Tried Chandos tacos about 7 times and finally decided to leave a review. I’ve been to all of their restaurants in Sacramento area and the new one that just opened In Roseville. 1)I rate their food at 4 – 4.5 stars. 2)Price wise at 2 stars and that’s because their tacos are very small yet very pricey at $ 1.99 «their tacos should be $.99» 3)The staff including the cashier are not friendly and I give them 1 – 2 stars for that. Chandos please instruct your workers how to be friendly and lower your prices on the tacos and you’ll have a repeat customer for a long time.

Just fantastic Tacos. This was my first time. My wife was a little concerned about the line, but we figured with so many people it must be worth the wait. Well, it was definitely worth the wait. My wife had grilled fish and I had carnitas. Wow! We ordered one of their shrimp tacos to share. Fantastic. Friendly and knowledgable help. If you like old-school street tacos, this is the place.

Don’t know how they marinade their chicken, but it is the absolute best! Have been here about a dozen times first time I’ve decided to write a review. I’ve tried several Taqueria’s since moving to the Rocklin area, and none of them compare to Chandos! Try their chicken tacos and get a chicken burrito to go for the next day you won’t be disappointed. Friendly staff awesome chicken!

This place is always busy with hungry mouths to feed! I first heard about this place from the mobile food trucks they have out visiting various cities… but I never had the chance to try this place until now! I ordered a Carne asada & Adobada taco and a chicken quesadilla. My god the chicken quesadilla was amazing! It was filled with cilantro, Pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and the chicken was grilled to perfection… it was not your ordinary quesadilla. The tacos were a bit different from what I’ve had before. The Carne asada was well marinated good lean pieces of steak with cilantro & onions. The adobada was a bit dry. well marinated… but had lots of paprika and fat pieces at certain times when I ordered it. I liked the Carne asada better. PROS: great quesadilla(especially with chicken), Carne asada tacos(highly recommend) CONS: The salsa bar is lacking. You have to ask for the salsa cups at the register to control the amount of salsa going out. They really don’t have an extensive salsa bar and their radish slices that’s located in the salsa bar tastes like it’s been soaking in SOAP! The chips are NOT included there’s a charge. It’s a bit stuffy & hot inside at times. Although, I need to try their burritos next time… overall the food I’ve tried so far was tasty and good.

I first went to the location in the Arden Area then came here too. I came here to take my friend out for her birthday :) I love this location! I love the food here!!! We ordered 1 chicken nachos, 1 chicken quesadilla, 2 chicken tacos &2 chicken tostadas !! I loved everything we ordered :) the service is great and our food came out pretty quick. I love the food quality for both locations. I will definitely come back here to even get take out but I love dining in. I feel that family/friendly/chill environment. This is my new #1 Mexican spot in Sacramento! If I’m in this area and I’m craving Mexican food I’ll go here and if I’m in the Arden area then I’ll get it out there too! I love love love MEXICANFOOD and coming here makes me happy, haha. I’ll try their other foodie on the menu too! Coming back for sure :)

HANDSDOWNBESTMEXICANPLACE I’VEBEENTO! **and I’m from Socal, and have tried a variety of Mexican places in SD too! this particular location makes it worth too because it has a good amount of seating, is clean, and fairly new compared to the other locations. Their flavor and portions are well worth the price! at $ 2 a taco it can seem expensive, but thinking about other mexican places that sounds about right. Recommendations: the torta, mullita, and churros! can’t go wrong with that combination! The quality of their food, especially the torta, doesn’t compare. I’ve had some tortas before but aren’t as crispy and buttery and as tasty as the one at Chando’s!

Love their mulitas and quesadillas the long lines and Waite is always worth it. I just wish they had aguas frescas like horchata and jamica, other then that the foods always on point.

