Peninsula Center Library

I’m not going anywhere else but here for future passport services. I’ve been serviced by Room C, I should have asked the gentleman’s name, but he was really polite, kind, experienced professional. Straight to the fact and very informative! Loved how everything went, and the whole process only took 15 minutes! Definitely referring all my friends, family, and coworkers here!!!

Such a nice place to come read books or study or get some work done. There’s tons of open tables and seating and rooms available. Also free wifi! Parking can be limited since there’s a few spots in the garage but there’s plenty of street parking.

This is a very clean and efficient library. I came here after school every day from 9^th to 12^th grade. They feature some intriguing books. Earlier this week, I borrowed a copy of a book called The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism and the Garden Movement, edited by Anna O. Marley. On Friday, I bought 5 books from the book sale: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Gates of November by Chaim Potok, The Beautiful American by Jeanne Mackin, On Rue Tatin: Living and Cooking in a French Town by Susan Herrmann Loomis, and The Diaries of Sofia Tolstoy, translated by Cathy Porter. These will provide immense satisfaction when I indulge in them. Another pro is the passport office. I am not aware of another library that offers this feature. A very comforting detail to know that a library is that progressive. Come on in!

Beautiful library with great view! The staff and the people of the community however look down at others that are not the same race. I felt very unwanted as I walked in and was stared down upon by the other people already in the library. I do not see myself coming back. It feels horrible to not feel welcomed. It’s want is inside that matters the most.

My boyfriend and I came to get our passports done on a Tuesday about 3pm. The post office was rude and told us to go here because they were not taking anymore passports that day. I’m so glad we came to the Peninsula Center Library! The lady Joyce G. helped us at the passport center. She was so friendly and nice. There was no waiting, except for us to fill out our forms. We got our pictures taken and everything was done within an hour. I will be telling people about getting their passports there in the future! Thank you for having such a wonderful staff and facility!

I doubt you will have a better experience at another public library. Super clean, well informed staff, and a great selection of books, DVD’s, CD’s, magazines, and any resources you might want out of a library. They have 20+ sit down computer terminals, with ‘fast enough’ computers and internet connections.
For younger readers, 2 – 8, they have a great kids section. They do special readings, and often bring in youth oriented entertainment, check the library calendar via the internet to understand what their calendar is.
Another benefit is that they have the Peninsula Center Library — Passport office. I suggest making an appointment by phone a few days before. My experience was professional and friendly, both on the phone and in person. Just listen to what is required/​requested for your in person meeting and you will also have a good experience.

The employee gave me very precise instructions when I called so when I went to the appointment I had everything ready.

I love this library. It’s in a good area, lots of space, and nice people. It’s a good place to come and study or work on group projects when u deserve a room.

Absolute favorite library. Ive been coming here since probably 2000. Just paid a very visit this week for the first time in a couple years. Glad to see some things never change. Clean, beaitiful, spacious, good computer area, friendly staff. Love that they have an upstairs area. Checked out 50 shades of grey ;) and a Deepak Chopra book.

This library, by far is one of the best libraries in the area. I live in Torrance, so it’s somewhat of a drive to get there, but it never disappoints! They let you bring food in as long as you’re not on the computers, which is nice when I want to eat snacks while I study. I basically lived here on the weekends in high school, and now that I’m in college, I don’t come here as often. I came here this past weekend to study with my friend, and it’s just as I remembered. We checked out a study room, which is a nice option of theirs, but the only bad thing is that if you want really quiet study, the study room might not be a good option for you since the walls are not very soundproof. If you want to talk to your friends and don’t mind being able to hear your neighbors then the study room would be a good choice for you. My friend and I wanted quiet study time since I didn’t bring my earphones either, so we ventured to the cubicles where there were many empty seats and was really open and quiet. Another aspect of this library that I really like is how clean it is. The bathroom, especially, is well maintained and cleaned. Usually, I like to study on the main floor but there are many other study areas such as the tables near the vending machines and some chairs on the floor above.

The library is great but I love the used book store even more! The novels for teens are 2 for $ 1! I got over 8 books or $ 4! That’s such a great deal. All the books are in such great shape!

I’ve been coming to this library ever since middle school. This is always a perfect place to come study. During certain days they have a movie playing and child reading time.
I love going to libraries and i always feel safe at this library. There is also an upstairs where there are more books. Also, don’t forget to check out the garage for their mini book sales!
Also, usually on the weekdays around 3 it can get a bit noisy because of all the high schoolers coming in to «study». Sort of.

My grandma runs the book sale here! They always have an excellent selection of children’s books, $ 2 DVDs and boxes of magazines for $ 5! Check them out today and say hi to my Grandma Nellie!!!

Great library and has storytime 6 days a week!!! and it is great! and has a play area!

I brought my elderly client here so that she can get stuff from the book sale. This was our first time here and we didn’t know where to go so I asked an employee and she looked at me right in my eyes didn’t answer my question walked passed me and went to go ask someone else if they had a question. WOW now I’m black and the other customer was Japanese. My client is white and I cannot tell you how many white people stopped her and asked if she was ok as if I was kidnapping her. This place really needs some diversity because this is ridiculous. Not to mention they followed me around in the book sale. The books are 50 cents to a dollar REALLY what would I steal

It’s a big library and kids friendly. The first floor is a study room and upstairs is a quiet area.
They have the various selections for movies.

I’m moved away from Palos Verdes, but this is still the best library in all of Los Angeles in my opinion. Being situated in an affluent community definitely has its perks when it comes to the quality and selection of books available to borrow and to buy in their book sales. Every time I come here its like taking a trip down memory lane to all the years I spent studying here with my friends in middle and high school.
Big spacious, and easily surpasses several University libraries I have studied at.

This place is fantastic!
I came here pretty religiously for the tail end of my board studying and I have to say that I greatly appreciated the designated «no talking» zone upstairs… The whole reason I came up here instead of staying in Torrance is because I grew tired of constantly having to wear earplugs in the Torrance library due to excessive noise. For the most part, people here are very respectful… You will occasionally hear wrappers crinkling from someone tearing open a snack, but that’s about it. Otherwise, just the regular ‘olé pages flipping and laptop keys clicking – sounds of productivity! :)
I studied at the carrels, each of which has its own overhead light. However, they also have a row of red armchairs in front of floor-​to-​ceiling windows; I would definitely opt for those if I were just coming here for some leisurely reading (I love me some natural light!). I sat down on one once and noticed there was an outlet nearby, so that’s convenient too.
TL; DR: clean, bright, air-​conditioned library that has a designated quiet area upstairs. Upstairs area houses carrels with multiple power outlets (ideal for studying), and more comfortable armchairs for leisurely reading.

This is probably one of the best libraries I’ve ever been to!
Not only do they have a wide selection of books, DVDs/​CDs, magazines, etc, but they also have great resources for studying! Just go to the second floor, and there’s plenty of individual quiet study desks and even comfortable chairs. If you wish to do group studying, there’s study rooms on the first floor. Everything is clean, bright, well-​conditioned, and the hours are great. And I believe food is allowed!
I’m planning to do all my board studying here! :)

Great Library!
The main thing I love about this library is that they have a great used/​donated bookstore downstairs just off the parking lot. You can really find some treasures down there. …Everything from books onto VHS, DVD, CDs, and vinyl. Great place to look around!
They also have a passport office inside the building where you can get your passport renewed.
