The food was good, however I do not think I will ever go back there. We arrived at 8:45 for breakfast. All through our breakfast the staff who was not busy just stared at us. there were three at the hostess stand and at least two behind the bar. None of them were busy doing anything except watching the customers. At any time you could look up and fine at lease of then staring at us. It was just ridiculous.

We have been here several times and enjoyed ourselves, but this one was a game changer. Went in and had coffee brought to the table. I was pouring cream into my cup when out of the corner of my eye I see something crawling off the coffee pot towards me. I realize its a COCKROACH! That’s not the worst part. I jumped out of the booth and let the manger know… he then moved us to another table without apologizing or caring at all. Our waitress was never informed we had been moved either. I realize not every dining experience is perfect, but it’s how you’re treated at a place to make up for any short comings. J Christopher’s failed miserably at this today, treating a cockroach coming from their kitchen to the table as a nonchalant, everyday event. Gross.

My best girl friends from high school and I have a tradition of meeting for a yearly breakfast reunion in our hometown on Christmas Eve morning. More often than not, we end up at this J. Christopher’s, which to me, is the definition of a-ok. It has lots of healthier options than your typical breakfast spots, but my favorite thing to order is a bowl of their cheese grits topped with chopped jalapenos and bacon. Yum. Their unique seasonal pancakes(pumpkin, lemon-blueberry, etc) always get rave reviews as well. Their coffee is strong and good, and they leave a little warm carafe on your table so that you can serve yourself as many refills as you need to wake up in the morning. The service is usually kids from the local high school(aka my friends and I eight years ago), and though they’re a little timid, they have no problem splitting checks and accommodating large groups. Breakfast here is not as cheap as Waffle House, but it’s also not as expensive as Ihop. Though J Christopher’s is a chain, the historic location of this spot ups the character factor from my perspective, and despite its downtown Roswell location, it has a huge parking lot in the back. I also appreciated the cheeky pop art adorning the walls. One framed poster in the front of the restaurant so captivated my interest, that I’m seriously thinking of driving back to see if they’ll sell it to me. If not, I guess I can always see it next Christmas Eve morning.

Located quietly at a busy intersection on Roswell road, and the breakfast experience on this historical part of this road is a must try. Huevos Avocado out here is the best in town!

Do not get the grits. It has a terrible before and after taste. But the fresh squeezed orange juice and French toast is to live for :)

I recently… finally got around to snapping some images of the food and doing a quick Unilocal«check in» from our table. I neglect this place way too much by not Unilocaling enough about it. Why you ask? Because all sense of responsible Unilocaling goes out of my mind once the food arrives. I want to dive right in and stuff my face! Omelettes are huge and well stuffed with your toppings. My favorite is the Huevos Avocados… basically eggs Benedict with guacamole slathered on top! Delish. The service is quick and friendly and the Manager(perhaps owner?) comes by regularly to shoot the breeze and ask how it is going. This past weekend after doing a major hike around the Roswell Mill, I was looking through the images I took on my camera. The manager walked by and saw the camera and engaged in friendly conversation about pictures and site seeing in the area. Makes you feel like you are right at home having nice conversation. They have recently renovated the place and it is definitely bringing in the clients. The building is one of the oldest in downtown Roswell and is on the«ghost tour» for sure. Worth a drive to go check it out for sure.

Just don’t do it… eggs were good and thats it! Had Pantry feast, strawberry French toast and hash… eggs were good… Waiter said everything was made from scratch, NOT true. Being new to Atlanta area just something we had to do, but shouldn’t have. Denny’s back home is way better, waffle house is better. there are no more words

I really want to like this place, but i just don’t and I’m not completely sure why. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I like restaurants that have character, especially for breakfast. I think I like being reminded of the greasy spoons that my Uncle took e to as a kid, and this place just doesn’t do that. Don’t get me wrong, I like more than breakfast dives, just not this place. All that being said, the food is very good. I went with a group of guys and everyone liked what they had — from Eggs Benedict, to ham and eggs, to omelets. I had a Billy Goat Omelet with spinach, feta cheese(I think) and other good things. It was cooked just right — not to wet, or dry. The coffee was good as well. The service was just OK. Polite, but a tad slow, and almost robotic. Maybe this lack of character was part of the problem I had with the place? We ran out of coffee a couple of times, and this is with two carafes on the table. This shouldn’t happen, especially as they weren’t that busy. I’m sure I’ll go back with friends or family, but JC’s will not be a destination for me unless it is for convenience. The price vs. what you get just doesn’t work for me. There are other places that I personally like better. To those who love this place, keep on eatin! :)

This place is great for breakfast and lunch, brunch. The food is fresh and service is good. This location is nice in old Roswell. I ordered the salmon BLT and that was delicious!