Oh Chandos, mi amor, if you did delivery I fear I would never leave the house with a life of wasting away at home, counting the hours to the next meal and draining my bank account until I died a fat, bankrupt hermit. They would find me on the floor covered in a sea of your empty salsa stained take-out boxes… If you read my other taqueria reviews from around northern CA, you would see how picky I am about Mexican food. I really love the food here. From the chicken tacos to the Carne asada burrito, carne asada torta, quesodillas, to even the nachos which are like a modern hybrid of old movie theater nachos(they use the pour on creamy fake cheese)…all spectacular. They do a great job marinating and seasoning their meats and this really stands out in their dishes. Of the multiple times I have eaten here, I only had one issue with a Carne asada burrito– seems I got an exceptionally fatty, gristley piece of steak with more than half of the burrito hard to chew(had to spit it out), but that was 1 out of 15 burritos I have had there. Even their truck produces quality food just like the restaurant. I have gotten spoiled using their app. it is hit and miss though. The app will make you project like an our to an hour 15 minute future pick up time. one time I got there the food was done 30 minutes before the app said it would be(I walked in and it was sitting there ready). another time it was 15 minutes after the app said it would be ready… can’t ever go here during lunch time, but to their credit, they get that line moving quick and get the food out. you may not get a place to sit, but take it to go and you are set. Oh, and the reviewer who talked about tipping the cooks? There is a tip jar at the register for the non-cooks, and a separate jar for the cooks. with so many eml, oyees, maybe they don’t want to split the tips? I disagree with you 3 star folks. If you know of a better casual taqueria in a 20 mile radius, please name it. I have eaten at a lot of places in San Jose, Oakland, SF, Sonoma and Marin counties, Napa, etc. over the last 40 years, and this is the BEST all around Taqueria I have been to!!!

This place doesnt need another 5 star review, as it sorta has a big head with long lunch lines and all… and a sign that asks diners to Tip the«chef ONLY». Strange. Most restaurants think this business type requires team work. But I digress. To be fair, I have only tried their tacos, mostly because the name of the place is Chandos Tacos, not Chandos burritos, etc. I do like their tacos. The meat is grilled, fresh, and come with a quarter of a lime wedge and a slice of radish on a tortilla. Is this a secret recipe of some sort? Good, yes. Special gourmet treat, no. I will definately be back, but definately would not wait in a 15 – 20 minute line for these Tacos. I hope to try something else soon, and update this review. Hopefully a dish that is special enough to warrant a 20 minute wait and a tip to the grill guys, er, I mean Chefs. Only.

I’ve heard people talk about how good Chandos is and honestly I thought what could be so good about tacos that I haven’t had before but let me tell you I was wrong their meat is so deliciously seasoned and everything My husband and I tried was beyond delicious I definitely give them a five star for sure

Chandos is a very good place for Mexican food. The tacos are outstanding and make sure you get all the different salsas they provide. Each one is unique in their own way. My favorite is the red salsa which was the spiciest. Perfect to pour over your tacos and don’t forget to drizzle it with lime before you dive into it. On the left, hand the carne asada taco and on the right hand, the pickled jalapeño. First take a small or a large bite of the jalapeño, then take a bite of the carne asada taco. Man, you can’t get any better than that. The flavor of the grilled carne asada along with the salsa, lime, and the jalapeño is fireworks in my mouth making you want more.(That’s why I ordered six.) my ears start to ring and beads of sweat start to roll off my forehead. Can you picture it? Now the next victim, the mulita. I take the mulita’s and dip it into the mild green sauce and the hot chipotle sauce causing a different flavor profile of spiciness. It actually felt like I was drooling and my nose running bc my whole head is on fire but I didn’t care. I’m the spice devil and I love it. After that washed it down with an icy Barq’s root beer and I’m sitting a happy cat in a pool of my own sweat smiling. Aaaaaaahhhh!

No extra charge for guacamole = quite possibly my favorite street tacos of all time. I’m so happy for their success! I wouldn’t worry if the line looks long because they are so fast. The freshness, flavor, and price are all well worth the wait. We ordered 5 tacos, chips, salsa, and a drink for under $ 15. My favorites are the fish tacos and asada tacos on butter lettuce. The restaurant itself was vibrant and well-maintained. The pictures hanging on the walls made me want to go back in line to order the whole menu. Can’t wait to visit again!

