The absolute only reason we come here is because the 3 year old in my life is obsessed with playing with their train table. Completely unrelated to icecream. BR just cannot compare to the local small businesses around town that sell ice cream. A single scoop cone was $ 4! You can go to Rays or Clarks and get triple the ice cream for a buck less or go to Dairy Delight and have a delicious soft serve. The ice cream here is mediocre and overpriced. If I’m going to pay top dollar for ice cream(which I have no problem doing) it should be homemade and delicious. The other issue here is that it is severely under staffed. Only one young lady working on a busy evening in downtown Royal Oak? Not a good sign.

I come here often for an ice cream fix. Your average ice cream shop with plenty of favors, clean and neat. Staff is quick and friendly. I like their portion sizes better, especially with kids. The kids cone is the right size for me and the kiddos to keep them from bouncing off the walls!

Horrible, horrible service. When I go to an ice cream shop rather than buy ice cream at the grocery store, the added benefit I hope for is a pleasurable experience. I usually go to an ice cream shop on a special occasion and I visited this particular Baskin Robbins on my birthday. Big mistake. I pulled up my coupon for a free birthday ice cream on my iPhone and not only did none of the staff wish me happy birthday, but the smart asses that work here told me I had to print the coupon out or they wouldn’t accept it. This was not a policy stated in the email from Baskin Robbins nor on the coupon itself, nor do I even own a printer, yet when I told them this they said it was the store policy and stared at me rudely, expecting me fork over some cash or get the f out. I chose the latter. One of the employees silently glared at me until I left, I guess just to prove the point that my shenanigans weren’t welcome, despite it being my birthday??? I will never, ever go back here, and I suggest you don’t go either if you want amicable employees who will keep your day light and buoyant.

While I love Baskin Robbins for ice cream, their ice cream cakes are pricey! $ 30 for cake, ice cream and frosting seemed a little high considering those three elements separately. I checked out Treat Dreams as a second option but they needed three days notice to fill a cake order. I opted to check out Holiday which had the same size ice cream cakes, albeit in fewer flavors perhaps, but for 20% cheaper. Just an FYI if you’re looking for a chilled party favor. Holiday was a winner for flavor and cost.
