I love this restaraunt. The food is most excellent! A little slow on bringing out the chips but worth the wait!!!

Best micheladas I’ve ever had! So good it’s almost unreal… the huevos rancheros reminded me of my grandmas!

Sorry, have never had a ggod experience with the order staff there. They seemed irritable having to take our orders. Not once, but three different times. No more. Los Cabos is better.

Have eaten here for years and enjoy the food but today for the first time ordered«to go». Same price for the meal but they don’t include the salad and no chips and salsa. If you want chips and salsa they charge an additional $ 5.75. I say order for in, enjoy your chips and salsa while waiting(took 20 minutes to get my one item combo plate) then ask for a «to go» box!

We went to El Azteca last week and enjoyed it. I always see people at taquerias with a big glass(like an oversized margarita glass) filled with salsa and shrimp, and so I decided to give that a go and tried their«coctel de camarones»(shrimp cocktail for you Gringos) and it was amazing. It was a huge glass filled with salsa, shrimp, and it was topped with chunks of avocado. I ate it with a few tortilla chips, and it was so delicious. The perfect light meal on a hot evening. I can’t wait to eat it again. A little pricey, but it’s Roseville. Fun atmosphere with a full bar– I don’t see too many taquerias with more than a beer and wine license, so this is a cool place to have a margarita. Place is clean and service was quick. Overall a good experience.

The food was okay and they made it fast but the service was terrible. The waitress didn’t deserve a dollar for a tip let alone the whopping 18% tip that they added to my tab without my knowledge. I complained to the woman who was at the register and she didn’t seem to care. Check your receipt before you leave because they overcharged me for one of my combo items. I’m never going back there again!

I love this place. I’ve had several things here and they are all excellent, especially the Carnitas. The only criticism I have is that I think they are a little understaffed at the lunch hour. Still… It’s 5 stars.

I’ve tried this place a few times now and the food and service are consistently disappointing. Probably won’t be back again.

Been coming here for a few years now. Great food. My favorites: California style adobada burrito Asada tacos Ceviche Horchata Fresh chips and salsa The service is just fine. Some staff are nicer than others. I have never experienced bad or rude customer service. Friday nights get packed since they have a live mariachi band during happy hour, so if you dont feel like waiting, get food to-go. Dont worry about waiting in the long line to get your food, walk up to the front near the kitchen and there is staff that will ask if you are picking up food.

The food here is amazing. The service can be a little slow at times and the line moves slow but what they lack in service they make up in killer food and a cool ambiance.

This used to be THE place to go to in West Roseville. The service and quality of food have gone downhill over the last 5 years. I have finally given up after paying $ 20 for 2 breakfast burritos. No flavor– huge disappointment. Regular plates of food are bland, overpriced, and small portions. I hope one day the quality and service will return.

2 stars for the over salted food. +1 for the ambiance, bar and friendly staff. I was very disappointed by how over-salted the rice & beans were. I mean over the top. It overwhelmed my taste buds for the enchiladas I had. I think it would have been a fantastic meal and experience if they used the flavor of the food instead of relying on salt. The place is very nice otherwise; big, clean & friendly workers, and big portions as one would expect from a place like this. Has the looks of a stereotypical US Mexican restaurant, and a full bar that makes excellent(though very expensive) margaritas. I hesitate to come back for another try, unless someone tells me maybe I hit an off night for the kitchen?

Love this place, hate this place… Their chorizo & eggs is the best breakfast plate in the entire Sac Valley… Yet the portion size is never the same on consecutive visits. The carnitas dinner is the best pork dish I’ve ever had… But could the dinner maybe arrive… AFTER the chips n salsa? Since when did chips start taking 20 minutes to bake? Mariachi on Fridays = awesome; 45 minutes for a taco & water = not so awesome And seriously, do the owners have a rule about their servers not being allowed to smile? Great food, whack service.

Bland, Messy, and Overpriced I’m not sure if this place is not what it used to be or if my standards have escalated since that last time I’ve been there but I was highly disappointed today. All I ordered was a shrimp burrito. Mind you, I am well aware of and prepare to pay the $ 11.38(with tax) for a shrimp burrito but I expect my needs to be met. It was impossible to hold and actually eat it as a burrito because of the flimsy, paper thin. see-through tortilla. The couple attempts of holding it up to bite it got me a slight burn on my finger from the steaming sauce pouring out of the opposite end, with that I resorted to a fork to continue eating. From the looks of it, it seemed like the contents were previously mixed in a bowl then thrown on a tortilla and quickly wrapped. It tasted nothing like I had hoped it would, I wouldn’t say it was the worst but it was definitely unpleasant but considering I was EXTREMELY hungry it may have very well been the worst. There were about 5 small shrimp in this large burrito. I’m a picture person when it comes to Unilocal and in my reviews I like to keep it positive but I couldn’t keep this awful experience under wraps, pun intended. With the many choices of Mexican food I have to choose from near by, I’m definitely not coming back anymore.

Do not, i repeat, do NOT order your food to go from this place. We decided to try this place out on a recommendation from a friend. Arrived around noon today(Sunday) to a pretty crowded place. By the time we left, there was a line out the door. We figured it MUST be good. After ordering, I asked if Chips and Salsa came with it. She said we had to have a minimum order of $ 25 and ours was only at $ 23, Really?! It bugs me when chips and salsa do not come standard in a mexican restaurant. So she charged me $ 3.25 for chips and salsa. The order was ready in about 10 minutes. Once we got home & started unpacking the bag, we quickly noticed the bag was covered in grease from his shredded beef burrito that they did not seal the aluminum foil wrapper properly. Awesome. Then, we open the first container to see a tiny enchilada floating in a pool of sauce, which also leaked all over the rice and beans. Cool. The taco was about the size of a choco taco ice cream bar and it had more tomatoes in it then anything else. Whohoo. We literally had to unpack everything from the boxes because it was such a freaking mess, He opened up his burrito and it is a flour tortilla packed with shredded beef. ONLY shredded beef… nothing at all is in there. THEN to top it off, our salsa is in there but NOCHIPSTHATWEPAIDANADDITIONAL $ 3.25FOR. Our meal was $ 30, no drinks, no chips and super crappy messy food. What a dissapointment. We will NOT be back!

Not a bad place to eat if you just want to grab a quick bite of Mexican food. The tables were not completely wiped clean which is a peeve of mine. I tried the nachos which was a huge serving and I couldn’t even get a third into it and wasn’t that good lol. The chili rellenos were very good. The service was okay though it almost seemed like you were bothering them when you asked for salsa or a to-go box. Overall just ok and cheap at least.