Me amo chandos! I used to frequent the street side location on Arden way and thank the Dios they finally opened up a location closer to my casa. The street tacos are bomb, the mulita’s are bomb, the torta is bomb. Now, for the carb counting cookoos like me, they have tacos wrapped in butter lettuce too. Forget running for the border, I’m hitting up Chandos. Si se puede!

I have been a big fan of Chando’s for a few years, and this location did not disappoint. Came here last night before a car meet for some grub that was better quality than Sonic. Service was not the quickest, but the food was, as always, unbelievably delicious. I had a Carnitas Mulitas and the Chicken Flautas. If you have never been here, make sure to try the carnitas! All the meats I’ve tried here are fantastic but the carnitas really take the cake. Amazing flavor and so tender. The flautas here were better than the ones I experienced at their Arden location! I find the Arden’s chicken in them to be a little on the peppery side. This location had great flavors and the crunch was absolutely perfect. There is also a salsa bar here, but no horchata, which I was somewhat disappointed about. Food makes up for it though! I think I may be coming back here whenever my boyfriend has the craving for Sonic!

First off let me say this my brother told me about this little gem a couple days before New Years, I wish I would’ve known well in advance so I could’ve thoroughly enjoyed my Mexican food fix prior to setting new year resolutions with that noted let’s talk about the SOGOOD! When you walk in its kind of the hole in wall feel, you order at the window the menu is on a chalkboard, they have a variety of food to choose from burritos, quesadillas, nachos… the meat choices are endless you name it they got it! My sister & I split chicken street tacos & the chicken nachos… they don’t skimp on portions that’s for sure! The tacos had plenty of meat & flavor, the nachos were my fav! They don’t use shredded cheese but I actually prefer nacho cheese so I was in pure heaven & they top it off with guacamole! I did notice that if you want beans on your food extra charge lucky for me I don’t like beans. The not so good… chips & salsa are extra?! Like for real?! That kinda bummed me out. And the prices are well matched with portions but the type of dining in terms of «hole in the wall» dining it’s a little high plus the no chips/salsa. The tables could’ve been a little cleaner as well! With that said m-will I be back? Heck yes! Definitely a place to get my Mexican food fix… or I should say nacho fix & just keep it real ;-)

Yay, I finally got to check this place out! Located inside a strip mall housing multiple great food spots, parking can be a pain. Chando’s itself is pretty darn small, tables and the limited counter space can disappear quickly. If your in a large party have somebody snag a seat when you come in. So if you can find parking and a place to sit you are in for a treat. Chando’s serves up some fresh affordable Mex. We had the Taco platter and nachos and everything was delicious. The nachos were especially tasty. My favorite taco was made with Chando’s signature meat Adobo? a marinated red pork with a bit of a soy flavor. I can’t wait to come back and try some more food :)

Hubby says every time he comes here there is a line out the door and the burrito he had was decent. So I asked him to take me, and sure as sh*t, there was a line out the door. Which is a good first sign in my book. There is a menu board by the cashier which is ok I guess, but if you have never been there before and the line starts out the door, very hard to be ready to order once you get to the front because there are no other menus to look at. So yeah, I got to the front and still had no idea what I wanted after waiting almost 30 mins to order. I decided to keep it simple and ordered a quesadilla packed with chicken. The order came out pretty fast after we ordered. We got lucky and found a spot to sit. The presentation was simple and appealing for the price. The first few bites were REALLY good! Wow! I ALMOST see why people wait a crazy amount of time for their food. But then, I realized the bottom of my plate was getting soaked with oil, sauce, cheese… etc. yuck! Lol. I had one good quesadilla and the others drowned and suffocated in their own sauce. waaaayyyyyy too much sauce! Less can be better! The meat was well seasoned it didn’t need all that drenching sauce. I was left with a soaked and soggy quesadilla. I also forgot to mention they have a bag of chips by the cashier you can purchase for like a $ 1.00. But they are not siting on or under a heater or anything. I don’t know about you, but I’m not a fan of cold chips. I would go again only if I didn’t have to wait in that crazy line. And I would probably order tacos or something simpler that can’t be ruined with sauce. But then again, if I really wanted good and quick Mexican food, I would rather got to Adalbertos.