Nice well laid out space. You can find parking in the back. Stopped by on a Monday morning, very relaxed atmosphere. With the soft rock coming out of the speakers and my full belly I needed a nap when I was done but J. Christopher’s hit the spot.

I’ve been to quite a few J. Christopher’s but this is by far my favorite location. It’s not that the food is any better here than at their other locations; it’s more that this location has history and character. Downtown Roswell is such a fun place to spend an afternoon. It looks almost like a New England village, but you’re surrounded by Southern history. For instance, you could grab a bite to eat at this J. Christopher’s location and then walk down to the site of the old Roswell Mill for a nice hike. The building that houses this J. Christopher’s dates back to 1854, and if you ask the wait staff, they can tell you about the Union soldier and Southern belle whose tragic romance led to this building’s haunting! All J. Christopher’s locations have character thanks to the eclectic collection of artwork on the walls, but this location is charming on a different level. As to the food, I absolutely love ordering off of the seasonal special menu. The pumpkin pancakes are worth the nearly year-long wait each fall. And this spring they are offering sweet potato pancakes, which are almost equally as mouthwatering. J. Christopher’s also has some great options for lunch, including my favorite: the salmon BLAT – a salmon sandwich with bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato. It is SOGOOD. I love taking out-of-town friends and family to this location, celebrating special occasions, and meeting in-town friends. I’d eat here every weekend if I could.

I have a special soft spot in my heart for J. Christophers, but not necessarily this one. : —(I was in the area one day & if I would have realized just how close I was to my favorite I would have much rather taken the time to drive. Its not bad, but its just not great. I even splurged & got the Blueberry Crunchcakes One of J. Christopher’s most popular dishes! Blueberry pancakes made with crunchy granola mixed in. An unusually tasty treat! I was expecting to be blown over the moon by these pancakes & they were simply just«O.k.» at that point I would have preferred to pick up my favorite Harvest Grain & Nut from Ihop. Maybe it was my bad… trying to find a pancake to replace those, or maybe I just expected more out of J. Christophers, but I can’t say that I was necessarily impressed. : —(Again, not terrible, just not mind blowing.

Just say no to $ 9+ pancakes and lousy coffee. Their food is pretty good, but damn is it overpriced. And their coffee sucks. No thank you.

This is a nice place to meet up with friends for brunch. I usually can’t think of many other places for brunch besides this place and Flying Biscuit. This place is tucked inside a shopping center next to Kroger. It was not easy to find the first time I came here. They are open only for breakfast and lunch. Their menu includes your usual breakfast items: eggs, pancakes, waffles and such. Prices are usually under $ 10. I think it’s hard to mess up breakfasts. Food was ok whenver I eat there. There was nothing to spectacular to remember.

Wow I can’t believe how many negative reviews there are for J. Chris! I love this place. I don’t think it’s WAY overpriced. but average. Just because it’s not as cheap as Waffle House doesn’t mean it’s too expensive! I LOVE their Traditional Bfast. Potatoes are awesome. Eggs of course. English Muffins are a plus. and people are nice there. Which is worth something! Yea, it may be a «treat» for us «college folk» every now and then. but totally worth it. Like someone else mentioned, I wish it was open later than 2 sometimes. but I think that’s part of it’s charm ;)

I’m not a big breakfasty person, but if I need to take visitors out for breakfast, this is the place I do it. This is the best JC location, good ambience, service, plenty of parking. There is always something new on their menu, and quite a selection of different types of pancakes and such. I’m sure their eggs suck because eggs just kind of tend to do that.

I love this place for Brunch. It’s décor and location is much better than the strip mall J Christopher’s, but parking is a bit of a pain when it’s busy. Forget it if it’s a Sunday when church gets out, the wait is usually 1+ hours. Always solid on the food, but the service is hit or miss. Great place to bring kids, and usually can accommodate pretty large tables. Our company had a meeting there at one point in the loft area, which is really neat, they supplied coffee and some assorted breakfast stuff. Overall, great food and location, service is hit or miss.

J. Christopher’s rocks my socks! If only it stayed open after 2pm! Ugh. I have always experienced a friendly wait staff, despite the fact I never know what I want to order. Their coffee is served in Fiestaware mugs and I can never get enough of it. Sun dried tomato bagels are great if you want something light. If you’re looking for something heavier try the skillets. I tend to order the french toast more than anything else. These guys have a great art collection to stare at as well. for menu and many locations.
