is very well-​lit and across from the police station. Highly recommend living here and we feel very lucky to have gotten our apartment.

You WILL NOT get your deposit back no matter how well you clean. The minimum charges in any category (cleaning, paint, carpet) are MANDATORY. You are not paying a deposit. You are paying a non refundable cleaning fee.

I’ve literally moved every year from San Luis Obispo to, now, Santa Rosa. This was probably the best experience I’ve had as a renter so far.
We rented the Cypress floor plan (1 bed/​1 bath) of 790 sq. ft. for $ 1,410 plus the monthly pet rent of $ 35, so $ 1445 total. NOT BAD!!, we had previously moved from Petaluma’s Theater Square Apartments of $ 1,600/month.
MANAGEMENT:
From day one of signing the lease, it was fast and easy with no problems. I mostly saw Megan and Jessica and these two ladies are fantastic. Along with the whole management team, they are on top of their stuff. (I’ve visited other apartment properties and found myself more friendly and organized than the staff there, which is not a good sign…)
When we needed any assistance with the apartment or lease, maintenance was on it anywhere from a couple of hours to 24 hours, and it was usually nothing major that we needed fixed. Also, towards the end of the lease, we had a mix-​up with the last payment upon moving out, and the whole management team apologized for the typo on the paper, waived the $ 50 late fee, and allowed us some time to make the payment through their portal (which is usually via cashier’s check or money order).
I’ve never seen any management team actually give back to the community like them. They really do make improvements to the complex and set up some community events. Communication was excellent via e-​mail and through the online portal that we used to pay rent and send in our maintenance requests.
AMENITIES:
–2 dogs up to 100 lbs can stay there ($ 35 per pet per month)
−24÷7 fitness center that we definitely made use of!
–Nice pool and lounge area
–They just put in a dog park area that is fenced in and separates the larger dogs from the smaller dogs. This is actually a luxury and we really enjoyed having that.
–Alarm system in the house — AWESOME!
LOCATION:
–You’re right across from major stores like Target and FoodMax and other nearby stores like Costco and Home Depot.
–Super close to the freeway for commuting north/​south 101
–Next to the new casino if you like to gamble
–Right next to the police station
**The only ‘negatives’ I’d have to mention to make this a fair review was the garbage disposal. It would break down on us a couple of times in the beginning of our stay, and it took us that many times to realize it was just sensitive (not that we shoved tons of food down the drain). AS A TIP FOR THE NEXT RENTER, you should do some light up-​keeping of the place. Like, vacuum, clean the bathroom… We always cleaned our apartment on the weekends and not only had it helped us before moving out, but we had less wear and tear to clean/​prevent.
Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to live in between Santa Rosa and Petaluma. They are friendly, professional and take pride in the community built there. I feel like most people that come on Unilocal to rate apartments are only writing the negatives, and trust me, I’ve seen some people come in to the offices crying and disputing their rent. The thing is, EVERY apartment complex goes up in rent every year, and once a renter signs a lease, it is your responsibility to honor your part of the contract and pay on time — simple. If the property is honoring their part of the agreement, so should you.

Nice apartment, nice location but has turned in to a mecca for poorly behaved dogs and a very inept management style. Dogs barking from all areas at all times of the day and night… wouldn’t recommend unless you have a barking dog!

Overpriced apartments for what you get. My kitchen sink would clog up and overflow nearly every week and it took the apartment complex nearly two months to fix. For $ 1700/​month, the quality of the apartment and the subsequent response to service requests was totally unacceptable.
The apartment complex office is also terrible with forwarding mail, so beware of any outstanding bills they did not tell you about or forward to your new address after vacating the apartment. They are also terrible with getting your security deposit back.
Overall, I’d give one star for the location and relative safety of the apartment complex, but there are better options in Rohnert Park for the money this place charges to rent.

These apartments are in a league of their own! Between Mountain Shadows and Redwood Creek, I would argue that the location of Redwood Creek is far better! Its right across the street from Target, movie theater and the 101…
As for the quality of the apartments… They are beautiful — and my guests were always really impressed with the inside… Management is always approachable and available… Fortunately I never encountered any maintainence issues, so Im not too sure how responsive they are :/​
Overall, a great place to enjoy a part of your life in Rohnert Park, CA!