I came to Chandos one Sunday evening for a quick dinner to pick up and bring back home. I was craving Mexican food and hadn’t had a chance to visit this Chandos location yet, so I crossed my fingers that the line wasn’t insurmountable and headed over. Surprisingly there was no line at all and barely any tables filled. Yay! (I went here once before for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and the line was to the door with no free tables) I ordered two of their Tacos de Papa(potato tacos) and an order of Chips and Salsa. For Vegetarians, you can either get the Tacos de Papa, or substitute meat for their pepper/onion/mushroom mix on any menu item. Since I’m not a big fan of that, I chose the tacos. Side note: Why aren’t there any beans available?! I LOVE refried and whole beans and they’re great for Vegetarian options. So what gives? Prices were reasonable/cheap, staff was friendly and my tacos were out quickly and I was on my way. I liked the Chips and Salsa(especially if you take some of the salsa from the salsa bar too) because both the chips and the salsa tasted fresh. The tacos were good(nice and crispy) but the potatoes could have used some seasoning because they were rather bland. I liked the lettuce and white/red sauce that came with, but the tacos could have used less potato and more of that stuff instead to make it less plain. I would come back if someone wanted to go, but I wouldn’t crave it or seek it out. I think their meat is probably great(hence the high reviews) but for Vegetarians, it kind of falls flat and there are better options.

Delicious! After dining here three times I am finally ready to write my review, one word… mulitas! I’ve never heard of mulitas before and was recommended by my co-worker. Drove here one time during my lunch hour at work and tried the asada mulitas and it was delicious! It is made by layering jack cheese and your choice of meat between two corn tortillas. I had asked for everything in it. fresh cilantro, creamy guacamole and tangy salsa for an instant flavor explosion. I opted to hold the onions. My daughter loves it too! I have also tried the asada quesadillas. Steak sandwiched between a giant flour tortilla that is grilled to perfection with creamy melted jack and cheese and topped with pico-de-gallo, guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Tasty and delicious! The order line is towards the back and they call your name when your food is ready and you pick up at the other end of the counter. The restaurant has a maximum capacity of 58 and one time it seemed like there was that much people in there. This place is always full of patrons during my visits but there was one time where I came at a perfect time and there was only two other customers. I was able to get my order quickly and enjoyed my meal. The place was kept clean and the staff behind the counter were nice. Those mulitas will keep me coming back!

Come on! When you’ve got a food truck doing so good, they get their own restaurant, you know you’ve got to have a bite! Came in here because I am a freakin food truck lover! I have heard nothing but AMAZING things about thid truck, and come on… amazing reviews is another major plus. Ok, ok… so, I came in here and there was a small line. Their menu is in the wall and shows the items you can get– Taco’s Burritos Nachos Quesadillas… and more. You get to pick a meat next after decide the kind of own you want. Yes, there is a kids menu! We picked Carnitas tacos and a chicken quesadilla. Got a few Pacifico beers. It doesn’t come with chips, they cost a little extra, but after you order, you can go to the salsa bar behind you to gather… well… salsas, cilantro, onions, and limes. The inside of Chando’s is small for seating, but there are a few tables outside and we were lucky to snag one of those. We only waited about 5 minutes before the food was ready. So, for $ 6.99 you get 3 small taco’s decked out and the carnitas in them were juicy, not salty at all. When we ordered, they had said, «all carnitas?» Seems like you can do more than just carnitas. Yay! The quesadilla was beautifully cooked. Great color on the tortilla, perfect smell to the way it was cooked and… the chicken, I think, had some spice to it! Super satisfied! You will also definitely see me at your next food truck event in line! Thanks Chandos!
